Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 549: The Will Of A Conqueror
Kael roared, his eyes shut to his grief and pain.
How could he describe how he felt at the moment, it was hard to put it into words.
He felt seriously disgusted and felt like vomiting, he felt sick, he felt like a mountain had been dropped on his head, he felt like all the organs in his body were being turned over and fried at the same time.
His mouth was bitter, his eyes felt like they wanted to pop out of his head, his skull was banging and his ears were filled with ghostly shrieks that made it hard for him to focus.
All in all, Kael felt extremely unwell.
At the same time, the ground beneath him shook, he could feel his body changing slightly. The land was transforming again, and so was his body.
Kael’s senses, which were once among the best, were constantly fading away and he was finding it hard to even sniff the presence of those around him.
But he remembered that many lion kings including Memphis had come to his aid, but he couldn’t feel their touch anymore.
The only way he could tell that the ground was moving was because as it shook, he also shook and his sense of direction was challenged. He could feel the ground growing colder and a powdery substance rising from the cracks.
He remembered the slap he had given Ma’abu. That slap was instinctive as he felt the aura from that tail. Kael had wanted to get away from it as fast as possible, but the presence of that tail prevented his powers from operating well.
Where did Ma’abu even get such an item from? It was a wonder.
Kael could no longer hear anything.
’No,’ Kael thought, he felt his powers slipping by, his connection to the lion system was glitching, and his various powers were freezing up.
Kael opened his eyes.
The golden glow from his irises had faded until they now looked ordinary.
He stared ahead, the fissure that had been created by Ma’abu’s body being blasted away was gone.
Kael was now standing in the snow of a white field. The land had changed into a white cold desert.
That wasn’t the only change though, Kael had also changed.
Kael looked down to see that he was on his knees, his human knees. He brought his hands up to his face, watching the bits of snow fall off his open palm.
His hand trembled, his spine tingled, his jaws clenched tight.
Kael was humanoid, and he was cold.
"No..." Kael muttered, this time, his time was dipped heavily in helplessness.
He could not feel it anymore, he could not feel his powers at all.
It was gone.
What had Ma’abu done?
"Kael!" Finally, Kael’s hearing was restored. He looked up to see Memphis approaching him.
Suddenly, the ground trembled, and an earth-shaking battle was happening far away.
The supporters would probably not stop until Ma’abu was dead.
"Memphis," Kael whispered, feeling the cold clearer than ever.
"I’m here, Kael, I’m here," Memphis whispered too as she instantly transformed into her humanoid form.
She hurriedly wrapped her arms around Kael, using her cloth to provide more warmth to the fallen All-King.
"I’m cold," Kael said, as if he could not believe himself. His eyes stared down at the snow, his mind lost.
"I know," Memphis said, she watched as all the lion kings rushed to the sky to battle their foes.
She could also feel the lion system which she had been getting used to for some time now start to glitch in and out of existence.
Kael...was dying.
She herself didn’t want this, how could they lose another Primordial, just like that?
Where the lions truly fated for destruction?
Were they really doomed?
Were they so cursed that the death of their fourth Primordial would be caused by another lion?
She looked at Kael’s neck, observing the lion’s tail wrapped around Kael’s neck.
She wondered where Ma’abu had gotten this thing from.
She tried to touch it, wanting to brush her fingers along the length. But she quickly retracted her arm.
It stung, the tail. It felt like she was touching burning iron, even though it was clearly normal temperature.
This was the bane of all lions, their kryptonite, and a Primordial Lion’s worst nightmare.
If it were any other material, she would have easily ripped it away from his neck. But this was the tail of an anti-lion.
With the way it was wrapped around Kael’s neck, it would probably kill her and him at the same time.
"Memphis, I am cold!" Kael said, speaking up a bit louder. He was starting to drift in and out of consciousness. Once he closed his eyes and fell asleep, that would be the end of his journey in this world.
Memphis didn’t know what to say, whether to comfort him or to hug him, because she knew that Kael might not survive this.
Ma’abu, had done what he wanted to do.
He had crippled the whole lion race in the name of peace.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"How...dare...he..." Kael muttered. His head slowly fell to the side, resting on Memphis’s shoulder.
Two tears slid down Memphis’s cheeks as her eyes grew unnaturally cold and killing intent spilled from her chest.
Death would be too merciful for Ma’abu.
Kael’s eyes closed shut, his golden eyes seemingly leaving the world forever.
"..."
"..."
"How dare he!" The words slammed into Memphis’s mind like a truck.
Kael’s eyelids swung open like the gates of heaven, intense golden light bursting out from his eyeballs.
"THAT MOTHERFUCKER! HOW DARE HE!"
Memphis was flabbergasted, Kael’s body was suddenly heating up. The snow around him began to melt from the sheer raw rage that was coming from Kael.
The will of the tyrant.
The sheer freaking will of a conqueror.
That was all Kael had irrespective of whether he had powers or not.
But what truly enraged was not the fact that he could be dying, but the idea of him dying in such a weak state.
How utterly disgusting and unfit for the Ninth Primordial Lion.
Ibadon would never be able to rest in peace because he did not get his satisfying revenge.
Then Kael would never be able to rest in peace if he died in this manner.
How despicable.
How incomprehensible.
Of all the things he had been through, was this how he was supposed to go out?
"NOOO!" Kael roared.
*BAM!*
A pulse wave burst out of Kael’s body. The strength of the pulse wave was so strong that it blasted Memphis away.
Memphis’ body flew away like a broken kite before she straightened herself mid-air.
She looked at Kael and what she saw caused her to stare blankly, stunned and unsure how to react.
Kael, in his humanoid form, knelt on the ground, looking defeated with a tail wrapped around his neck.
Surrounding him were eight illusory figures, large and mighty.
Two illusory lionesses, one illusory cub, and five illusory lions.
All of them had a golden tint to their figures, the same tint that would only be possessed by a Primordial Lion.
Memphis had never seen these illusory figures in her life, but she didn’t need to be a genius to put two and two together.
Besides Kael, there had only been eight Primordials in the history of the lion race.
And there were eight of these illusory figures hurdled around Kael.
Memphis thought she knew who those illusory figures were, but she couldn’t bring herself to accept the truth.
If she did, it would mean she was currently in the presence of all the legends of lion history. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Then she saw something even more unexplainable. The eight illusory figures turned into pure streams of Conquering Essence which swirled around Kael before sinking into his head.
Kael grabbed the anti-lion tail wrapped around his neck and pulled.
The palms of the All-King burned, the golden aura contrasted heavily with the white snowy background.
But Kael did not stop, he could not stop.
There was so much to do, so much more to conquer.
So many mistakes to fix, so many regrets to neutralise. His current life was far more fulfilling than his past life, but it wasn’t yet complete.
Kael did not give himself permission to die, he had conquered himself, all that remained was a will as strong as the universe itself.
A will that dictated all.
A will that controlled all.
A Will that could threaten even the Highest.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGHHH!"
Kael screamed at the top of his lungs.
His hair and beards were dyed gold, golden veins popped out beneath his skin, his tail curved into an ’S’ shape.
He pulled hard and that tail actually loosened a bit.
It was like a dam of frustration and rage was poured out.
The white snowy ground was shattered into apocalyptic bits, compressing and pressing on itself over and over again.
Gigantic web-like cracks spread out with golden light rushing out from the area in between the cracks.
Kael knelt at the center, screaming like a mad god who had been forsaken by all.
But the tail was yet to come off his neck.
