Chapter 1871: Divine Blessings

"Ahem! As I was saying... I, uh, came here because Her Majesty called me?" Emeraldine asked the two divine beings before her.

"Yes, I did," the Fairy Queen nodded. "Dear Emeraldine, you are the first Saintess of Yggdrasil born in the last ten thousand years. Your birth was accompanied by a prophecy foretelling the end of this world and stating that you and your family must prevent it at all costs."

"Really?" Maria asked. "So what’s happening with Yggdrasil right now...?" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"It is most likely related to that," the queen replied. "Yggdrasil has become completely unapproachable."

"And I worry deeply about my mother," the tree added. "Someone with incredible power is trying to tamper with her—to rewrite her very being and change her into something else... something wicked."

"...!" Emeraldine seemed to panic. "We can’t let that happen!"

"Exactly. That’s why you’re here," the tree said.

"Can’t you two do something? You’ve lived for that long," Maria asked.

"We’ve done everything we can," the tree replied. "We even tried going there, but a dark force destroys our spirit vessels every time."

"Whoever is guarding her must be someone connected to Odin and the Gods," the queen said.

"We’re planning something against him," Maria explained. "In fact, it will happen very soon. Then we’ll find out what’s really going on."

"Y-You plan to go against the God King?!" the Fairy Queen exclaimed. "W-What?"

"We traveled the tower to do exactly this," Emeraldine said with a smile. "We’ve grown so much stronger, and we also know what Odin and his Gods have done to the world."

"We cannot let this continue any longer," Maria added. "And he was the one who orchestrated many people’s tragedies—especially mine..."

The Great Divine Spirit Tree and the Fairy Queen glanced at the three of them, their eyes full of pity.

"We cannot stop you, and we wish we could help as well, but..." the tree sighed. "This is all I can do for now."

"It’s fine," Emeraldine said with a gentle smile. "Any bit of help is appreciated."

"About your... child? Is he your child?" the tree asked. "He looks like a newborn, yet never in my long life have I seen such a powerful Spirit God."

"What are Spirit Gods?" Maria asked.

"As a goddess, you don’t know?" he replied, surprised.

"No," Maria said nonchalantly.

"W-Well, it’s never too late to learn something new," he said, nodding understandingly. "Spirit Gods are the ascended forms of Divine Spirits that have lived for tens of thousands of years. They are born very rarely and remain secretive, dwelling only in their home territories. They govern as small deities, protecting the nature and spirits around them, sometimes becoming patrons of forest races or being worshiped by villagers who settle near their domains."

"But they are usually ancient beings that have lived at least a hundred thousand years," the Fairy Queen explained. "However, your son... he is not even a year old."

"Yeah, he was born this way," Maria nodded. "He has incredible powers. Truly a talent blessed by the heavens, right?"

"He possesses the power to manipulate Divine Spirit Energy and shape it into Spirits, creating life on the spot," the tree said. "That alone is remarkable. If he can further master this ability, he could become a truly extraordinary Spirit God. Please, allow me to give him a gift as well."

"Oh, thank you so much," Emeraldine said.

The Great Divine Spirit Tree gently touched their foreheads, infusing his energy into them. In an instant, wood grew from their skin, completely enveloping them in a combined cocoon.

"What...?!" Maria panicked, glaring angrily at him. "Hey! What did you do to them?!"

"Please calm down," he said. "It is only a short metamorphosis. I have imbued my divine sap into their blood, granting them the Yggdrasil Bloodline. They will now be reborn as half-divine spirit trees."

"...?!" Maria stood shocked, her mouth falling open. "WHAT?! THAT’S A THING?!"

"Only the most sacred vessels chosen by my mother receive this privilege," the tree said with a gentle smile. "Ah, it should be finished by now. Indeed, they are truly talented. I apologize for startling you—perhaps it was too sudden. I am not very good at interacting with people, and my wife often scolds me for acting too quickly."

"Ah... well, I can’t detect anything negative... but that was my son! Be more careful next time and ask before you do something like that!" Maria said, still upset.

"Y-Your son?" the Fairy Queen asked. "You mean you had a child with another woman? How?"

"You two are literal spiritual beings who can have a child with someone of the same gender too, so don’t act like it’s the craziest thing in the world," Maria said, crossing her arms. "Ah, Emeraldine! Oberon!"

Shocked by her domineering personality, both the Great Divine Spirit Tree and the Fairy Queen stared as Maria hurried toward her wife and son.

The wood around them slowly fell apart, revealing both mother and child covered in golden sap, now reborn.

A pair of antlers made of divine spirit wood had emerged above their heads, signifying the Bloodline of Yggdrasil now flowing through their veins.

"Aeee! Hmm!" Oberon happily licked the sweet sap from his hands and arms.

"It was so sudden...!" Emeraldine said. "But this immense power! I can feel it coursing through my body... my connection with nature has been heightened tremendously."

"A-Are you two okay?! That damn tree did it out of nowhere and I got so worried! You’re fine, right?!" Maria asked desperately. "If they did something to you... then I guess I’ll be getting a lot of firewood today."

Maria glared at the Great Divine Spirit Tree’s avatar and materialized a giant black axe from her Nightmare Soul Heart.

"...?! Please calm down! We would never do such a thing!" the tree said quickly. "A-And that dark power... what is that?"

"I didn’t feel it before..." the Fairy Queen muttered.

"I am a Saintess of Hel," Maria explained. "My soul is Death, while my body is Life. I govern both elements."

She had made that up on the spot to sound impressive.

"Incredible! When was such a goddess ever born?" the tree wondered aloud.

"Where do you come from?" the Fairy Queen asked.

"Ah, well, it’s a long story," Maria said. "Come inside our Soul Realm and I can explain everything in a more relaxed setting. Shall we go in? You two need a bath."

"Y-Yes, we do, haha," Emeraldine giggled.

"Aeee!" Oberon began licking the sap from his mother’s hands again.

Maria opened a portal to her Soul Realm and stepped inside with her wife and son.

The Great Divine Spirit Tree and the Fairy Queen hesitated for a moment at the gate. Then the tree’s avatar detached from his main body and walked through, while the Fairy Queen followed, forming a spiritual vessel from her vast aura.

As both entered, their eyes widened at the breathtaking beauty of Maria’s immense Soul Realm—boundless greenery and resources stretching in every direction!

"W-What is this?!"

"It’s like a Divine Realm! No—like how Yggdrasil looked during the Golden Age of the Ancient Gods!"

Both husband and wife stood flabbergasted by the world’s splendor, joining Maria and Emeraldine on their journey back home as they learned more about this world from them.
