Chapter 586: Chapter 586: Yours For Theirs

"Stand down, rat. Your King is here," Kael declared in a deep commanding tone as though he was leaving no room for resistance.

The Primordial Rats, all six of them, looked at Kael with weary eyes.

They had every right to be wary. The Primordial Rat could somewhat feel that even though Kael was in front of him, he was also surrounded.

Kael being in front of him was no different from being behind and beside and locking him down from every angle.

The Primordial Rat was surrounded, he was constrained.

He remembered this feeling, it was the feeling he had grown up hating the most.

"Who are you?" One of the Primordial Rats asked as the others looked around.

"Fret not, rat. I’m a Primordial, just like you.

I am the All-King, leader of the lion civilization.

What is your name?"

Kael’s face was stern but he spoke with a hint of kindness and harmlessness in his tone.

Kael was very interested in the cloning ability of this Primordial and had been studying it.

Kael was not being kind out of goodwill. Rather, he wanted to see something.

"Lions?" Another Primordial Rat exclaimed, "Are you here to oppress us again?" He asked.

Kael chuckled, darkness flashing quickly through his eyes, "I asked for your name, rat."

He spoke with a promise of threat.

That single sentence had led the Primordial Rat to raise his guard. Those golden eyes, as beautiful as they were, did not belong to a saint.

Yes, they glowed marvelously like celestial gems. But those were the eyes of someone who was utterly indifferent to everything around him as long as it did not involve his purpose.

That smile, that gleam, it was all an act that Kael was allowing to show.

To the Primordial Rat, Kael was like a tyrant who was trying to hide his true nature from him.

The Primordial Rat thought of himself as a smart entity that could read others and judge them truthfully, so he didn’t even think for once that he was only seeing the side that Kael wanted him to see.

"Louis," The Primordial Rat responded after a few seconds.

Behind him, the four elites looked up in awe. They had begun to think they would die fighting. Besides, it wasn’t like this Primordial Rat would spare their lives even if they surrendered.

He already saw them as evil entities that should be weeded out from the rat race.

They had never expected that this mysterious figure would come out of nowhere to save their lives.

"Louis, Primordial Rat," Kael said calmly, "You’ve been busy."

Kael looked around. Truly, the Primordial Rat had done a lot on this planet. One could only imagine what he would do if he were set free to run around on the cosmic stage.

"What do you want? Are you here to impress us again?" Louis asked, squeezing his rat paws into fists.

Kael sighed, "No, I came here for you. In fact, I came here to offer this world a chance to be saved..."

Kael smiled and a dazzling radiance shone from behind him.

He looked like a savior.

"You’re a Lion," Louis said skeptically, "What exactly do you want?"

"I want you," Kael said truthfully.

"Me?" The Primordial Rat was confused.

"Yes, you," Kaelsaid as he flew into the building. The building has stopped crumbling due to his power, which keeps every meter of concrete stable.

His feet touched the ground softly, N’bayé and Katari landed beside him.

N’bayé had her eyes trained on the six identical Primordial Rats. Katari didn’t seem particularly focused on anybody at the moment, just indifferent.

"I’m a Primordial like you, Louis. You have been constrained by this world all this while so you don’t really know what has been happening in the universe.

You’re like a frog in a well, the sky you see is not all there is to it..."

"What’s a frog?"

"..."

"..."

Kael took in a deep breath and sighed, "My point is, there are a lot of entities out there trying to get to us.

I’ve been dealing with them for some time, the fight for our survival is not easy.

I have been recruiting other Primordials like us into the organization known as the League of Primordials.

You, Primordial Rat of Freedom, would be a good addition to our ranks."

Kael smiled, walking over to the large rat.

Although this rat was large and standing over six feet tall, Kael, Katari, and N’bayé were still taller than him.

N’bayé and Katari stopped after walking a little and Kael casually walked into the encirclement of six Primordial Rats.

Katari’s eyes lazily focused on Kael’s back while N’bayé still maintained her gaze on the rats.

However, the glow coming from N’bayé’s eyes intensified.

"The League of Primordials? Are there others like me?" Louis asked, curious.

"Yes, Louis," Kael nodded.

Kael then waved his hand and a golden paper appeared in front of him. This was the base of his powers.

"But," Kael added ominously.

Louis tensed up all of a sudden. He just discovered that he had let down his guard so easily.

Wasn’t he just fighting those four elites? His attention has been completely stolen by Kael’s appearance.

"But what?" Louis asked.

One of the Primordial Rats stepped back and the others stepped forward.

Kael acted as if he did not see this.

"You’ll have to give up something," Kael said, a devilish smile starting to form on his face.

Louis narrowed his eyes, "What is that?"

"Your Freedom."

There was a deafening silence. The faces of the six Primordial Rats slowly turned ugly.

"Are you stupid?" Louis asked. He had asked that question from the bottom of his heart.

He was literally fighting for freedom, why would he give it up?

Unfortunately, his question had set something off.

"Oh," The smile on Kael’s face disappeared.

"I’ve been trying to get my race free from you Lion tyrants and you’re asking me to come back into your bandage, just when we have a bit of success?

Is there something wrong with your head?"

Louis ran his mouth, not yet aware of the gravity of his words.

What was freedom of speech? This was freedom of speech.

Freedom after speech? That was a different topic.

"You lowly rat," Kael muttered, shaking his head in pity.

Louis had not even read the golden paper hovering in front of him. He just dismissed it.

"I’m offering your race another chance," Kael said, deciding to play it cool and see if Louis would catch up.

"All you have to do is give up your freedom to this king. I will then personally make sure that your race is free from slavery.

It’s a trade Louis, your freedom for theirs.

Bow to this King and let it be so," Kael stretched out his palm with golden claws glinting fiercely at the ends of his fingers.

Louis thought for a moment, looking at the outstretched palm. He then frowned and spat a thick clump of saliva at the palm.

"You’re no king to me..." Louis was saying.

However, he was not able to complete his sentence before a heavy slap struck his head and turned his whole body into bloody flesh paste
