Chapter 1810: Winds Against Winds

-----

Nia pressed forward on her own, her understanding of the winds growing deeper and more powerful with every moment.

With her bare hands, she began to grasp the immense, invisible force and push it aside.

She was digging through the wind itself, her body and soul constantly evolving in the process.

Then Maria’s eyes turned gold.

"Nia, infuse your Aura into mine. We’re going together!"

"Together?!"

"I need you. It’s a technique I can only do with you!"

"Maria...!"

Nia blushed, nodding quickly as she leaped onto Maria’s back.

Her Aura fused with Maria’s.

FLUOSH!

"Let’s go!"

Both surged forward, tearing through the gale.

Maria’s soul absorbed Nia’s Winds and Thunder, forging a new weapon.

Her Sword Soul Heart embraced the love she held for Nia, and this union gave birth to a new form!

{Spectral Ghostly Fist Art: Fusion Form – Wind-Cutting Soul Tempest Saber}!

"HAAAAHH!"

They roared in unison. The God’s face twisted in fear as he staggered back.

A giant saber of wind and thunder materialized, slicing straight through his indestructible barrier!

SLAAASH!

"W-Wha...?!"

As he groaned in shock, Maria and Nia pressed the advantage without hesitation.

Their thunder became one.

RUMBLE!

The ground beneath them shattered as their sword rushed toward the God.

"Y-YOU!"

Eurus fought back desperately. Now over twenty meters tall, his enormous, muscular arms—covered in mouths that exhaled fierce winds—combined into giant wind blades. He clashed against Maria’s technique with raw brute force, compensating for his complete lack of skill.

But how far could brute strength carry him?

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

"I AM THE GOD OF WINDS! EURUS! I WILL NOT FALL! I WILL SURPASS ZEUS! I WILL!"

He kept amplifying his power, growing monstrously larger as more and more winds erupted from his body.

Yet he was only compensating.

Maria and Nia’s combined technique was overwhelming him!

FLASH! FLASH! FLASH!

They transformed into lightning, appearing and vanishing from his sight.

With every flicker, Maria’s blade carved deeper into his flesh.

Dozens, then hundreds of slashing wounds covered his body, electrocuting his insides and draining his blood without end.

"AAAGH! NO...! NNGGHH!"

Eurus refused to yield. He punched back, shaping his winds into dozens of different forms, desperately searching for an opening.

But he found none.

In response to his surge of power, Maria and Nia’s technique evolved even further!

{Spectral Ghostly Fist Art: Fusion Form – Storm-Cutting Spectral Tempest Saber}!

The saber of wind and thunder swelled to three times its size, overflowing with spectral energy. It fused completely with Nia’s winds and thunder, turning them pitch black.

Maria and Nia swung downward together, their Auras united as one.

"HAAAAHHH!"

Their combined fury erupted, a colossal tornado of black winds that shredded Eurus’ defenses and his aura.

The attack struck his head, splitting his skull and then the rest of his body.

SLAAASH!

Even torn apart, Eurus remained dimly conscious.

"A-Ah... Ahh..."

But then...

"AAAAAAHHHHHH!"

He screamed in unbearable agony. His two halves released all the power he had absorbed in a violent burst of emerald light.

BOOOMMM!!!

Maria swiftly shielded everyone from the blast. As the smoke cleared, a massive statue of Eurus stood before them, crystallized entirely in Wind Stone.

The power he had consumed had been too much. It had turned him into a crystal.

"He’s dead..." the princess sighed. "He absorbed too much of the Wind Stone’s power. This is why they are so dangerous."

"It’s finally over..." Hawken breathed in relief.

Maria and Nia stood there, both breathing heavily, a little exhausted.

"Haaa... Maria, we did it—hmm?"

Nia froze in surprise as Maria leaned in and kissed her lips with tender love.

"I love you, Nia..."

"M-Maria..."

Nia kissed her back immediately, smiling as she wrapped her arms around her.

"I love you too..."

Watching the scene, Hawken and the princess blushed faintly.

Maria rejoined the group and led them back home, carefully keeping the shattered remnants of the God’s soul with her.

Though crystallized into fragments, his soul still lingered. She refused to risk him ever awakening again.

When they emerged from the ruins and resealed them, they found the floating white palace had crashed in front of the entrance. All the gods Olympus had brought along lay dead.

"Well done, everyone!" Maria said brightly.

"How did it go?" Emeraldine asked.

"There was a lot of commotion in there..." Lucifer remarked.

"Mama, was it hard?" Celes asked his mother.

"It was a little harder than I would’ve liked, but we managed," Nia replied. "I would like to take a break, though..."

"Yeah, it’s getting darker already. Let’s head back to Heaven City," Maria agreed with a nod.

The group returned the princess to her home. Hawken received congratulations from the King and was promoted to knight.

In the battle, he had even awakened a minor Wind Rider talent, as though his courage in protecting the princess against impossible odds had caught the wind’s attention.

"Not only did you return my daughter, but you brought back the kidnapped people as well. How could we ever repay you, Maria?" the King asked.

"Ah, there’s no need," Maria said. "It’s reward enough to crush the Crimson Order or Olympus bastards whenever the chance arises. We’ll stay for the rest of the night and depart tomorrow, if you don’t mind."

"O-Of course! Please stay in the noble district! We’ll provide a house with servants and everything!" the King insisted.

"Hahah, thank you," Maria replied.

In the end, the King gifted her weapons, armor, shields, and accessories embedded with Wind Stones—known as "Sacred Wind Gear."

The equipment was sturdy and imbued with powerful wind abilities. It suited Nia best, so Maria entrusted most of the items to her, strengthening her partner in the long run.

She kept a paired ring for herself, which Nia also wore. It symbolized their bond and allowed Maria to channel Nia’s Wind and Thunder Aura from a distance, though only a third as strong as when they touched.

When night fell, the family enjoyed a delicious dinner featuring the bird folk’s cuisine. Maria and Nia politely avoided the insects served.

That night, Maria spoiled Nia. In a private room, the two shared loving embraces and passionate intimacy.

The next morning, Maria watched Nia sleeping peacefully and smiled. She kissed her forehead gently before preparing for the day.

After bathing alone, Nia woke and joined her.

Then they hurried back to their families and had breakfast together.

Once again, they skipped the bugs and worms.

Hawken and the princess joined them for the meal. It was clear the two were growing closer.

They also reported that things had stabilized. The damaged areas have already been rebuilt.

Aetherion was a resilient world. Its people were hardworking and refused to let tragedy define them forever.

Meanwhile, Maria had already converted all the defeated gods and vampires into zombies, bolstering her army even further.

As for the crystallized fragments of Eurus’ soul, she was considering using them as materials to evolve Nia’s spear, the most compatible vessel.
