Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!-Chapter 1848: Attacking The Vampires
-----
"I’m so proud of her..."
Instead of feeling bad that she cannot be as great as her sister...
Laura has to be proud of what her sister has achieved and strive to accomplish great things as well.
That is the healthy mindset the Heavenly Demon taught her—the same one he had always carried, even when his family was taken from him and he was imprisoned.
Even after all that, he had never succumbed to madness.
Despite his fierce martial arts and cultivation methods, most people in Murim regarded him as a Buddha-like figure because of his profound harmony and tranquility.
Perhaps this was the secret behind his incredible strength—the reason he could reach a realm that even the Heavenly Emperor, with all his talent and resources over thousands of years, could never grasp.
"Laura, let’s kill them."
"You sure?"
The sisters spoke through telepathy. Laura was surprised by her sister’s ruthlessness.
But she couldn’t help but agree. These people were likely evil.
Still, there was a chance they were good people who—like their mother—had been forced into becoming vampires by circumstances.
"I have the power to see through souls. They are not from Earth, and they’re very cruel. They have done terrible things. It’s better if they die before they harm more."
"Fine. I’ll trust you."
The two sisters’ resolve hardened.
Both charged forward with their weapons of choice.
Their fists.
{Spectral Ghostly Fist Art: First Form – Phantasmal Fist}!
The three Vampires couldn’t detect what struck them before blazing punches of ghostly energy engulfed them.
Their souls shattered, and their bodies collapsed.
"It’s done," Maria said.
"That was quick!" Laura said. "Wow, I’m really strong..."
"See?" Maria smiled brightly. "Anyway, Creation of Life."
FLASH!
The three Vampires revived. Their souls were repaired, but they stared ahead with dull expressions.
Laura realized they were now under her sister’s control.
"What a terrifying power... I’m glad I’m her sister."
Using her three new recruits, Maria extracted information from them, nodded, and moved deeper with Laura.
The sisters began stealthily killing and reviving the entire branch of Vampires.
They found many converted members too—always lower-ranked, always looked down upon and humiliated.
Maria freed them from the Family Head’s control with her magic and explained the situation directly into their minds.
Some remained somewhat loyal and tried to fight but were quickly subdued.
Afterward, they willingly entered Maria’s Shadow Realm, waiting to be freed later.
While investigating, the pair uncovered the true nature of this Crimson Order branch.
They were a cult that recruited people in trouble—most often financial trouble—and turned them into Vampires, converting them into agents for this world.
At the same time, these agents were ordered to provide information about "suitable prey."
They usually avoided members of other upper-floor faction guilds, so they stayed safe.
But every other guild was fair game.
They targeted strong hunters, dragged them here, and drained their blood.
They had been doing this for twenty years.
Those whose blood was completely extracted met a fate worse than becoming vampires.
"Gaaahhhh!"
They turned into zombie-like ghouls—groaning with sharp teeth, monstrous, stripped of all reason.
Maria and her sister took them down as they descended deeper into the hideout. There were dozens.
No, perhaps hundreds.
"This is the worst... I recognize some of these people..." Laura said, her eyes filled with sorrow, shock, and burning anger.
Yet, using the Heavenly Demon Harmonious Heart Method, she soothed her emotions and stayed calm and composed.
"I know, but don’t worry. I know how to turn them back to normal," Maria said with a smile. "Let’s kill them first."
"Sure!" Laura roared. "Death must be mercy for these people turned into mindless creatures anyway!"
Both sisters unleashed blazing fists, cutting down dozens after dozens of ghoul hordes.
While fighting, Maria noticed some Vampires trying to escape.
Her Void Domain, however, didn’t allow it.
All teleportation devices deactivated instantly. Invisible barriers blocked their escape.
"I won’t let you escape."
Maria’s words echoed through the underground sewers. The fleeing Vampires froze in fear.
"Laura, go beat them up. I’ll take care of the ghouls."
"Okay!"
Laura was happy to be relied on. She rushed toward the Vampires she had already detected with her Martial Intent.
"Gotcha!"
Maria could hear the Vampires’ screams as her sister blew their heads apart with her fists.
As that happened, Maria infused the ghouls with her power.
And tried something.
"Arise."
She used Creation of Life on them. Their bodies twisted.
Bright, strong vitality surged inside, and their ghoulish forms changed—restoring them to how they once looked.
"It worked..."
Maria was stunned it could reverse such drastic transformations—as long as they were killed first.
No healing worked on them; it only burned them.
But when they died and were revived through this method, it succeeded!
"Ugh..."
"Ahh..."
"My... my head..."
Many regained consciousness but were confused.
Maria released a Sleep Spell using the power of Demonic Magic from the Sin of Sloth, forcing them all to fall asleep.
"We should call the police and something else and tell them we found all these people... they must have gone missing years ago."
As Maria considered that...
RUMBLE!
"What?!"
She sensed an intense demonic aura coming from a monstrous being not of this world.
"Shit, Laura!"
She rushed toward her sister and saw a red-colored artifact generating a small portal. A massive demon had emerged.
It was huge, muscular, with four giant horns and a long tongue.
And yet...
"Ah."
Laura’s foot was already above the demon’s head. The creature begged for mercy after most of its bones had been broken.
"Have mercy! I was just called here due to a contract...!"
"Hmph! You’re a fucking demon! You think I’m going to believe you?"
"Leave him, Laura. He’s not lying."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
Laura lifted her foot quickly. The demon crawled back through the portal while groaning and vanished.
"He just left?" Laura asked.
"He was summoned by a contract, but if his masters are dead, the contract is nullified. After realizing he couldn’t win, he decided to leave," Maria said with a smile.
"Aha! I guess that’s how it is with these guys?" Laura asked.
"Kind of," Maria nodded. "Creation of Life."
She used her power to revive all the Vampires Laura had killed, extracted their memories, and left them there.
"Okay, it’s done. I got all I wanted."
"Wait, what about the Vampires you revived?"
"They’re now my agents. They will work here to protect the world instead of terrorizing it."
"You can just order them that?!"
"Yeah! And with my blessing, they are stronger. They’ll also just consume beast blood instead."
"Well, that’s actually great, hahaha!" Laura laughed leisurely.
