Reborn: The Return of the Villainous Mr. Liu-Chapter 1213: Crash party (2)
Lin asked, "...Does it look like I will get fooled by a serial killer?"
"Bro has a very pure heart."
Alix chimed in. "It will be too late before she brings out that knife and stabs you right through your stomach?"
"Who the hell dares to stab my future son?"
"Enough," Lin said and everyone went quiet. He looked at his brother and Zhong Sihan and said, "We need to talk."
"And so do we," Shui’s eyes narrowed.
They split up into two groups to have a serious ’conversation.’
"Seriously, what are you three doing here?"
Jin raised his hands. "Don’t blame me. Sis dragged me into this."
"Don’t worry, I am a willing participant," Alix lazily said.
Shui smiled. "Thanks so much for your honesty, Alix. Guess you are getting too free time at school to spend your time spying."
She blinked twice. "The school is planning a fun trip for the kids, so I thought why not check out this amusement park? It’s called being a dedicated and thorough teacher, you know?"
"And you thought to come with sis?"
Nuo raised her hand. "I was getting bored at home!"
She glared. "Sis come out with the truth already or I really won’t talk to you anymore."
"Well..." she mumbled. "I was curious about this mystery man...My antenna caught the signal that something was going on with your love life!"
"You have an antenna?"
She flipped her hair proudly. "Of course. Who do you think I am? I can smell fun- love from miles away. But never did I imagine that it would be Hou Lin! How long has it been going on for? Is it the time he brought sandwiches? Or with your painting exhibition? I want to know so many things but I couldn’t ask you. I thought it would make you uncomfortable."
"And spying won’t?"
"It wouldn’t have if you wouldn’t have caught us," she rolled her eyes with absolutely zero remorse.
"And now that we are caught, we should leave and leave them alone," Jin said.
"You can leave. I want to know the story," Alix leaned forward.
"..."
"There is not much story really."
"Of course there is. It’s not like you met him today. There’s history and there’s feelings. I am - was an editor. I know lots of stuff."
"...You are quite talkative today," Jin grimaced.
"Love stories are always nauseously entertaining. Why do you think I entered the publishing industry? And considering the fact that I know both Shui and Lin, I am dying to know who popped the question."
"I know right?" Nuo clapped once. "That’s what I have been trying to tell my brother, but he doesn’t understand me!"
Jin’s brow twitched.
"Wait, wait, wait!" Shui stopped their bullet train of conversation. "It’s not...I mean between us, it’s nothing really..."
She felt exasperated. "It’s nothing like that...between us."
Alix and Nuo stared.
"...Not yet."
Nuo gasped.
"No, no, hold onto that reaction please!" She cried. "It’s just that we are...figuring things out."
"So you like him?" She beamed.
"I...I mean..."
"Say no more~ This elder sister understands everything! Hou Lin is a good man! I approve!"
Her cheeks reddened for some reason. "I mean it’s not yet..."
Alix casually sipped on her bubble tea. "You two hide it well. I had felt something during the second exhibition but other than that, I hadn’t seen it coming."
Her eyes darted towards Jin and narrowed. "Just like a certain someone here."
Jin paused. "What did I do?"
"I should ask what you did not do to earn the title of piece of shit?"
He looked away and promptly remained quiet. He focused on the other side where Lin was, apparently quite displeased with Zhong Sihan’s entrance.
"Please leave."
Zhong Sihan raised a brow holding his own bubble tea in his hand. "No. I wanna see how your date goes."
"There will be no date to ’go’ if you continue to be here," his eyes squinted.
"Why not?"
"We want privacy."
"Are you going to do something naughty?"
"Greatuncle..." Ruyi cleared her throat and urgently shook her head.
Lin simply said, "We aren’t there yet to do naughty things."
"Good. Because I don’t agree."
"Excuse me?"
"Your and Han Shui’s relationship. I don’t agree."
"Why not? Isn’t she your best friend’s granddaughter?"
"Tian is not my best friend."
"Doesn’t look like it."
"I don’t care what you think."
"The feeling’s mutual. I don’t care what you think either."
"Don’t be so rude towards your father!"
"You are not my father."
Cai pinched his brows in between and sighed. "Ah this is getting too out of hand."
"I will...!"
He looked at his side and saw Ruyi hesitate as she clasped her hands together.
"You will?"
She wanted to say that she would take Zhong Sihan somehow so that Lin and Shui could resume their date but instead she said, "We all can have fun here..."
She immediately bit her tongue. She had only wanted a reason to spend some time with Cai, which was the entire reason for going along with Zhong Sihan’s whims today.
Zhong Sihan smirked. "At least somebody is talking sense here."
"No. I was saying that," she coughed, "We will have our own fun time here without intruding upon their date..." she eyed Cai as she said that.
Lin nodded. "As long as you stop spying."
"Where is the fun in that?" Zhong Sihan frowned. "I cannot even get on any rides here."
"Eat cotton candy and keep quiet."
He sneered. "You know, for a person who denies becoming my son at every point, you surely act like one."
"That’s just your imagination."
"Do you love Han Shui?"
Lin stared at him. At that point, Cai and Ruyi’s ears perked up.
"I have a crush on her."
"You are not a teenager so cut that cheesy crap," he grimaced. "Zhong Sihan’s son cannot be a coward."
"We are figuring it out."
"Also cowardly."
"What do you know anything about dating?"
"I only know that by the end of today, either she is your girlfriend or not."
"That’s not how this works."
"That’s exactly how I will make it work."
