Chapter 1847: Time To Move

-----

"There’s much more to it than you think. I know you always worry about others or put me and Mom above yourself... but I just want you to think about yourself instead, to be a little selfish."

Fran took her sister’s hand and smiled warmly.

"I want you to be free and happy..."

Laura’s eyes widened slightly, then she nodded.

"I get what you mean... don’t worry. Alright, fine, let’s see what this weird thing is I have inside my heart now."

Laura gathered dream essence over her hands, and her Dream Weapon manifested.

Or rather, a Dream Spirit.

FLUOSH!

It appeared as a fiery red egg covered in scales.

The sisters stared at it with surprised expressions.

"Huh? What?" Laura asked.

"I’m thinking the same. You summoned a big egg?" Maria asked.

"I don’t know why it’s an egg..." Laura said. "Is there a creature inside?"

"I think it’s the egg of a spirit... a dream spirit," Maria explained. "You see..."

She told her sister everything she knew about dream weapons and dream spirits, including how the two could sometimes overlap.

"Okay, that’s interesting," Laura said. "So mine is an egg. Is it a growth type then?"

"Most likely! These guys start weak but evolve exponentially over time," Maria explained. "Mostly through battles and also... well, through their masters embracing something new or gaining some kind of enlightenment."

"Huh..." Laura nodded.

"Anyway, read the book!" Maria urged. "With your talent and the Dream Heart, you should be able to grasp the power right away."

The two sisters spent the rest of the day talking and chatting about Maria’s Martial Arts. Laura eventually finished the book and learned up to the fourth form, easily summoning five Dream Soul Spheres and mastering their great powers.

By the end of the day, they held a grand feast to celebrate Laura’s ascension. The whole family ate to their hearts’ content.

During that time, Laura got to know everyone in Fran’s new family a little better and realized they were all wonderful people.

Partner was a little awkward sometimes, but she was fine too.

The next morning, Laura woke up to find Maria sleeping beside her like a little girl again.

She hugged her sister, kissed her forehead, and then headed to the bathroom.

"Hm?"

As she used the toilet, a floating egg appeared beside her. It cracked open, revealing a pair of eyes inside.

"Grawk!"

A cute little groan came from within...

"What?!"

Still half asleep, Laura screamed loudly at the sudden appearance.

Maria woke up, and after some explanations, the sisters inspected the changes together.

"Looks like it’s slowly hatching? But for now it still wants to remain inside the shell," Maria said. "It’s cute..."

"What powers does it even have?" Laura asked.

"Shouldn’t you be the one who knows that?" Maria laughed. "It’s up to you to find out, hah."

"I guess... so today is the day?" Laura asked.

"Yep. Did you like your vacation here?" Maria teased with a playful smile.

"It was hellish but... also enjoyable," Laura nodded. "I think I’m ready to return and face my fears—and the world..."

"Let’s do it! Like you said, we’ll be a team of sisters taking on the world!" Maria cheered.

After breakfast, Maria shared her various plans with her family and sister. Once they stepped out of her Soul Realm, her family agreed to stay inside and wait for her call.

A large group wouldn’t be stealthy, and they understood perfectly what the two sisters intended... they also knew Maria simply wanted some alone time with Laura.

After spending time with her, the family already loved Laura, so even Nyx didn’t complain.

When the sisters finally returned home, they looked through the large glass door-like window in the living room that led to the small terrace.

"My phone! Right."

Laura rushed to grab her phone, which had run out of battery, and quickly plugged it in to charge.

Maria walked to the door, scanning for anything suspicious.

She spread her Void Aura but detected nothing unusual.

"Looks like in these three days they haven’t shown up yet..."

"That’s a relief... but not even Mom has shown up? Ah, there it is."

Laura checked her phone as soon as it had a little charge, searching for notifications.

Aside from her co-workers at the Olympus Guild wondering where she was—since they had a scheduled Field Dungeon Exploration—there was nothing.

Not even a message from her mother, who sometimes used anonymous accounts to reach out.

"Mom hasn’t contacted us... which is weird! If she saw the news about you, she would be so happy... she sacrificed so much for you," Laura sighed.

"It’s indeed strange, right?" Maria asked. "Okay, sitting down and waiting won’t get us anywhere."

"Yeah, we have to find her... but how do we go about it?" Laura wondered.

"I already have a plan. Come on," Maria said. "Let’s go."

Both sisters left the building. Using their Auras, they veiled their presences, becoming seemingly invisible to everyone around them.

Laura had learned this technique, which combined Martial Intent with Consciousness. It pierced through perception and senses, rendering her undetectable.

Even standing right in front of someone, if they lacked strong Martial Intent or Aura, they would remain completely unseen.

The sisters stopped at a cafeteria for cakes and coffee before continuing.

Eventually they reached a faraway, shady area of New Jersey. Still concealed by their techniques, they approached an abandoned building.

"This must be the place," Laura said.

"Yeah," Maria nodded. "This is where a branch of the Crimson Order is hiding... underground."

"So we’re breaking some vampire skulls then?" Laura asked. "Before I would’ve been afraid to even confront them, but now I want to crush them for what they did to Mom, and I’ve got the strength to do it."

"Well said," Maria smiled cutely with her youthful face. "Let’s crush these bastards."

After finishing their coffee and bagels, the sisters entered the building.

The first thing they saw was a trio of Vampires inside, conversing quietly.

"Hey, have you heard the rumors? The blood from Murim that we were getting has suddenly stopped."

"Yeah, they lost a war against someone named Maria... three Family Heads died."

"Wow... Thankfully we’re on Earth. That doesn’t concern us, haha."

Laura overheard them talking about her sister and realized just how massive an impact Fran had made on the tower.

"T-Three Family Heads? Aren’t those the strongest Vampires of each family?! What?!"

She wanted to question her sister, but she shook her head and refocused on the mission.

Comparing herself to Fran wouldn’t help her progress anyway.

After everything she had learned from the Heavenly Demon.

She smiled.
