Regressor's Harem Of Vengeance-Chapter 53. Monster Tide [6]: Ray Vs Three Ogres.
Ray’s eyes widened in surprise as he read the words displayed on the screen.
He never could have imagined the bear having a skill like this.
’It’s a good thing I aimed at its core and nowhere else.’
If he had simply being aiming for the bear’s limbs, the battle would have probably taken a lot longer than it did.
Pushing this thought aside for now, Ray’s eyes widened when he suddenly sensed the second Dire Bear charging from behind and trying to sneak up on him.
He swiftly turned around and launched his sword straight at the bear’s fore limb, forcing it to roar in agony as it took a quick glance at the sword impaled into its flesh.
It raised its head back to Ray but Ray had leaped and activated three of his skills simultaneously.
<<Berserker’s Rage>>, <<Power Strike>> and <<Iron Body>>.
With all three skills activated, Ray landed a clean punch on the bear’s head, crushing its skull into tiny pieces but he swiftly lunged his sword into the bear’s core to prevent it from regenerating.
Well, that was if it could regenerate like the previous one, but since he didn’t know if it could regenerate or not, Ray didn’t wanted to wait to find out, so he plunged his sword into the bear’s chest as soon as he could.
But no notification popped up in front of him.
"Hmm, I guess it didn’t have any skill after all."
Ray turned around and noticed Mira had taken care of the last Dire Bear, meaning that the five ogres were all that remained for them now.
[Congratulations! You’ve leveled....]
Ray waved off the level up notification in front of him.
He was pleased to see that he had successfully leveled up, but right now, he had other important things to be focused on.
Turning his attention back to his surroundings, Ray noticed Mira barely giving herself a moment of rest.
She was already charging forward at a really tall ogre, so Ray turned toward the one trying to enter through the Northern pathway of the village.
Ogres in general, were a problematic creature to battle against.
They weren’t as fast as a Dire Bear which wasn’t really that fast on its own, and neither were they smarter than hobgoblins either.
However, each Ogre had a terrifying amount of strength that could easily crush the will of a man.
Speaking of wills of men, all of the villagers had completely given up hope of confronting the Ogres.
The sheer muscle and height of the five ogres had discouraged all the villagers from thinking they could stand before the five brutish monsters.
Mira was equally afraid of these creatures as well but there was no way she was going to sit back and watch her boyfriend battle all five creatures on his own, hence why she was summoning a huge courage to battle against the really tall ogre in front of her.
Meanwhile, Ray tightened his grip on his sword as he had a really good look of the Ogre standing before him.
The creature was enormous but seemed to be the shortest out of the five ogres.
However, Its thick mass of muscle and hard skin made it look really terrifying.
Even its jaws looked like they could crush a boulder into pieces, and it definitely could.
The ogre was also carrying a tree trunk it had easily ripped and yanked out of the ground and now it was using it as its own weapon.
Ray swiftly activated his <<Swift Strike>> skill, then he went straight for the monster’s knees.
The ogre’s hide turned out to be thicker than he had expected it to be.
So his first strike could only open up a small cut but it didn’t really cause any serious damage to the Ogre.
However , his attack was enough to cause a little sting on the Ogre, forcing it to pull its gaze down before swinging its tree trunk horizontally.
Ray ducked under it and came up behind the ogre’s knee.
He activated all three shills as before, then he launched a really intense strike on the same spot he had aimed at just now.
The Ogre knee buckled, forcing it to go down on one side but Ray leaped and swiftly drove his blade straight into the back of the ogre’s neck before it could recover back to its two feet.
Once dead, Ray noticed he hadn’t obtained any skill, so he turned around to focus on the remaining ogres but he noticed two Ogres already inside the village, aiming straight for the village’s granary.
He swiftly aimed and fired <<Acid Spray>> on their backs, forcing the two Ogres to bellow out in pain as they spun around with their eyes now filled with rage.
"Yeah, I’m right here uglies. Come get me."
Their faces grimaced in annoyance and both Ogres slammed their feet on the ground, causing the ground to quake while Ray struggled to find his balance.
But while he was busy with this, one of the two Ogres charged forward before launching a kick straight at his gut.
A huge gasp of air, mixed with saliva and blood gushes out of Ray’s mouth as he flew backward, slamming his back against the wall behind him. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
It was the first time he had ever received a kick from a three meter tall monster, so it really hurt a lot more than he could have expected it to.
But Ray managed to get back to his feet, then he activated his Berserker’s Rage ability again.
If he wasn’t having the Moonstone Necklace with him right now, he probably wouldn’t have been able to use his skills more than twice today.
But thanks to the necklace, he’s been able to refill his mana whenever it had dropped, which in turn , allowed him to continuously activate his skills when he shouldn’t be able to do so.
Now Ray activated his Berserker’s Rage skill, along with his <<Thick Skin>> and <<Iron Body>> skill.
Despite both skill almost having similar characteristics, Iron Body was more like an advanced model of the <<Thick Skin>> skill and Ray knew that he needed both skills right now if he wanted to defeat these two Ogres at the same time.
Activating more than three skills at once was currently impossible for Ray, so right now, his plan was to carefully use three skills at once and to rotate them whenever the need arises.
And so, Ray charged at both Ogres and what followed was the most purely brutal fight Ray had ever been in since he had regressed.
