The Web trap skill was obtained from the spider he had previously killed while the berserker’s Endurance skill was from the Hobgoblin he had just defeated.

Ray could feel a familiar warmth coursing through his body as an influx of information flooded his mind, allowing him to comprehend exactly how his two new skills could be applied.

But before he could begin trying out his new skills, Ray suddenly realized something very important.

Monsters who had blended in with the darkness of the night actually surrounded him.

Turning around, Ray noticed that he had been surrounded by twelve Dire rats.

Each Dire Rat had blended in with their environment, ensuring that Ray couldn’t notice their presence until now.

They each had golden eyes that glowed and their fur was as black as the night sky, but right now, every one of them had only one target in sight, and that was Ray.

Since Ray had killed one of their own, who had simply been aiming for the food in the human settlement’s storage building, the rats couldn’t turn a blind eye to the death of their comrade, and so, they had come for revenge.

They all charged forward with a speed that Ray could barely keep up with.

But he swiftly tightened his grip on his sword before activating his <<Swift Strike>> ability.

The squeaks and cries of the rats that followed echoed in the night sky as Ray swiftly dispatched each of them. Afterwards, he noticed a new set of notifications pop up in front of him.

Ray was still breathing heavily as he stared at the string of words displayed in front of him.

He had just defeated twelve Dire Rats on his own and his body was covered in blood, so it had really taken a lot out of him, especially since he’d been fighting for several hours now.

Ray sighed softly before noticing Mira heading towards him.

Mira had spotted Ray battling with the monsters so she came over to help but before she could get close to him, he had already dealt with the rats on his own.

Turning around, Ray noticed the wound on Mira’s arm. "You’re hurt?"

"It’s just a small cut. It’s not deep." Mira placed her hand over the wound on her left forearm which had now been roughly bound with a strip of cloth torn from her sleeve.

Ray wanted to ask if she was hurt anywhere else, but before he could open his mouth to ask his question, one of the villagers yelled loudly, drawing everyone’s attention to him.

"Guys!! Something big is heading this way!!" He pointed towards the forest and Ray swiftly activated his <<Void Sense>> ability, allowing him to easily detect multiple presences stepping out of the forest.

They were Dire Bears, three to be exact, and each of them easily weighed around five hundred kilograms.

They were massive and their broad shoulders easily pushed through the forest edge, destroying anything that lay in front of them.

Behind these three monstrosities were monsters even more terrifying than the Dire Bears.

Ogres.

Not one, not two, and definitely not three, but five large Ogres.

"Goddess, have mercy on us." A villager muttered as he took in the sight of the five monsters stepping out of the forest with some of them holding a huge tree bark in their hands as though it were a mere stick.

Now it made sense to everyone why the monster tide had truly begun earlier than the previous monster tide attacks.

Never before had two hobgoblins evolved into ogres, but from what they could see right now, five ogres had been born at the same time, causing the whole forest to be in an uproar that forced other monsters out of their homes, in search of food and safety.

Pushing the thought aside for now, Ray and Mira instantly spread out to individually tackle the Dire Bears on their own.

While running, Ray noticed something briefly, but he didn’t think too much about it, and that was Mira’s speed.

If he could see her stats right now, Ray was certain that she must have leveled up already because from what he could see, her speed was certainly not the same as any unawakened fighter he had encountered.

Although, she had been battling monsters upon monsters for hours now, it was not surprising to see that her speed had skyrocketed.

Her strength would have most definitely increased as well, but Ray didn’t linger on these thoughts as he redirected his attention back to the Dire Bears.

His gaze landed on the biggest one out of the three, and Ray could see how huge the monster was.

Its eyes were small and its huge body was covered in thick fur.

Ray swiftly activated his <<Berserker’s Rage>> skill and a familiar surge of warmth coursed through his body, muting his pain receptors while heightening his strength as he charged forward. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

The Dire Bear rose onto its hind legs, allowing it to reach nearly three meters tall.

The bear roared as it swiped at Ray, but Ray went under the bear’s attack before slashing his Frost blade right across its chest cavity twice in rapid succession, then plunging it into its core.

The bear instantly came down on top of Ray, but he swiftly activated his newly acquired skill <<Iron Body>>, allowing the crushing weight of the bear to only land on Ray’s enhanced hardened skin.

He rolled free and managed to come out from under the creature.

Now , he was bleeding from his forehead, but that was because the bear’s jaw had grazed him while it had been falling.

Ray swiftly turned the bear over and pulled out his sword from the bear’s chest because it was still stuck in its core.

But the moment he pulled his sword out, a new notification popped up in front of him.
