Chapter 605: Chapter 605: They Are Many

The mortalverse.

Drifting on the orbit of a random star, one arkship was alone in the starry void.

There was silence.

But the inside of this arkship wasn’t so peaceful.

There was a heaviness hanging in the air within the confines of the arkship.

The last few lion lords that were still present had hurdled themselves in the chamber of command as they had secret discussions with themselves and their Princes.

Meanwhile, Marcus, Ralph, Vixy, Bibi, and many other caste leaders were in the chamber world of the spiders.

The atmosphere was solemn and filled with uncertainty.

Everyone could feel it. That tug at the back of their minds, as if an entity was knocking on the doors of their minds and asking to come in.

Some had already answered this call and had fallen into a deep unconscious state.

No one knew whether they would ever wake up, but everyone knew that those who had answered the call were now...connected.

What were they to do?

The cause of this phenomenon was obviously related to Natalia’s transformation.

But Natalia couldn’t possibly be considered an enemy, could she?

What was the point?

Besides, the All-King had sent a message that he was on his way.

They just had to wait.

Whatever was keeping the All-King after all this time, they hoped it was essential.

The longer they waited, the more some of these creatures continued to fall into the embrace of the Call.

They couldn’t quite tell if Natalia was doing this intentionally or if it was just a side effect of her transformation.

Inside the chamber world of the spiders, Ralph and Marcus stood next to each other. They were the only adult Primordials present, so it was normal for them to be seen together most of the time.

Ivana was still growing but she was not yet old enough to do much. Vixy still had her place as the acting caste leader.

"How long is this going to keep on happening?" Ralph asked, standing tall in his humanoid form.

His now longer grey hair swept to one side under the influence of the chamber world’s wind.

He had his two hands grabbing his belt and his deep yellow eyes were trained forward to focus on the massive cocoon ahead.

The white strings produced by the spiders were littered all around him, bringing a deep unsettling feeling to the hearts of the ordinary creatures here.

"I don’t know," Marcus shrugged his shoulders as he chewed something. He brought his hand up to take a bite out of a dried-up piece of rabbit meat that had been seasoned and tantalized to the right proportion, just enough to stimulate his vulture taste buds.

Although Marcus could eat once and go on for a long time without eating, he could still enjoy these snacks once in a while.

"Just in case Natalia goes out of control, the lion lords are steering the arkship toward the nearest rocky planet.

It’s not exactly habitable, but it’ll be enough until we are sure of a safe voyage again," Marcus said.

"Hmm," Ralph didn’t say anything more. No matter what he thought, there was nothing that could be done until Kael came back.

Just as he was thinking of any more countermeasures that he could place.

He heard something. Ralph’s ears twitched to the back and his nostrils widened to take in a familiar scent.

At the same time, Marcus and Ralph turned around at the same time as they had both sensed the same thing in different ways.

Rushing toward them and knocking down a few trees in the process was a ball of fire, leaving a blazing trail behind it.

This ball of fire had nine different flames sparking around, each with different colors and patterns.

On a closer look, that wasn’t a ball of fire, but a little nine-tailed fox.

The fox put one paw in front of the other consecutively, rushing fast with a look of panic in her eyes.

She didn’t care that her actions were destroying the home of the spiders, she just wanted to get to the safety of the adults.

Vixy and the other caste leaders standing around also noticed the clump of fire rushing toward them and frowned.

"Ivana! I told you to stay put..." Vixy said with a condescending look.

"Auntie Vixy, something is coming!" Ivana shouted as she slid to a halt in front of them.

The flames died down to reveal a large fox the size of a large dog with nice fluffy flaming tails waving about mesmerizingly behind her.

The fox quickly transformed into a humanoid form. Ivana took on the form of a little orange-haired girl, looking no more than four or five years old in human age.

She had two cute orange ears on the sides of her head and her nine tails shrank a bit but they’re still very much present.

Her eyes glowed a deep red with two blue pupils at their center. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

An innocent but fierce expression was worn on her face, a face which was currently showing a bit of uncertainty and fear.

"What’s coming?" Vixy asked with narrowed eyes.

"I don’t know, I can feel it. They are coming...

They are coming after me..."

Ivana’s voice was small and lacked the strength and force that someone with her power would usually have.

"After you?" Marcus asked. He had assumed at first that Ivana had probably sensed Kael’s arrival before them; he didn’t expect her explanation to be off.

"Who are they?" He asked, a deathly aura rising from his body.

Ivana put her hands together and lowered her head, "I don’t know them.

But they are many.

I can hear them in my head, Uncle Marcus.

They seem pretty angry with me.

Uncle Marcus, did I do something wrong?" Ivana asked innocently.

The way she spoke would make anyone know that she was much younger than she looks.

But none of that mattered, Marcus and the rest were thinking about what Ivana just said.

Because even if they were not sure if it was true or not, one thing that she said stood out.

They are many.
