Reborn as Mr.CEO's Fat Wife-Chapter 932: Are You Sure It Isn’t Your Sister Bullying Me?
Chapter 932: Chapter 932: Are You Sure It Isn’t Your Sister Bullying Me?
Mary Scott suddenly spoke, causing David Locke’s movements to freeze. It took a while for him to continue, but his breathing became increasingly harsh, failing to calm down several times. He grew agitated, and even lost control over the strength in his hands, accidentally pulling off a button with a loud snap.
David stared blankly at the dark green button in his hand, his gaze falling upon the unfastened light-colored knit sweater, looking somewhat dazed.
Mary, both shy and annoyed, scoffed softly, "What are you doing?" Her tone was playful and carried no real threat, so she closed her eyes, wanting to pull the quilt over and sleep, but heard the man beside her softly murmur, "So beautiful."
"You..." Mary was furious, and she turned over, intending to face away from David. However, the man wrapped a long arm around her, murmuring in a coaxing tone, "Take it off, it’s more comfortable to sleep."
Mary glared at him, was he sure it wasn’t more convenient for him if she took it off?
But seeing David’s slightly hypnotized gaze, Mary inexplicably nodded.
David hadn’t expected Mary to agree. His fingertips trembled slightly as he watched her actions, a deep, dark light flickering in his eyes. When Mary lay back down, he wrapped his long arms tightly around her in an embrace.
Mary nearly suffocated, squirmed uncomfortably, and heard the hoarse command from the man above her head, "Don’t move."
The emotions in that voice were too intense for Mary to resist. She obediently dared not move, her mind uncontrollably recalling their first time together, feeling anxious at heart. Fortunately, the person beside her just held her tightly without any further actions.
But neither of them slept well that night. Mary was burnt by the man’s breath beside her, and as for David, Mary couldn’t guess why. But in the morning, when she helped him into the bathroom and waited outside for more than an hour, she finally saw him come out with a drenched head and a hoarse voice.
Mary remembered the scene she accidentally walked in on in the private hospital bathroom last time, feeling her face blush fiercely. She helped David into the wheelchair and then found an excuse to go outside, only to run into her brother opening the door.
Alfred Scott looked at Mary and then at the door behind her with a pained expression, "Sis, were you in the room with that Locke guy last night?"
"What nonsense, I was just taking care of him." Mary instinctively denied it.
"I didn’t say you did something else, why are you so eager to explain?" Alfred looked at his flustered sister, then suddenly took a step back to look her over, "This shirt you’re wearing isn’t yours, is it?"
"Huh?" Mary hurriedly looked at her shirt, and then quickly denied, "Why wouldn’t it be mine? It is mine."
"This could fit two of you in it, right?" Alfred said dismissively.
Mary, from being nervous earlier, now put on a brave face, "What’s wrong with that? Don’t you know the boyfriend look is trendy now? I just like this oversized shirt style."
Finishing, Mary brushed past her brother and went downstairs, abandoning any thoughts of returning to her room to change clothes. Alfred looked at his steadfast sister with a "do you think I’m an idiot" expression.
But Mary ignored him, continuing on her own.
Just then, David wheeled out, holding Mary’s broken button-up sweater, and met Alfred’s gaze, asking calmly, "Something wrong?"
Alfred was very annoyed, "Even like this, you’re bullying my sister, are you even human?"
"How can you be so sure I’m bullying your sister and not the other way around?" David raised his head, his gaze serious and earnest.
Alfred paused, eyes filled with disbelief, "How could that be?"
"You know your sister is almost thirty, right?" David remained calm.
Alfred nodded, feeling confused. His sister was three years short of thirty, but what of it?
But David didn’t explain further, smoothly rolling himself toward the rarely used elevator.
Alfred watched David leave, bewildered, and just then his roommate asked how he was feeling lately. With an academic spirit, Alfred asked his roommate, "Is there anything wrong with a woman being thirty?"
On the other side, there was curiosity about what happened.
Alfred explained briefly and saw his roommate typing continuously, and when he thought the other was about to write a long paragraph, a line popped up, "Don’t you know women at thirty are like tigers?"
Reading that, Alfred’s mind went blank. Though he was an adult male and didn’t catch on at first, he suddenly understood David’s meaning, looking back at the man in the wheelchair with the plaster cast, entering the elevator. Thinking of his slightly blue-tinted eyelids, he suddenly felt a trace of sympathy for his less favored brother-in-law.
He was already disabled, and his sister still wouldn’t let him go, truly... frightening.
David went downstairs and Mary was preparing breakfast. Seeing him leisurely wheel over, her face flushed, awkwardly asking, "What do you want for breakfast?"
Alfred came down and heard his sister ask her brother-in-law what he wanted to eat in a gentle voice. Goosebumps rose all over his body, remembering how his sister was just the opposite toward David yesterday, inadvertently thought of his roommate’s words. Looking at David, he increasingly felt that he seemed particularly worn out, like being drained of energy by a spirit, looking at his sister with an indescribable expression.
Feeling her brother’s strange look while talking to David, Mary asked, "What are you eating?"
"Huh? Anything, I’ll eat whatever brother-in-law eats." Alfred was startled and quickly answered.
Mary frowned, looking at her brother strangely. Since when did he have the same taste as David? Wasn’t he eating whatever David didn’t like yesterday? Why did he seem so strange today?
And for some reason, she felt like it was her illusion, but did her brother look a bit sympathetic toward David?
"Sis, you’re working hard, make something quick and easy." Alfred immediately explained upon feeling his sister’s probing gaze, though after saying she was working hard, he couldn’t help feeling something odd, awkwardly touching his nose, glancing at David’s leg in the cast. freewёbnoνel-com
Tsk tsk, even in that condition...?
David met Alfred’s gaze and gave the kid a cold look.
Alfred shivered from the cold and turned to Mary, "Sis, need help?"
"No, you go busy yourself, I’ll call you when it’s ready." Mary said without looking up.
Hearing he didn’t have to help his sister like usual, Alfred went back upstairs. Since the big fight between Mary and David, he didn’t like David much, deciding to stay in the villa to ensure David didn’t mistreat his sister. But now things seemed different from what he expected, and staying seemed to make him the third wheel.
After Alfred left, only David was left in the dining room. Mary looked up at the man, muttering, "Doesn’t Alfred seem odd to you today?"
The instigator glanced at her, "No."
"Oh." Mary didn’t say anything else, bowing her head to continue making breakfast, then felt the man not far away was still watching her, making her uneasy, "Shouldn’t you be busy too?"
"I’ll help you." Instead of listening to Mary, David directly wheeled into the kitchen.
Mary sighed, "I can manage myself."
The man, just entering the kitchen, suddenly got up and hugged her from behind, his deep voice with a hint of coaxing, "Go upstairs and change."
"Huh?" When hugged, Mary’s body was tightened, hearing David’s words puzzled, and looked back with confusion.
"See for yourself." David didn’t explain, just let Mary see for herself.
Mary looked at herself, finding nothing unusual, then heard the man’s voice behind her grow lower, "Dressed like this, I might imagine things, go change."
The last sentence clearly had a commanding tone.
Mary, "..."
Taking a deep breath, Mary quickly broke free from David’s hold, turned around, blushing, and hurried upstairs to the dressing room. Seeing herself in the mirror, she was slightly dazed.
She wore David’s shirt, and although she wore long pants, the shirt was too big, and slightly bending over would reveal too much. Moreover, she hadn’t noticed that a red mark had appeared on her collarbone, looking just like a hickey, and thinking of Alfred’s oddness in the morning, her face heated up, inwardly cursing the sly man, and then leisurely changed clothes.
After tidying up, Mary went downstairs, smelling the aroma of rice from the kitchen, rushing over curiously, finding the man had finished making breakfast and waved her over, "Come eat."
Seeing the served pumpkin millet porridge, omelets, and stir-fried vegetables, Mary was surprised, "You know how to make breakfast?"
"Just learned." David casually replied.
Mary was more surprised. She had prepared the pumpkin millet porridge ingredients beforehand, so she wasn’t surprised he could make it, but how did he manage to make the omelets and vegetables so well having just learned?
As if reading Mary’s confusion, David calmly answered, "My intelligence is intact."
Mary, "..." Why did she feel like he was insulting her?
After a while, Alfred came down, too, drawn by the smell. Seeing the two stubborn figures by the open kitchen, he couldn’t help asking cautiously, "Do I need to excuse myself?"
Mary snapped back, glaring at her brother, "Eat."
David chuckled softly, naturally calling Alfred, "Serve the dishes."
Though feeling a thousand times unwilling, considering David’s leg and his sister’s happiness, he reluctantly complied.
The three of them rarely had such a harmonious breakfast.
After breakfast, Alfred went upstairs to study, and David went to the study, not forgetting to bring Mary along.
After last night, Mary found she didn’t mind being alone with this man anymore. On the contrary, she felt a change in the atmosphere between them.
This change hadn’t occurred in their previous interactions, making her involuntarily desire more.
Furthermore, whether it was because of seeing David lying on the ground during the car accident, her mentality changed, fearing separation while wanting to part ways, she complied with the man’s wishes, being a retracted turtle, not thinking too much.
"Take a look at this." David handed Mary the printed script.
Mary took it, seeing the big title "The Doctors." Flipping it open, she heard David beside her, "We’re starting in March, time is tight, familiarize yourself with the script in advance and ask me if you have any questions."
"Mm." Mary didn’t expect David to be serious, having handed her the script. She skimmed through and saw quite a lot of screen time for the second female lead. Now it was already February, leaving less than a month, and she still had to continue recording "Detectives and Wilderness" and shoot Raspberry Snacks materials, leaving her with little time.
"Come here." Seeing Mary’s serious expression, David beckoned her over.
Mary had gotten used to being ordered around by David these days. Hearing him call her, she instinctively walked over, only to be pulled to sit on his lap the next moment.
Mary was startled, "What are you doing? Let me up right now!"
She was afraid of pressing down on the man’s plastered leg.
"It’s casted, can’t break it. You, on the other hand, don’t look like you just landed a big role. More like going to war." David teased, holding her down.
Mary didn’t know David’s leg’s real condition and dared not sit too firmly. But being held down, she couldn’t get up and had to turn to look at him, "Aren’t you afraid I’ll ruin your movie?"
Didn’t he look down on her before?
"Afraid, but you need to trust me." David rubbed Mary’s head, enjoying their intimacy like this.
As for the role, she fit the character’s image well, but her acting was lacking, truly not the best choice. But since the person in his arms chose acting, no matter her original intention, he hoped she could go further and more solidly. However, other directors wouldn’t patiently train her in their films, so he was her best chance.
Hearing David, Mary’s gaze showed confusion. Trust him? Suddenly recalling rumors from the set about Director Locke being good at training actors, but people ended up discussing bedroom training.
But hearing David talk so seriously, she realized she had probably misunderstood him before.
"Okay." With David bringing them to this point, Mary didn’t further refuse. In fact, she wanted to see her progress from two years in acting groups.
Smack!
"What are you doing?" As soon as Mary finished speaking, her lips were suddenly kissed by the man, turning her face bright red, looking at David with doe eyes.
"Kissing you." David was quite frank, seeing the little woman on his lap with sparkling eyes saying yes, he couldn’t resist.
Recently, David found Mary more and more adorable, especially her occasional playful demeanor, making his heart beat faster, unable to control his restless body.
Love and desire surged, burdensome yet sweet.
Mary looked at David shyly and angrily, "I only agreed to be responsible for the car accident, not to reconcile."
"But last night in my arms, you said otherwise." David said softly.
Busy all morning, Mary had long forgotten about last night’s events. When reminded, her face blushed, "I was taking care of you, it means nothing."
"Is that so?" David’s lips slightly curved.
Mary nodded fiercely like a rattle drum, "Of course."
David laughed lightly, leaning to her ear, "Our Moll is so adorable..." Paused, "Wanna feast."
Boom!
Mary’s mind went blank, stimulated to the point of having red edges in her doe eyes, glaring at David, "Dobbin Locke, you je..."
