Regressor's Harem Of Vengeance-Chapter 57. A Shadow In The Sky.
Hours passed by, now all the monsters had been completely eradicated.
The moment everyone realized this, their exhaustion swiftly spreads throughout their body.
They dropped their weapons and found a place to sit or simply rest their back.
Ray glanced around and noticed how several walls and buildings had already been destroyed.
There was also a thick stench of blood in the air due to the countless number of dead monsters lying on the ground.
Children and their parents slowly stepped out of where they had been hiding, but the moment their eyes met the countless number of dead monsters around them, the children couldn’t help but cry out loud in fear.
Ray noticed Emma as well, but his little sister had the look of shock mixed with fear in them.
She was shocked by the sheer number of monsters the villagers had battled against last night and she was a bit scared because she was worried the dead monsters might suddenly wake up when no one expected them to.
However, her expression immediately brightened up the moment she spotted her big brother a bit far from where she was.
Emma swiftly waved in excitement with a look that says "Did you really kill most of these monsters here?"
As if Ray could read her mind, he simply smiled and nodded to her mental inquiry before giving her a thumbs up.
Emma squealed in delight before dashing toward her friends to share the good news.
But Ray chuckled softly before groaning in pain.
Right now, Ray was sitting on an overturned cart while Mira was currently sitting behind him, wrapping a piece of clothing around Ray’s chest and ribs.
She was treating the wound he had sustained from the Ogre King and Ray couldn’t help but groan once again as she tightened the clothing around him.
The binding was done with a clean cloth Mira had found before folding it correctly for Ray’s use.
Her mind was still preoccupied with everything that had happened last night, leading up to this morning, but she was also focused on treating Ray as well.
Ray groaned once more and Mira sighed softly. "I think you’re having three broken ribs." She revealed. "But then again , it could be four. Was it from the Ogre King?"
"Yeah. That wanker did this to me. Had i known I’d been this injured, I would have sprayed acid on his face or something."
"It’s alright. At least, he’s gone now. So you have nothing to worry about."
"That’s easy for you to say. You’re not having any broken bones."
"Yeah, but I’m having bruises though." Mira showed him the bruises she had on her arms and face.
Though the bruises might look serious at first glance, but if Mira uses a healing potion, her face and body would be good as new in a couple of minutes.
But since Ray’s injuries were a bit more serious than hers, it would take him a few days or weeks for his four ribs to completely heal.
Of course, this was also considering the fact that Ray had a minor regeneration skill.
Anyways, the two remained silent for a while, as they allowed the cool morning air to caress their skin.
The air still had a strong stench of blood in it but the cool atmosphere made it comforting as well.
After a while, Ray asked. "So? What do you think about your new abilities?"
"It felt great. To be able to use skills and abilities like you, made me feel so alive. To be honest, I felt like I could do anything and no one in the world could stop me."
Ray smiled softly and stared at the horizon. "Let’s not get ahead of ourselves now, shall we?"
"Yeah, I know. But it’s still cool to have skills for combat."
"That’s true, and I agree your skill are pretty awesome."
"Hehehehe~ Don’t worry. I’m currently at level 6, so it’s only a matter of time before I meet up to you." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"Dream on, bouncy butt. I’m definitely not going to make things easy for you."
"I’m counting on you not to." Mira said warmly before turning toward him. "So, what level are you now exactly?"
"I’m....." Ray paused mid-sentence when he suddenly noticed something flying above them, casting a huge shadow across the village.
"Is that....?" Mira slowly stood up to her feet.
"It’s a wyvern." Ray replied firmly.
The large wyvern slowly circled above the village, indicating that it clearly had no intention of simply passing by. It’s objective was clearly the village itself.
"But what does it want?" Mira asked.
"We just slaughtered hundreds of monsters last night, and right now this place is like a slaughter house."
"So, the scent of blood attracted it here?"
"Yep."
"It looks like it really wants to come down."
"Yeah. It’s made up its mind from what I can see and that means everyone here is now on its menu."
"What are we going to do? How are we going to stop it?"
"Stop it? You really want to stop that thing?"
"We can’t?" Mira looked at him with a face that says ’I’m am Awakened now. I can definitely win against anyone.’
Ray completely understood the feeling she might be having right now because he too had felt the same way in his first lifetime but even he knew his limit and this wyvern was definitely a creature that shouldn’t be messing with.
"Look Mira, that guy up there must be above level 15. Do you really think we’ll win against him?"
"Mm,mm.." Mira nodded cutely with a smile.
"Hell no. Maybe next time but for now, we’re....." Ray suddenly paused mid-sentence when he heard the screams and wailing of everyone behind him as the wyvern dived down to release a column of flames straight on to the village.
