Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Black on Black_1

"Eating too much will cause a surge of blood and qi, leading to an explosion of the body and death," Shangguan You said coldly, glancing at Zhong Mingyang. A freak is a freak. Finishing a bottle in one gulp—he’s seeking his own death.

Suddenly, bursts of gunfire reached them from afar. Shangguan You grabbed Zhong Mingyang’s hand, and with her entire body, soared from the ground, rushing toward the source of the gunfire.

Zhong Mingyang felt the wind brushing past his face as he seemed to fly up into the sky, but then he landed steadily back on the ground. "Wait here," Shangguan You said.

Leaving behind those words, Shangguan You left him in a concealed spot, and her white figure darted rapidly toward the clashing parties. Zhong Mingyang stood there, dazed and stunned. He had experienced too many shocks and stimuli this evening. He felt as if he had entered a fantasy world. Scenarios that should only exist in novels and on television were actually happening right before his eyes.

Shangguan You submerged completely into the space, viewing the spectacle from within.

On the wide avenue, two groups of people were heatedly facing off. Police officers in uniform had the Feilong Gang’s dozen vehicles and over a hundred people entirely surrounded. It seemed the recent gunfire had been the police issuing a warning.

Shangguan You’s eyes flashed, and a cold smile couldn’t help but curve her lips. What use were these police officers showing up now? The transaction was already complete. It was too little too late, and utterly useless.

"Police are handling a case; everyone put down your weapons!" a young police officer, megaphone in hand, warned Long Hua’s group loudly. At the same time, all the police officers drew their guns, aiming together at the people of the Feilong Gang in the middle.

"Big Brother, what should we do?" Inside the sedan, everyone’s eyes were on Long Hua, just waiting for his command to make their move. These cops... they showed up after his transactions every single time. Without a doubt, there was a mole among them. But so what if there was? They still couldn’t do anything to him.

"Get out and let them search," Long Hua said with a cold laugh, his mouth curving into a chilly smirk. These cops have some nerve, following him all the way here. But what good does it do them? What evidence do they have to prove he’s been trafficking arms?

"Big Brother," hacker said anxiously.

"Get out. Let them search," Long Hua reiterated indifferently. "If they don’t find any leads, they’ll have to give us an explanation; otherwise, there’s no need for the police station to remain open." He was the first to step out of the car, his dark figure leading the way.

Long Hua, twenty-six years old, had taken over the Feilong Gang three full years ago. In those three years, using iron-fisted methods and a systematic approach, he had whipped the Feilong Gang into strict order, making everyone completely obedient. The arms trade had grown ever larger, earning him the title of B City’s top arms dealer, while the Feihu Gang had become the top narcotics dealer.

Long Hua, standing nearly two meters tall, positioned himself under the pitch-black night sky. He crossed his arms, the night wind tousling the hair on his forehead. His shining eyes held a chilling amusement, cold enough to make one shiver, as he coldly watched the police search one vehicle after another.

"Officer Luo, have we done anything illegal?" Long Hua asked, his smiling eyes scanning the uniformed officer before him, his voice laced with icy sarcasm.

"Why are you out in the middle of the night with so much cash and over a hundred people?"

"It can’t be helped. This young master is blessed with an abundance of money, so wherever I go, I like to carry cash," Long Hua said, glancing at the two cases full of money, a smile playing on his lips as he spoke.

"What? Is carrying five million in cash out an offense now? As for these people, they are naturally here to ensure my safety. You know, many people are constantly scheming to take my life, so of course, it makes sense to bring extra bodyguards. Officer Luo, is it also illegal to have a hundred bodyguards and five million in cash to enjoy the sea view?"

"HAHAHA, clueless cops! It’s already a modest amount for our Big Brother to carry five million around. What if Big Brother were to spend a few hundred million—would that be illegal too?"

"That’s right! We should be concerned about Big Brother’s safety. Perhaps Officer Luo should dispatch a few men to protect our Big Brother."

Following Long Hua’s words, hacker and the others burst into laughter.

Officer Luo’s face had darkened considerably, his hands clenched tightly. He really wanted to step forward and punch Long Hua’s laughing face to the ground, but without evidence, he could only watch helplessly. He knew for certain that the arms deal had just taken place, yet he had not a shred of proof. The frustration simmered inside him; it was unbearable.

"Boss, nothing found."

"Boss, all clear..."

Hearing the reports from his subordinates, Officer Luo’s expression darkened once more. If the higher-ups had approved his request faster, he would have caught them red-handed. Instead, he was always one step behind, arriving only after the deals were done.

"Officer Luo, may we go now?" hacker asked, pointing a finger at Luo Tong’s chest, arrogantly staring at Luo Tong’s livid face.

Luo Tong knocked hacker’s hand away. His righteous face set in a fierce glare at the arrogant Long Hua, he warned, "Long Hua, don’t get cocky. There will come a day when I find the evidence to bring you to justice under the law! Withdraw!" Luo Tong shouted, and all the policemen got into their vehicles.

"HEHEHE, Officer Luo, I look forward to that day," Long Hua laughed loudly, his slender body slipping into the car. The dozen vehicles then sped off.

"Boss, what do we do? We’re sure to receive a complaint from Long Hua tomorrow."

"Boss, another failure. How do we explain this to the Chief?"

"Let’s go. Back to the station," Luo Tong said, taking one last, deep glance at the receding cars before getting into his own vehicle and leading his large group of men away, disappearing into the night.

"These police are so incompetent," Shangguan You said, materializing with a flash as she emerged from the space. She had thought there would be a ferocious battle, allowing her to gain some advantage and make Long Hua willingly follow her, but alas, there was no opportunity for her to make a move.

"Miss, this Luo Tong is indeed a rare talent," Zhong Mingyang explained. "It’s said that he was transferred here a year ago, specifically to lead the drug enforcement division. Since his arrival, he’s cracked numerous cases. His main focus has been on the Feilong Gang and the Dragon Tiger Gang, always waiting for an opportunity to catch Long Hua and Chu Yi. Unfortunately, time and again, the evidence falls short, and he can’t touch either of them. But his spirit is admirable. He never gives up. Like tonight, he received the news early on, but because Long Hua has people in the city police department, the approvals didn’t come through in time. By the time it was authorized, the deal had concluded, and he was left to swallow the loss in silence."
