Reborn ghost seeing lady is pampered by her ex husband-Chapter 621: Abraham Spellcaster’s secret.
Even Maureen and Rekha recognized the guardian who was now a ghost. Unlike Obed, this ghost was minding its business, acting aloof and impatient. He was ready to hightail it to the afterlife.
Tilting his head in assent, Cunningham stared back at his people. "We live in an isolated forest; supernatural creatures of all kinds are always lurking around. As elders we sat down after your last visit Rufus and made up our minds to leave our children with a way out so that they could protect themselves and our community. We shared the knowledge about the academy with all children that came to the age of eighteen and had the gift of magic.
We also did not stop the ones interested in joining the academy from doing so. I guess we did not do enough because we could not defeat the kind of demons that attacked us." He paused suddenly; his eyes pooled with bitter tears. "I do not understand why the demons attacked us or their reasons for taking my children." Cunningham's voice weakened with a tremor.
Maureen almost blurted the reason, but Phoebe stopped her. The conversation between Rufus and Chief Cunningham was best left between the two of them.
"We are all under attack Cunningham, the academy, the founding families and world at large. It is the supernatural war all over again, the very one that our ancestors fought. As you can see, just now a sorcerer invaded my home and we were lucky to survive. I think that I know the reason as to why your settlement was attacked." Rufus answered. "For years, the demons planted spies everywhere, I suspect that someone at the academy talked about your settlement and that is how they found you.
They have been very busy strategizing and searching for the mystic keys. Even after all these years they just couldn't get their hands on all of them. Azur has like two if I am not mistaken, the one from the academy and the one he took from the Montgomery's." He paused shaking his head.
"I did hear about the Montgomery's betrayal of our kind but how did these demons get their hands on the key at the academy? It was supposed to be guarded by the strongest magic and mechanisms. To break those spells which were woven by the ancient witches would be death. Who...or from which family of the seven witches did this traitor come?" Cunningham asked.
Rufus let out a heavy sigh. "The Spellcasters."
Some gasps collectively rose from those that were eavesdropping. If it was truly the Spellcaster's why had none of them been at the trial? The Mayfair's were particularly worried about Sabrina, hoping that none of this involved her.
"It was Abraham Spellcaster, he helped the demons by using his light and spells to break the ancient spells and assist the demons in getting that key. It turns out that he is also the one that used the crystal at the academy to break Azur out of the supernatural prison twenty something years ago. That is why the spellweavers could not tap into their light, their leader had used their abilities for evil. The man confessed it all right before he dropped dead." Rufus explained.
"Abraham is dead!" Someone exclaimed.
He was not the only one in shock, others were the same way. Not a whisper of Abraham's death had escaped the walls of the Spellcaster manor.
Maureen figured that it was because having someone die in your family right now was not a good thing. Nobody would attend the funeral, and everyone would assume that you were all involved with demons. This was because every single death in the founding family's since Rufus started cleaning house was demon related.
It looked like there would be a lot of secret funerals and burials in the coming days. In fact, there would be no burials but secret cremations which would be followed up by sudden vacations and deaths overseas.
To Phoebe, most of the questions about how evil had entered the academy so quickly were answered. Abraham was probably one of Azur's spies or he had made a deal. All the demons that had been caught pretending to be students in the academy had managed to get in because the crystal could not sense them and therefore could not alert the ones that were on the side of good.
"I have a final plan to cleanse the entire school of evil completely, Azur's minions must feel safe since it looks like everyone has been captured but they do not know that Abraham confessed. I plan to wipe them all out tomorrow." Rufus announced.
Tomorrow? Everyone wondered, it was the most exciting day of winter_the annual academy search for gifted children. What plan did Rufus have?
Cunningham whistled. "Good luck with that but you are yet to tell me why the demons took my granddaughters or how you plan to get them back." He directed the conversation back on track.
Rufus sighed. "There is some knowledge that we had no idea about which only came to light recently. The mystic keys were not the only relics that could open and free Ravana from her prison." His revelations sent shock waves among those that were not aware. "There is another way that the witches kept to themselves, the sacrifice of a pure human's heart on the night of the full blood moon." Rufus paused, steeling himself before telling him the inevitable.
"What has that got to do with me? Or my clan?" Cunningham asked. Even as the ghost asked the question, it had a dreadful feeling about the answer which it was going to get.
"I am sorry Cunningham; your grand daughters are the only descendants of the seven witches those with pure hearts." Rufus said with sadness for he hated to be the bearer of this bad news.
Cunningham's wife let out a whimpering sound. "Are you saying that because we taught our grandchildren to be good people, we unintentionally made them sacrificial lambs? How could this be? What kind of reward is this from the universe?" She clutched onto her chest.
Phoebe quickly rushed to the woman's side to comfort her. "I am sorry." She said, suspecting that the dead girl was one of the twins.
"It doesn't matter what they are, you have to save them. That is why I came here! To ask you that." Cunningham implored.
Just when David was about to tell the man about the death of one of his daughters, a shaky sound came from an intruding ghost that was just joining the party.
"Granddad?" The ghost called out.
