Reborn as a Transcendent-Chapter 751Book 3: : A Mysterious Maiden from the East
Looking at Yae-hime standing there with her arms crossed over her chest, her body trembling slightly, her face wearing an unmistakably blissful expression, Lili could not help but feel her eyelids twitch.
For some reason, the image of the Seventh Princess, Kastina, suddenly surfaced in her mind.
‘Little Hime has not gotten her brain fried by the lightning, right?’ The thought made her uneasy. If her Little Hime were to turn into someone like Kastina, what would she do then?
At this moment, Yae-hime felt indescribably euphoric, as though her body and soul had sunk into a river of honey, sweet and blissful beyond words. She felt as if she could take off and soar into the sky at any moment.
Just as she was about to ascend into pure bliss, her mind turning completely blank, the system’s voice rang out abruptly.
Ding! You have obtained Basic Lightning Force.
The cool, detached voice instantly yanked her soul back from midair, and her brain, which had momentarily lost all capacity for thought, slowly began functioning again.
‘Such terrifying lightning power, it nearly made me lose myself in pleasure…’ Yae-hime shuddered, a trace of lingering fear rising in her heart. If she had lost control for even a moment and exposed herself in front of Lili, it would have dealt a severe blow to her image.
Despite her usual carefree demeanor, she actually cared quite a lot about how she was perceived. A sidelong glance revealed Lili’s expression, one that was both relieved and complicated.
‘That is… rather subtle. Forget it, I will pretend I did not notice.’ Yae-hime gently closed her eyes and turned her attention inward, observing the changes within her body.
The most obvious change was her strength. Compared to before, it had increased by roughly one tenth. To gain such a significant boost without any change in level was nothing short of remarkable.
She had already been able to dominate opponents of the same level and fight above her rank. Now, she had undoubtedly become even more terrifying.
‘Hm? What is this?’ Suddenly, Yae-hime noticed a golden object the size of a marble spinning endlessly within her body. A profoundly mysterious aura seeped from it, giving her the illusion of standing at the very center of the vast cosmos.
She could clearly sense that this tiny bead concealed an astonishingly frightening amount of power. ‘Could it be that the lightning power condensed into this?’
“Little Hime, are you alright?” Lili’s worried voice cut through her thoughts.
“I am fine. Better than ever.” Yae-hime opened her eyes, a bright smile blooming across her delicate face, stunningly beautiful.
“That is good.” Lili finally relaxed her clenched fists, letting out a quiet sigh of relief. ‘Thank goodness. Little Hime did not get electrocuted into an idiot.’
If Yae-hime had known what Lili was thinking, she would have rolled her eyes without hesitation.
“There is really nothing wrong with your body?” Lili stepped closer, scrutinizing Yae-hime from head to toe.
Yae-hime sensed her condition carefully. Aside from that mysterious little bead, there was not the slightest abnormality to be found. In fact, her physical state felt so incredible that it was almost unreal.
Punching a Platinum-rank Desert Bison to death with a single blow would pose no problem at all.
“There is no issue. I am perfectly fine.” Yae-hime lowered her gaze to Lili and smiled.
She was far from indifferent toward that mysterious little bead, but there were still many matters demanding her attention. Any further investigation would have to wait.
**Crack!**
A crisp sound suddenly echoed through the area. Lili and Yae-hime tensed at once and turned toward the source. The glowing giant egg had split open, a clear fissure running across its surface.
Centered on that crack, fractures rapidly spread in all directions. Finally, with a dull bang, the entire shell shattered into pieces. In the blink of an eye, those fragments dissolved into particles of light and drifted away.
Lili and Yae-hime stared intently at the spot where the light dispersed, revealing a petite figure. She had jet-black hair, her eyes tightly closed, skin as pale and smooth as jade, and she wore a flowing pleated skirt that was somewhat tattered but clearly made of fine material.
A closer look revealed traces of burns scattered across her body. Her delicate little face was twisted in visible pain. The moment Yae-hime laid eyes on her, an inexplicable sense of closeness welled up inside.
It felt like encountering someone from home for the first time in a foreign land. No, that was not quite right. This was her own kin.
‘The Celestials… She is from the Celestial Clan!’
In an instant, she identified the girl’s race. That attire, that shared origin of aura, there was no possibility of mistake. This was the Celestial, a heaven-defying race that was not supposed to appear until more than two years later, nearly three years from now.
‘Why is a Celestial here? She should not have appeared at this time!’ Yae-hime clenched her fists, her face turning deathly pale as she stared at the little girl who looked as though she were merely asleep, her heart trembling uncontrollably.
On the other side, Lili faced the situation as if confronting a formidable enemy. Her small face was filled with severity, her nerves drawn as taut as a fully drawn bow. From this little girl, she sensed a faint yet unmistakable aura of danger. A threat great enough to endanger herself.
“Ugh!” At that moment, the little girl suddenly let out a cry of pain.
Immediately afterward, multicolored arcs of lightning surged across her body, snapping and crackling as they tore at the surrounding air.
“This is…” Seeing this, Yae-hime’s brows lifted, shock flashing across her face. Because the small bead within her body began trembling excitedly the instant lightning arcs burst from the girl.
There truly was a deep connection between the two. This Celestial maiden was clearly far from ordinary.
“She seems to be seriously injured. Perhaps she was struck by the Ninth Heaven’s Divine Lightning.” Lili unclenched her small hands, and the tension in her body eased accordingly.
With her breadth of knowledge, she had already more or less guessed the nature of the injury. On the Eastern Continent, heavenly lightning was known as the Ninth Heaven’s Divine Lightning. Only those who incurred the wrath of the heavens would be punished by such divine thunder.
This little girl must have committed some deed that angered both heaven and people alike, which was why she had ended up in such a state. Being entangled by that kind of divine lightning, staying alive could very well be more painful than death.
“This little girl should be from the Eastern Continent,” Lili continued. “Judging by the situation, she has been severely punished by the heavens.”
“A lightning tribulation eh…” Hearing the words Ninth Heaven’s Divine Lightning, Yae-hime could not help but think of the Nine Heavens Lightning Tribulation that cultivators had to face when ascending.
‘Could it be that she is a cultivator who has just gone through a tribulation, rather than a Celestials?’ The thought filled her with doubt.
In truth, Yae-hime herself could not clearly distinguish between native Celestials and those who ascended after cultivation.
‘It is not yet time for the Celestials to appear. By normal reasoning, this little girl is very likely a cultivator who has reached the point of ascension. But if that is the case… then the problem is, how could there be cultivators in this world!?’ The more she thought about it, the more something felt off.
Yet upon closer reflection, she realized there was nothing truly strange about it. This world was unimaginably vast. Even if a cultivation-based civilization existed somewhere within it, that alone was not particularly surprising.
In Yae-hime’s previous life, humanity had spent three whole years and still failed to explore even one-tenth of this world.
“Little Hime, what should we do with her?” Lili asked. If possible, she wanted to eliminate the little girl immediately. An unknown danger could not be left alive.
Yae-hime hesitated briefly, then said, “Let’s take her back and see how things turn out.”
“I think she is dangerous,” Lili warned.
“It’s fine. She is injured so badly that she won’t pose a threat to us for the time being,” Yae-hime replied calmly. Unlike Lili, she felt no sense of danger at all from the little girl. Moreover, her intuition told her that this little girl would be very useful.
