Regressor's Harem Of Vengeance-Chapter 58. Ray Vs A Wyvern.
The wyvern flame was as wide as a cart but the length and the range was insane.
The hot flame scorched the ground and turned it into glass, while many villagers screamed and were burnt to char.
The flames of a wyvern weren’t nearly as hot or terrifying as that of a dragon but it was still deadly nonetheless and the evidence to this was staring at Ray right now.
Ray watched as buildings melt down and villagers screamed in shock and pain before turning silent.
For a very long second, Ray felt his heart clenched in dread because he feared Emma and Helen could be among the villagers but as he swiftly dart his gaze around, his eyes landed on his mother and sister dashing toward a nearby building that was still intact and hadn’t collapsed.
Ray tightened his fist and he was about to leap straight to their aid but he stopped because Mira had already leaped to their rescue before he could react.
As a level 6 Awakener, Mira’s speed and strength was way beyond everyone else in the village and this allowed her to swiftly dashed through the flames on the road.
Just like Ray, Mira would do anything for Emma and Helen because those two were family to her and she wanted nothing more than to keep her family safe.
Meanwhile, Ray lifted his gaze back to the wyvern.
The large creature had descended a bit , so Ray could easily see its fifteen meters span of wings as it flapped it threateningly.
Thomas, a young farmer, around the age of Ray had climbed up to the village’s watch Tower.
The young lad grabbed the long halberd before hurling it straight at the creature.
His arm wasn’t long, and aim wasn’t either.
Besides, since he hadn’t awakened a class yet, he had no force behind his throw, so his weapon barely even moved away from him, not to mention hitting the wyvern.
He had hoped to hit the creature while it hadn’t registered his presence.
Also, he was hoping his surprise attack would be enough to scare the wyvern away, allowing him to claim the glory of chasing off the huge creature, but neither of his plans had turned out the way he wanted it to
However, the wyvern noticed the weapon and it certainly noticed the young man as well.
And so, within seconds, Thomas and the watch Tower were burnt to crisp.
Meanwhile, Ray had approached a really good vantage point before aiming his left arm straight at the wyvern.
He activated his <<Fire Bolt>> skill and a bolt of flames flew straight at the wyvern.
Though his attack didn’t really land on the wyvern, still the wyvern was pissed off to see someone stupid enough to think they could hit it.
It swiftly turned around from the village and set its sights on Ray but this was exactly what Ray wanted as he dashed away from the village.
However, the wyvern spreads its wide wings to its full length before dropping to the ground like a stone.
Despite him already running out of the village, Ray thought his plan of distracting the wyvern out of the village would be a success but to his surprise, the wyvern aimed at him at a really high speed.
He barely had enough time to register what was happening before the fifteen meter wide wyvern hit the field at an insane speed.
The impact shook the ground like a small earthquake and the shockwave of displaced air hit Ray like a blow before skidding him across the floor.
However, the wyvern wasn’t done yet.
It’s movement was fast.
It was terrifyingly and unfairly fast for its size and its tail came around with a horizontal sweep.
But Ray swiftly activated his Void Step skill which brought him four meters to the wyvern left.
Then he swiftly activated his <<Power Strike>> skill and aimed his blade into the joint where the wyvern wing met its body. but his sword clanked against the hard scale of the monster, so Ray decided to aim a little lower where the wyvern scales were smaller and softer.
His second strike easily pierced through monster’s underbelly and the wyvern began to bleed but the monster instantly swung its neck around and Ray barely cleared the wedge shaped head as it came down as a hammer. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
So the impact beside him sent dirt spraying across his face and he rolled sideways before putting distance between them.
Now that the wyvern was on the floor, Ray knew that this was his best chance to cause some really dangerous damage on the creature.
Of course, he still knew it would be difficult to win against the monster but he wasn’t going to just sit back and do nothing.
He knew the wyvern moved really slow while it was on the ground, so he wanted to make use of this to his advantage and every time he turned around the wyvern, the monster breathed fire, releasing arc of flames which burnt everything around Ray.
But Ray used his Void Step continuously to prevent him from getting burnt, but his mana pool was dropping tremendously and his Moonstone Necklace wasn’t regenerating his mana as fast as he expected it to.
Ray tried to widened the space between him and the wyvern but the monster charged forward once again, not wanting to give Ray a moment to breathe easily.
But he swiftly activated his <<Iron Body>> skill, just right when the wyvern swiped its tail at him, sending him tumbling across the field for fifteen meters.
Now, Ray’s head was facing down at the dirt directly.
But he pushed himself up from the dirt, while his head was still ringing from the wyvern tail strike.
His <<Iron Body>> skill had absorbed most of the impact, but he could feel bruises forming across his already injured rib cages.
"Shit." Ray cussed as he touched where Mira had helped him to bind earlier today.
"I’m sure of it."
"This guy has to be between level 15 to 16." Ray muttered to himself as he spat blood to the dirt.
If the wyvern was really level 15 or 16, then it meant defeating the beast would be extremely difficult but maybe not impossible.
Ray slowly turned around as the wyvern turned toward him too.
It spreads its massive wings once again as it prepared itself to make yet another charge and Ray could see a bright golden glow rising up from its stomach, up to its throat.
In other words, Another stream of flames was definitely on its way.
