Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!-Chapter 1799: Saving The Beast People
-----
"I’ve spread over ten thousand Undead across the region and managed to eliminate around one hundred twenty Vampires," Maria sighed heavily. "It would be simple to obliterate the entire continent, but this delicate work of selecting precise targets is mentally exhausting."
"Maria...! Did you really do that?!" Lucifer asked, stunned.
"Yes. My Undead will assist those in the south and around our area here, but we should press forward and help directly as well," Maria replied. "As for you, I’ve prepared a safe shelter inside my Soul Realm. Please come."
Maria invited the monkey people to take refuge in a vast, beautiful forest within her Soul Realm, where abundant fruits and fresh water awaited them.
Without delay, they advanced. Whenever they neared a village and witnessed the desperate struggle, they struck swiftly, slaying the Vampires and guiding the beast people into Maria’s Soul Realm.
Dozens of similar villages dotted the landscape. Unlike in other worlds, these people lived as large, scattered families in the jungle rather than unified communities, leaving them vulnerable to the Vampires’ organized assaults.
They encountered Tanuki tribes, Toucans, Doves, Monitor Lizards, Frogs, Centipedes, and many more. Even the insect tribes had not been spared; despite the Vampires’ disgust for invertebrate blood—green and viscous—they had subjugated them all the same.
The survivors thanked them through tears. Some had perished before help arrived. Maria left the dead untouched unless loved ones pleaded; in those cases, she revived them as remarkably lifelike Undead. Word spread, and the people began calling them "Jungle Gods" or "Beast Spirits."
This world had once been guarded by numerous Beast Spirits, but the Family Head and his Archdukes had captured or slain them all, stripping the land of its protectors.
Worse still, the Family Head had claimed the Divinity Throne of Beast Spirits—rumored to have personally killed the great Beast Spirit King.
"He’s undoubtedly powerful, that monster..." Maria muttered.
Behind her marched an army of hundreds of Zombie Vampires. Their minds were shattered, souls broken and forcibly mended ten times over until nothing coherent remained. It was a fitting punishment for their crimes. Maria could have annihilated their souls completely, but she chose instead to turn them against their own kind.
"Maria, there’s a fortress ahead!" Ferleen called, sniffing the air from a distance. "Look!"
"I see it," Maria confirmed.
In the heart of the jungle lay a scorched clearing. At its center stood a massive crimson fortress, encircled by towering pillars of blood that formed a vast formation and a formidable barrier isolating the area.
"Bastards even built walls to trap people inside so they couldn’t flee," Maria said coldly. "Let’s go."
She surged forward, transforming into lightning that sliced through the forest. Her sword energy struck the barrier; cracks spiderwebbed across its surface, and a heartbeat later, the entire shield shattered into fragments.
BOOOM!
"W-What?! Who dares?!"
"Invaders!"
"Players?!"
"They dare challenge us?!"
A dozen Vampires erupted from the ground, soaring into the sky on bat-like wings before diving toward the intruders. They summoned their Sanguine Relics instantly, unleashing barrages of long-range attacks.
Maria advanced unflinching. Her Aura twisted and reshaped into a haunting masterpiece of dark hues, a dark knight beneath a starry sky. Her eyes burned with sorrow and righteous fury, embodying the vengeful spirits of every soul slain in this land.
She could hear them.
Hundreds, thousands of tormented souls swirled around her, their voices rising in desperate chorus.
"KILL."
"KILL THEM!"
"AVENGE US!"
"KILL THESE MONSTERS!"
"I will," Maria promised.
Her body erupted in thunder.
"Wha...?!"
The Vampires glimpsed only her blade weaving through the heavens, plunging the bright day into sudden, unnatural night.

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
"Ngaaahhh!"
"Aagh!"
"Ungh?!"
Agonized screams filled the air as the Vampires’ bodies tore apart into countless pieces. Their souls convulsed, shattering and reforming in endless torment.
Maria gathered them all, forcing their broken forms to fuse into a grotesque, towering zombie.
"GRAAAHHHH!"
Within the monstrous giant, their souls wailed in perpetual agony. The abomination lunged forward, smashing into the fortress and shaking the earth.
More Vampires poured out in shock and horror.
"What in the world is this—AAAAGH!"
A spear lanced through the air, skewering dozens at once before slamming into the walls and detonating in a massive blast.
A brilliant beam of white flames roared from afar, incinerating scores more. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Then a radiant hero descended from the sky, his blinding sword cleaving downward and splitting the fortress in two.
BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!
As the structure crumbled, a lone Vampire Duke leaped free, only to be ensnared by dozens of glowing paper seals.
"What—AAAGH!"
A paralyzing surge of spirit energy coursed through him, forcing him to his knees.
"Y-You...! Who are you?!"
The Duke glared at the approaching Fox siblings. Melianna channeled her brush to reinforce the seals, while Ferleen’s Dream Spirit manifested, drawing in the thick hatred and despair left by the fallen.
"ROOOAAARR!"
The dark emotions coalesced into a monstrous demonic fox wreathed in purgatorial flames.
"We’ve finally returned to reclaim the world you stole from us!" the siblings declared in unison.
"Ahhh...! AAAAHHH!"
The Vampire’s scream of terror rose as the fox tore into him—devouring his head, then his very soul.
Maria spotted dozens of Vampires attempting to flee.
She smiled coldly.
"Where do you think you’re going?"
She transformed into a lightning dragonfly, her sword flashing in deadly arcs. She reappeared moments later in her original spot as severed bodies crumpled to the ground.
Their souls suffered ten times the pain, a curse Maria had woven into them upon death. The curse would lift only if the victim felt genuine regret or had acted under coercion. So far, it has never deactivated.
She strode into the ruined fortress. Her ghosts dragged out every remaining living soul. The structure had shielded a final group of about thirty captives, but the rest... were gone.
Their bodies had vanished, leaving only a massive, cursed cauldron filled with boiling, thick crimson liquid. A nauseating stench of blood rose from it, along with swarms of cursed spirits.
Nearby, a refinement area held crates of neatly packed red pills ready for transport—accursed elixirs forged from the suffering of countless innocents.
Maria’s face twisted with fury as she stared at the pills.
Rage surged within her; she wanted to obliterate everything.
Yet she knew these were the last remnants of those people.
"Let’s bury them..." she said quietly to the rescued survivors after feeding them and explaining who they were.
Through tears, everyone nodded in heartfelt agreement.
