Chapter 254: To Good To Be True

The two just stand there under the moonlight for a few seconds before Isla’s face starts turning red as she realizes that she just told someone she just met a few days ago that she loves him.

And anyone with some common sense would know that’s a big no-no.

Isla also realizes that she clearly messed up by uttering those words, even though they are her truest feelings.

’Oh my god! What have I done? What if he thinks I am weird, or worse, crazy...’ Isla starts panicking on the inside, and even though she is half right about Adam thinking she is crazy, she really doesn’t have to panic.

She quickly backs away from him while her mind tries to come up with all sorts of reasons to undermine what she just said to him.

Adam turns around to look at her, only to see Isla panicking about the statement she just made.

Seeing her like this amuses Adam as he really doesn’t think what she did was that bad. Sure, if someone says to someone else that they love them after their very first day, it’s definitely weird, and even a red flag.

But it’s different with Adam. He doesn’t mind red flags because he seeks control over people around him, and with control comes power that’s rarely questioned.

In fact, her red flag is almost nonexistent in Adam’s eyes; the only thing she did was confess her love for him, and with everything he did to her on his bed, it’s no surprise that she completely gave herself to him.

Feeling Adam’s gaze on her, Isla got even more nervous. "I...i... I didn’t mean it like that... No... I mean... I meant... What I was trying to say-" Isla struggled to voice her words.

She immediately went back to being the nervous wreck she was when she tried to approach Adam for the first time.

Luckily for her, Adam decides to step in and help her.

He takes a step closer and grabs her hands, and pulls her in a little closer, causing Isla to shut up and meet Adam’s gaze.

"It’s okay... You don’t need to explain yourself... It’s how you feel. There is no reason for you to hide it, and even if you did, it would be useless because I can already see the way you look at me," Adam says.

As Isla hears his words. A sense of calmness washes over her, and then her heart starts beating rapidly with excitement as she realizes that Adam just accepted her love confession.

Of course, she didn’t hear it back from him, but she doesn’t expect it either. It is she who fell in love with him the moment her eyes looked at him, not the other way around.

She is just glad that Adam didn’t find her confession weird. As for getting a confession back from him, well, she is willing to play the long game and make Adam fall in love with her.

Adam smiles, seeing Isla’s mood lift as he doesn’t want a gloomy girl spending the night with him.

"Come," He says as he grabs her hand and walks her back to the bed and makes her sit down.

Isla takes a seat and curiously watches as Adam walks up to a table and rolls it towards her.

Her eyes sparkle with interest as she sees the thing on the table, it’s a digital piano.

Being an indie musician, she is well aware of the instrument in front of her. It’s an expensive piece of music tech that’s getting a lot of hype.

If their band had a piano player, then maybe they would have bought one for themselves as well.

Adam lowers the table to Isla’s current waist height and joins her on the bed, sitting right next to her.

"I did promise you I would play you something," He says, smiling at her.

It is now that Isla remembers the conversation they had. It was because of her request to listen to Adam play that he asked her out on a date.

But then she was so consumed by Adam and the sex that she completely forgot about the real reason the date was initially planned.

She even feels a little embarrassed for being the one who forgot about it.

Adam smiles and places his fingers on the keys, ready to play.

His fingers press in the keys, and the notes start ringing, and before a rhythm is set and the tune takes shape.

And as Adam plays the music, Isla’s eyes widen with surprise.

She sits next to Adam and silently listens to him play.

"It’s our music..." she says softly, meeting Adam’s gaze. Adam just smiles and continues playing.

Isla can’t believe how perfect Adam’s play is. It’s as if he practiced this song for years, every note, and its timing is perfect.

A minute later, Adam finally stops by, ending the music with perfection.

Isla just stares at him, bewildered by how good it was.

"That... was amazing," She finally speaks.

"You said you just got into playing; you lied," Isla says.

"I didn’t lie, I did just learn how to play," Adam says with a smile.

"Then how are you able to play our music so perfectly. It takes days and days of practice to just get the rhythm and timing right," Isla says.

"I am not lying. I just have a moral sense of music, and my muscle memory is good. I am already very familiar with the key layout. So I went with what I heard at your concert," Adam says.

Hearing his words, Isla’s eyes widen even more, and it does make sense. The rhythm and tone of the music he just played were exactly similar to the one she and her band sang, not the commercial honed one.

"So you are telling me, you managed to play our song only after hearing it once? And that to perfectly?" Isla asks, bewildered.

"Sure, if you say it like that. But I don’t think it was anywhere near perfect," Adam says, and he is not being braggadocios about it

"Are you kidding me? That sounds amazing, just like our version," Isla says, being genuine in her compliment.

"Well, it did sound exactly the same, but it doesn’t have the soul that your performance had when you were up there on the stage. When I saw you singing up there, putting your heart and soul into your music, you looked amazing. I can not replicate that," Adam says.

Hearing his words makes Isla’s heart skip a beat. And as she sits there next to him, looking at his handsome face, she can’t help but lean in and kiss him again.

Adam, of course, kisses her back, and as the kiss escalates into something more, Adam pushes Isla back down on the bed, and they start fucking again.

Isla’s moans fill the room along with other sounds of sex.

After making Isla cum two more times and pumping her full with his cum, Adam rolls off Isla with a satisfied smile on his face.

Isla, on the other hand, is breathing deep and heavy, her chest rising up and down while she is covered in sweat. Her eyes are glazed out while she has this goofy, blissed-out smile on her face.

Her legs continue to tremble, and her body would occasionally twitch from the residue of the mind-blowing orgasm she just had.

She takes a few minutes to recover, and when she does, she rolls back into Adam’s arms and rests her head on his chest.

Adam looks down at Isla and admires her beauty. Even though her hair is all messy, and her face is red from the rough sex they just had, she still looks beautiful.

In fact, she looks even more beautiful in her eyes because now she belongs to him.

He gently caresses her face as she rubs her face against his hand like a cat.

Isla looks at Adam with her big, beautiful blue eyes and begins wondering if this moment is real. Is this night real? Is Adam himself real? Because tonight feels like the best night of her life.

"You can’t be real," she even says it out loud while staring into his eyes.

"Oh? And why do you say that?" Adam asks as he continues to softly stroke her cheek with his thumb.

"Look at you. You are extremely handsome, tall, and strong. You are confident. You are nice. You know how to fight, and from what I heard, you are really good at it. You also play piano, almost perfectly, and you are the most amazing lover any woman could ask for. I can’t even feel my legs right now, but my body is still feeling amazing from the orgasm.

No one is perfect. It’s as if you are too good to be true. It’s like a psychopath pretending to be the perfect guy," Isla says, sounding a little worried.

Because she wants this to be true. She wants Adam to be the man he has turned out to be till now. If this all changes, if Adam does a flip and she learns that everything is a lie, then she will be devastated.

Adam bursts out laughing, hearing Isla’s concern, making Isla pout.

"You got it all wrong, I am not perfect," Adam says, meeting her gaze.

"Everything you mentioned about me, yes, is true. I am very physically gifted, and that gives me the reason to be the confident person I am, but that’s just the surface. There is more to me, and I have my flaws, and whether you will still be interested in me after finding out those flaws will be completely on you," Adam says.

Isla becomes curious as she hears this. She starts wondering what Adam’s flaws are because till now she hasn’t seen any.
