Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 612: Charvi Maruya
"What’s your name?" Kael asked as he turned fully to face the Primordial Peacock in humanoid form.
The humanoid did not respond.
Her face was hidden, covered by her long greenish-black hair that fell over her face.
The naked lady struggled to get up. Every movement she made with her limbs caused them to tremble. She didn’t even know which direction was her left or her right.
But the All-King could see that as time went by, her aura was becoming more stable and organized.
"What’s your name?" He asked, this time he used telepathy.
Still, there was no answer.
As the humanoid female began to find her bearings, she changed.
There had been a little strand of feathers at the back of her waist. This strand of feathers had been unimpressive at first glance.
But Kael knew that this may not be the case.
In nature, the male Peacocks were usually the bearers of colorful bodies. But that didn’t apply to their Primordials.
Although this one was a female, she possessed the seductive and attractive feathers of her male counterparts. Perhaps, this evening made her more beautiful than other males.
That strand of feathers was the colorful train feathers that were always found on the tail end of male peacocks.
This Primordial had it, and it was also a very dangerous weapon if allowed to spread fully.
*Stomp!*
Kael placed his booted feet on the clump of feathers just before it spread.
This earned him the full attention of the Primordial Peacock as she felt the resistance from behind.
The All-King watched as this being gradually raised her head in an eerie manner. She turned her head slightly and Kael was able to see her eyes and half of her face.
Kael frowned. Was this face too beautiful to be considered real? How could someone’s face look so perfect?
It wasn’t even as if she had a particular look. She looked like everyone and no one at the same time.
Was this a side effect of Charm Essence or was she just this beautiful? Kael asked himself.
If her beauty was a result of her powers, Kael imagined what it would be like once he finally held her powers in his hands.
Meanwhile, the Primordial Peacock turned fully to look at the person stepping on her feathers.
Her expression was not nice at all. It was disdainful, the kind of look that only lions had the right to wear.
"How long have you been trapped?" Kael asked, his golden eyes glowing with power as his aura burst forth.
Now, the Primordial Peacock calmed down and thought twice about doing what was in her mind.
Kael was not weak, she could tell.
And he was talking with her telepathically.
"Who..." She began, "...are you?" She asked.
It had been so long since she spoke out with her real voice, let alone telepathy.
The things that had been binding her were gone, she was free.
That gave her a feeling of freedom which she cherished greatly. But something about this person who was stepping on her feathers upset her.
His presence was...heavy.
"I’m Kael Ol-mytee, King of the Ol-mytee Clan, Supreme Ruler of the Lion Civilization, the Primordial Lion, and also addressed officially as the All-King," Kael responded calmly.
The Primordial Peacock took a while to digest all the titles.
"All-King?" She asked, her telepathic voice becoming clearer.
"Yes," Kael nodded, "Now, who are you?" He asked.
The Primordial Peacock blinked her greenish-blue eyes.
"I am...Charvi?" She said as she got up to her knees.
"Charvi?" Kael raised an eyebrow.
"Charvi Mayura, that’s my name," Charvi said.
"Hmm," Kael asked, the name sounded familiar, like something that would come from his past life.
He scanned her face. This beauty was provoking all manner of thoughts in his mind and Charvi was intentionally staring into Kael’s eyes.
However, Kael ignored all the strange thoughts he was having concerning Charvi and just thought of them as noise.
Charvi Maruya on the other hand was still staring into Kael’s golden eyes. The more she stared, the more her eyes itched.
Then, Kael broke his calm face with a slight frown.
She was staring into his eyes too much.
"How long has it been since you interacted with a lion?" Kael asked, not breaking eye contact.
Charvi could not take it anymore and had to blink her eyes while stylishly looking away.
"I...can’t remember. I can’t remember ever being close to a lion actually," Charvi shook her head. She truly couldn’t remember herself doing such a thing.
Kael asked because it seemed like Charvi had never truly interacted with a lion despite being held captive in Leonine Heaven for so long.
Another thing was that Charvi had the power level of a tier 6 equivalent, which would mean she had a life span of about a thousand years.
He didn’t know how long she had been in captivity but she could have been there for a really long time.
And since she had seemingly been forced into a deep slumber all that time, she wouldn’t be aware.
"I’ve heard of lions, but I’ve never met them, until now," Charvi added.
"Why?" Kael pressed, leaning in to observe her more closely.
Charvi sighed, a flash of killing intent passing through her mind.
"My...friend, she told me for a long time that lions were dangerous and I should avoid them, unless they would taint me.
I believed her and allowed myself to be sheltered by her kindness."
As Charvi talked, she couldn’t believe the words she was saying.
She wondered how she could possibly have been so stupid and so naive.
"Hmm," Kael narrowed his eyes. He began to make connections and link the dots together.
Charvi was an instrument for Charm Essence smuggling. The smuggling ring had been a front for the real traitors to operate.
The operation of the traitors had been secretly controlled by the Dragon Empress.
"And how did you then end up like this? You’re too strong to have been easily captured without anyone noticing anything," Kael said.
He had never heard of any battle. Everyone assumed that the Primordial Peacock was the secret property of one lion clan that had been lucky to have her.
Who would have thought that the narrative was way more complicated than they thought?
Charvi narrowed her eyes and her aura rose sharply again. Her eyes glowed a mix of green and blue and charm essence flowed fiercely underneath her skin.
The beauty was angry.
Kael blinked, the third eye on his forehead opening up to dispel the bewitching effect of Charvi’s beautiful face.
She gritted her teeth and squeezed her hands into fists.
"Elizabeth betrayed me..."
