Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!-Chapter 1830: Regaining What Was Lost
-----
"I can now reverse any of my skills?"
Maria stared in shock at the staggering implications of her new power.
Right there, she tested her abilities on her existing skills.
The [Life Draining Abyssal Curse Rune] Skill transformed into [Life Granting Holy Blessing Rune], now infusing lifeforce and vitality into anyone she marked with these runes.
The [Soul Devourer] Skill became [Soul Healer].
The [Gate of the Underworld] turned into [Gate of Heaven]!
And...
"My tears are clear... not black?"
[Void Tears of the Starless Deep] had become [Holy Tears of the Starry Sky].
They radiated gentle light from within and could heal almost anything.
"M-Maria? What are you doing...?!"
The doctor gasped as she walked toward the nearby patients.
Maria’s tears fell onto their bodies.
Like her, they had lain in comas for many years.
Yet their souls remained—she could sense them clearly.
As her tears touched them like a divine elixir, their eyes snapped open.
One by one, they awoke.
Not only that—their bodies were reborn and revitalized instantly, brimming with overflowing vitality.
"W-What...!?"
"Where am I?"
"I feel so good..."
"How long have I been sleeping?"
Chaos erupted throughout the hospital as a single woman moved from room to room, reviving and healing every patient she reached.
The entire facility teetered on the edge of bankruptcy.
The doctor and nurses made no attempt to stop her—they couldn’t bring themselves to.
They simply watched in stunned awe as she performed miracle after miracle.
Never in their lives had they witnessed anything so profoundly miraculous.
She moved like a benevolent goddess of light and life.
For the first time, Maria truly grasped the power of being reborn as a human.
Yet she still had a level cap.
"Level 1000... I can evolve even further?"
Then realization struck.
Only when she finally reached Level 1000 would she attain the strength needed to destroy the tower.
A power that surpassed X+ Rank.
Perhaps something on the same level as the Heavenly Father himself.
She also noticed her Physique and Classes remained unchanged—they had not ranked up with her body.
Her Physique still revolved around the void and its endless aspects, but now she possessed a human body with its own innate powers.
It felt as though her overall strength had doubled.
It was incredible.
"Fran... Fran?!"
"Hm?"
As children and elderly patients—cured of cancer and countless other diseases—swarmed around Maria in grateful hugs, she heard a familiar voice.
A woman with the same green eyes as hers and short black hair.
She appeared to be in her thirties, tall and strikingly gorgeous.
The face was the same as before, yet somehow transformed—radiant, healthy, vibrant.
Maria couldn’t quite place the word, but she looked truly well.
She had expected her sister to look aged, but like her...
Laura had Awakened too.
Maria could sense several Blessings pulsing within her.
"Laura...?"
It was her big sister.
Laura dropped her bag and ran forward, tears streaming as she threw herself into Maria’s arms.
"FRAAAAN!"
She hugged her fiercely, screaming and sobbing against her shoulder.
"Francisca! It’s you! Francisca! Fraaaan! Haaahhh! Francisca...!"
She couldn’t stop crying out, her voice raw with devastation and overwhelming joy.
Maria felt every ounce of pain Laura had endured, every sacrifice she had made.
"Laura..."
Maria cried too, hugging her sister tightly and kissing her face over and over.
"I love you, Laura! I missed you so much! I love you so much! So much!"
"I love you too, you dummy! Fran...! Is this real life?! Are you really awake?! After almost twenty fucking years?!"
"Yes... it’s me. I’m back... and I have so much to tell you."
"What...? Ah! Fran!"
Laura would calm down for a moment, then remember who she held and dissolve into fresh tears, hugging and kissing her sister again, refusing to let go.
Her arms were incredibly strong—superhuman—cradling Maria against her chest while pressing endless kisses to her head.
Maria didn’t mind at all. She clung to her big sister, basking in her warmth, feeling a happiness so deep it ached.
All the hardships, all the struggles...
They had been worth it in the end.
"I heard you have healing powers?! You awakened as a healer?! That’s so amazing!" Laura said through tears. "Look at all the people you healed! Oh my fucking god!"
"Hahaha, yeah..." Maria giggled, wiping her own tears. "My tears are like an elixir or something—the doctor said that..."
"Fran...! This is so amazing, you’re like a damn angel..." Laura sobbed, kissing her face again and again. "I love you! You’re my life! You’re my beloved baby sister! I’m never letting go of you, okay? And...! And I’m so sorry for being a piece of shit before, okay?! I’ve regretted it for so long! I’m so sorry...! I’m so sorry, Fran...!"
"It’s fine... It’s alright," Maria giggled softly as her sister cried against her chest. "I was kind of a jerk sometimes too... that’s just us being sisters, heheh... there’s nothing to be sorry about."
Maria felt quite small in her real body. She had once towered over two meters tall, but now she stood barely 1 meter 62 centimeters.
Even after rejuvenation, she had remained almost the same height as before.
She wasn’t sure whether to feel happy or disappointed about that.
"Really? You don’t hate me?" Laura asked, voice small.
"No... I don’t. I love you," Maria said, smiling and kissing her cheeks. "And I’m so thankful for what you’ve done—keeping me alive for twenty years... it must have been so painful, right? I bet Mom feels the same..."
"Mom...!" Laura gasped. "Right... Mom..."
Her expression turned suddenly sad.
Maria’s heart plummeted.
She didn’t want to imagine the worst.
Laura looked down, shame and sorrow clouding her face.
"Is Mom... okay?" Maria asked quietly. "Is she alive?"
"Y-Yeah! I mean yeah, she’s fine!" Laura nodded quickly. "Sorry if I scared you... she’s not dead."
"Haaa... why did you act that way then?!" Maria demanded.
"Mom is... a lot happened these twenty years," Laura said, her voice heavy with sadness. "I... maybe we should talk about this at my house. I mean, will they let you go home?"
"Yes, she’s discharged, Miss Laura," the doctor approached them. "I... am at a loss for words. I suggest you go straight to the Hunters Association and register her. If she’s caught using her powers without a license, she could face serious trouble."
"Wait, is it bad?" Maria asked.
"A lot of regulations have been put in place over the last twenty years regarding people with powers—destruction and crime rates have skyrocketed," the doctor explained. "Security is much tighter now... Well, if it’s purely healing, it shouldn’t be an issue, but if she has anything else, better safe than sorry."
"I understand, Doctor. Thank you so much!" Laura said. "I... can I have your number?"
"Hm?" The handsome doctor tilted his head, surprised. "Haha, Miss Laura, you’re bold today, huh?"
"I kind of always wanted to ask for your number, Doctor, but now I finally have the courage..." Laura giggled, patting her sister’s shoulder.
"Hahaha!" The doctor laughed warmly. "Alright, Laura."
He shared his number and walked away.
"Holy shit, did I do that?!" Laura gasped, staring at the paper with his number.
"Congrats?" Maria asked. "Was he someone you liked?"
"I mean... we’ve been seeing each other for twenty years—he’s super-hot, really kind, and somehow still single..." Laura said. "I mean... I should really just try, right?"
"Hahaha! You’re as shameless as I remember, sister," Maria laughed.
"What?! Shameless?! Look who’s talking!" Laura laughed along with her.
