Reborn as the Sweetheart of a Paranoid Boss-Chapter 587: Proposal 1: You Are My Sunset
Selena Kensington quickly said.
Her cake is still on top!
Sterling Norwood glanced at Selena, she was still insisting.
"Then drive to the training camp first, and then let Hope Norwood drive back."
Sterling had no choice but to come up with a compromise.
Selena agreed, "That’s fine."
Then she temporarily parted ways with Sterling.

When they reached the road leading to the training camp, Selena saw Hope by the roadside.
She parked the car and walked over.
After handing the keys to Hope, she whispered in her ear, "There’s a cake in the passenger seat. Put it in the fridge at the main house for me."
"Yes, ma’am."
After Hope agreed, Selena went around to Sterling’s passenger seat and got in.
"Let’s go."
After getting in the car, Selena said to Sterling.
Then, Sterling took Selena to the training camp.
The training camp was as usual. After getting out of the car, Sterling led her directly to the woods at the back.
When Selena walked in, she saw the wild feline, Awoo, waiting at the forest entrance.
Upon seeing Selena, Awoo softly called out ’Awoo’.
It seemed to be acting cute towards Selena.
Selena quickly walked over, squatted down in front of Awoo, and petted its head.
"Awoo, how are you here?"
Selena asked with a smile.
Although she knew Awoo couldn’t understand her, she couldn’t help but ask every time.
Maybe because she never saw Awoo as just a wild beast.
All living things have a spirit, and Awoo is a living being too.
’Awoo?’
Awoo tilted its head slightly and called out again.
It looked adorably fierce.
Selena smiled and stood up.
Then she looked at Sterling behind her.
"Why did you bring me here?"
Sterling stepped forward, took her hand, "You’ll know soon enough."
Selena’s curiosity grew, and she followed Sterling inside.
As they walked into the woods, Awoo followed closely behind them.
It stuck by Selena’s side relentlessly.
And Selena occasionally bent down to stroke its head.
After walking beside Sterling for over ten minutes without reaching the place he mentioned, Selena’s legs started to grow weary.
She had been standing in the cake shop for a long time, and the effort spent making the cake took its toll. She had only eaten breakfast all day, so her stamina was waning.
Seeing Selena’s pace slow down, Sterling stopped and looked at the person beside him.
Seeing Sterling look at her, Selena didn’t hide it.
She spoke coyly, "I can’t walk anymore."
Sterling chuckled softly, bent down, and carried Selena on his back.
Selena wrapped her arms around his neck from his back.
Her calves dangled slightly at Sterling’s sides.
She seemed very content.
"The last time you carried me was right here, too."
"Back then, you...tsk."
The scene reminded Selena of the previous incident when Sterling’s wild instincts surfaced.
"...Cough."
Sterling awkwardly cleared his throat.
Selena didn’t trouble him further, knowing it wasn’t in Sterling’s control back then.
Despite whatever he became, in the end, he would obediently listen to her.
Thinking this, Selena played with Sterling’s hair out of boredom.
Sterling continued to carry Selena for a few more minutes before they finally reached their destination.
It was a lake.
Water cascaded down from a waterfall above, and the turbulent streams calmed as they entered the lake.
The lake was so clear and pristine that Selena could vaguely see the scenery at its bottom.
Near the lake, a few wild creatures from the forest occasionally stopped by to drink and rest.
There was no obstruction across the lake, allowing Selena to see the outside sky and scenery.
By this time, the sun had gradually set, and the afterglow of the dusk cast a rosy hue over the lake.
Behind them lay a vast forest.
As the sun dipped westward, birds began to soar into the sky from within the woods.
"This place...is so beautiful."
Selena murmured.
Then she got off Sterling’s back and walked to the lakeside.
The creatures by the lake seemed unafraid of Selena, even making room for her as she approached.
Selena squatted at the lakeside.
She gently extended her hand and cupped some lake water.
The cool, clean water rested in her palm, and as Selena relaxed her fingers slightly, it trickled down her hand.
When the water finally drained, a lingering coolness remained on her hand.
Happy, Selena stood up and turned around.
She found Sterling watching her.
His gaze was focused and intense.
Selena was momentarily surprised.
The back of her neck seemed to heat up under such a fiery gaze from Sterling.
Deep down, she had a hunch about something.
Was Sterling preparing a surprise for her?
Of course, Sterling couldn’t have forgotten her birthday, nor would he do nothing.
While she was preparing a surprise for him, he was also preparing one for her.
Thinking about the surprise Sterling had prepared for her, Selena felt a mix of curiosity and an irrepressible joy.
She almost couldn’t help but smile.
But Selena thought, since Sterling had put in so much effort, she should cooperate with him.
So she met his gaze with a calm expression.
Just when Selena was about to speak up, unable to resist Sterling’s eyes, he shifted his gaze.
He looked beyond Selena, "Look behind you."
Instinctively, Selena turned around.
There was nothing behind her.
With no obstructions ahead, she had a clear view of the distant mountains.
The sun was almost completely set now, with darkness creeping in on the horizon.
When Selena turned, the last sliver of the rosy dusk disappeared into the western mountains.
In just seconds, she witnessed the sun’s complete descent, leaving only a dim glow in the sky.
All around was silence, as if the earth had fallen into slumber.
"Did you want me to see the sunset?"
Selena turned back to look at Sterling behind her.
With the dimming light, Selena couldn’t clearly see Sterling’s expression.
Sterling walked over and stood beside her.
"No."
He shook his head slightly.
"I just wanted to tell you, you are my sunset."
"No matter where I am, where I go, I will always return to you."
Sterling’s voice was deep and husky.
Especially in such a quiet summer night, his voice seemed to carry a tempting intensity.
It felt like a devil enticing an enchanting maiden.
Each word made Selena’s heart burn.
