Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!-Chapter 1809: Fighting The Invading Olympian Gods
-----
Maria’s family surged forward, clashing fiercely with the gods to drive them back and carve an opening.
"Maria, Nia, go! We’ll handle this ourselves!" Lucifer roared.
"Go, mother!" Celes shouted.
"We’ll take care of these idiots!" Partner added.
"Alright, thank you! Let’s go, Nia, Hawken!"
"M-Me too?!"
Hawken blinked in surprise as Maria seized his arm and bolted toward the ruins.
The gods quickly grasped their intention and charged after her.
Her family intercepted them instantly, fists flying and sending the divine beings reeling.
"There!"
Maria reached the ruins and raced toward the entrance with Nia at her side.
The gods and the Saintess were inside.
But the gate stood firmly closed!
"They sealed the gate! How do we get in without the bloodline?!" Maria exclaimed.
"Maybe..."
Her sharp eyes scanned the structure. The ruins were incredibly resilient.
She had sliced through space and even time before.
Gripping her blade tightly, she swung with full force.
"Haaah!"
SLAAASH!
The slash tore into the ruins, but the entire structure shuddered violently, on the verge of collapse if she struck again.
"Damn it, if it collapses the princess could die inside...! Nia, can you open it? I don’t want to risk it."
"I’m on it!"
Nia pressed her hand to the gate, pouring her power into it and closing her eyes.
"Please let me in!"
The gate trembled and slowly swung open.
"It worked so quickly?!"
Shocked but relieved, she led everyone inside. They hurried through the long corridors.
Then they heard it.
"Please don’t take all the Wind Stones! They are sacred!"
The princess’s desperate voice pleaded with the gods to stop plundering her people’s cherished treasures.
"Silence!"
"Aaaagh!"
"PRINCESS!!!"
Hawken’s anguished cry echoed as his Aura erupted. He charged forward in a desperate bid to save her!
Maria and Nia followed close behind, bursting into a vast open chamber.
This space felt different; a small pocket realm nestled within the ruins.
A tranquil valley ringed by mountains of shimmering Wind Stone.
And there they stood.
A man with long green hair, pale skin, and blazing orange eyes stared at them coldly. He gripped the princess’s delicate hand, her wrist twisted and broken, blood dripping as she wept in agony.
"Huh? Who the hell are you—ACK! MARIA?!"
"P-Princess...! How dare you!"
Hawken exploded toward the god in blind fury, his Aura flaring wildly.
"Wait, Hawken!"
Maria and Nia raced after him, but the god merely smirked.
He swept his hand forward, unleashing a colossal gust of wind.
TRUUUM!
"Nngaaack?!"
Hawken’s body shredded apart in an instant. Blood and feathers sprayed everywhere.
"Hahahaha! Foolish bird! Did you truly believe you could accomplish anything?! With all these Wind Stones, I am invincible! Once I return, my father will finally acknowledge my strength!"
"Who the hell are you?!"
Maria roared in rage as she channeled her Paladin’s Life Sacrifice, healing Hawken just enough to keep him clinging to life.
"You...! So you ignored the Vampires and came straight after me?! Haha... You’re crueler than I thought."
"By Vampires you mean these?"
Maria’s Shadow unfurled, revealing Virel, Xarin, the other two-Family Heads, and dozens more Vampires.
"What?!"
The god recoiled in shock as they all surged toward him!
Desperation twisted his features. He began frantically absorbing the power of every Wind Stone in the realm.
The Family Heads stood their ground, unleashing their unique magic and techniques, holding their own together.
"Nnnggh! You’re all trash before me!"
The god bellowed, swinging his arm and releasing a massive cutting wave of wind that sliced through dozens of Vampires in a single stroke.
The five Family Heads dodged and pressed the attack once more.
His Wind Barrier wavered. The princess continued to sob in pain, her shattered arm still trapped in the god’s crushing grip.
"D-Damn it! Come on! Tell the Stones to obey me! Give me all their power!"
"N-No...! I won’t!"
"What?!"
Even small and frail as a hummingbird, the princess met his gaze with fierce defiance.
"I’ve... done enough! I won’t help you even if you crush every bone in my body!"
"HAH?! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!"
The god’s power surged as he raised his fist to strike her.
And then...
FLUOSH!
A figure appeared behind him out of nowhere.
It wasn’t Maria.
"Hm?!"
"Enough! Let her go!"
A spear erupted with wind and thunder, piercing straight through the god’s arm and detonating an explosive force from within.
His muscles burst apart, leaving only bone.
"AAAAGH!"
As he screamed and his grip loosened, Nia darted forward, snatched the princess, and fled with her.
"W-WAIT...! DAMN IT!"
The god did not pursue. Instead he lunged toward the mountains of Wind Stone.
With frantic hands he tore the stones apart and devoured them.
"Nnnghh...! NNGUUHH!"
He gorged himself monstrously while Maria healed the princess.
"What the hell is he doing now?!" Maria demanded.
"He’s eating the Wind Stones?!" Nia cried.
"S-Stop him...! Please...! The sacred stones cannot be desecrated anymore...! They’re blessings from the Wind Spirit...! They cannot be eaten like that...!" the princess sobbed.
"Hawken, protect the girl!" Maria ordered. Some Vampires appeared at their side to help; the rest had already been torn to pieces.
"P-Princess! Yes...!" Hawken nodded, finally regaining consciousness. "Leave it to me... ugh!"
"Knight Hawken! Are you okay?" The healed princess steadied him gently. "Haha, are you really going to protect me, sire?"
"I-I..." Hawken flushed deeply before the beautiful bird lady. "I will do everything I can!"
"Well done, Hawken. Get the girl!" Maria and Nia charged toward the god.
"NNGGH...! MORE POWER...! MOREEEEE...!"
The god descended into madness as his body swelled larger. Muscles bulged grotesquely. His pale skin sprouted green tattoos resembling swirling winds, then shifted to golden markings.
Demonic horns of Wind Stone erupted from his head. Spikes of the crystal jutted across his body. His nails lengthened into claws of the same material.
His eyes gleamed like polished jewels. His brows furrowed in rage. His green hair turned stark white and spiked wildly.
"WINDS...! HAHA...! HAHAHAHAHA! WITH THIS I CAN SHOW MY FATHER...! I CAN SHOW ZEUS THAT I AM SOMEONE WHO DESERVES TO BE PART OF OLYMPUS!!!"
As he laughed maniacally, a protective storm of wind enveloped him. Maria and Nia were hurled back relentlessly.
These winds were immensely powerful, compacted, concentrated, folded layer upon layer until they formed an almost solid mass. The two women stared in shock.
"I WILL KILL YOU BOTH FIRST! DIE!"
Mouths opened across his body, exhaling ferocious gusts that birthed dozens of destructive tornadoes shaped like roaring serpents and dragons.
FLUOOOSH!
"Damn it!"
Maria swiftly summoned her sword dome, slashing desperately to carve through the winds. She managed—barely.
The force was overwhelming. She was steadily pushed back.
It wasn’t that she was taking heavy damage, but the assault was relentless. Even distorting space or wielding the void proved useless; his winds filled every rift.
In that instant, Maria’s eyes blazed with brilliant light.
Countless calculations raced through her mind. Blood trickled from her nose.
"Maria?!"
"I’ll create a new technique! Nia, please hold on as much as you can!"
"Okay!"
