Chapter 629: Chapter 629: He Must Defeat Us

"Are we just going to sit and watch this happen?" Elizabeth asked as she paced back and forth in front of her massive crystal throne.

Ibadon was seated on the crystal, his legs crossed and his cap pushed to the side beside him.

He didn’t seem particularly worried about the turn of events that had been happening these past few days.

"Have you spoken with the Queen of Queens?" Ibadon asked, his dull red eyes staring blankly at the ceiling.

There were no dragon guards here. This throne hall was very quiet with just Ibadon and Elizabeth present.

This was a private discussion that shouldn’t reach the ears of the ordinary dragons.

"No," Elizabeth shook her head with a look of dejection, "They probably know that we are planning on going full scale," She said.

"Very well then," Ibadon said lightly, "We can’t expect them to involve themselves in our fight. At least, secure a batch of honey from them first."

Elizabeth paused her steps and turned to look at Ibadon with a loving expression, "Are they really going to break the alliance?" She asked.

Ibadon shook his head, "I doubt," He said, "They just have their priorities set out for them, that’s all."

Elizabeth sighed, they were suddenly all alone. The Creation Dragons were forming with the lions and the Bees didn’t want to get involved in their mess.

"Aren’t you worried?" She asked as she looked at Ibadon’s lackadaisical form.

She was extremely worried for good reasons after all. First, their grip over the Draconic Heaven was slipping.

Due to the history of the dragons, one could not say that there was a good or bad side, both the Creation and Destruction Dragons were equally terrible factions, just affiliated with different laws.

No side would ever be satisfied with just taking half of heaven. They would never stop trying to outsmart and dominate themselves.

Such was the date of their nature, Destruction and Creation could never truly be balanced with each other.

Elizabeth knew that the Dragon Emperor would not stop at just securing half of the Draconic Heaven for him and his kin. No, he would still continue to eat away at their territory.

She knew this because she would do the same thing too.

Another thing was that the civil war was getting to a very dangerous level at a time when she was almost close to her next evolution.

Empress Elizabeth had been at the tier 7 stage for multiple centuries now and is quickly approaching her first millennium birthday.

She hoped to be able to cross into the immortal tier before then but that was very unlikely.

But she was sure that she would be able to evolve and achieve immortality within the next thousand years or less.

The problem was that with cosmic factions like the lion civilization and the dragon civilization, war was never simple.

If war were to start now, it would usually take the gradual accumulation of events for it to become a full-blown battle between two races.

And once that happens, it doesn’t end easily in one piece.

Cosmic wars were different from the regular mortal human wars that only involved political drama, mortal weapons, and some propaganda.

Those wars would last a hundred years at best if the generations that came after inherited the hatred and political blindness that prevented them from seeing that there was no winner in the war.

Cosmic wars on the other hand could last for thousands of years and the casualties were monstrously immense.

In the past cosmic wars, it was normal for multiple galaxies to be utterly annihilated. Both factions would bring out the biggest guns they had been hiding and would go at each other with the fiercest killing intent.

Cosmic wars were terrible. Innocent inhabitants of random planets would usually die without even knowing what killed them.

The worst part was that the winners and losers of such cosmic wars couldn’t be determined easily.

Both sides would lose and gain something but only the first to withdraw their forces would be considered the loser.

The last cosmic war that happened, the lions were the first to start withdrawing their forces, and that only happened after Noel sacrificed himself and failed.

This time, things could be different.

Elizabeth was worried that the war would interfere with her ability to evolve and become immortal.

"Why should I be worried?" Ibadon asked.

"The lions are getting bolder. My spies are telling me that they have been cornered to the edges of the Leonine Heaven.

Soon, the All-King will be untouchable..."

"Hehehe..." Ibadon’s chuckle silenced Elizabeth.

What was so funny?

Ibadon’s dull red eyes turned green and his shoulders shook as he laughed at what Elizabeth said.

"Untouchable?" Ibadon asked.

"..." Elizabeth didn’t say anything.

Ibadon’s eyes switched back to their dull red color, "It is either you underestimate me or you overestimate the All-King.

The two encounters I have had with the All-King, can you believe we never exchanged blows?

We didn’t fight.

In the two encounters I almost had with him, he was the one running away...

Elizabeth..." Ibadon paused, standing up and assuming his full height of seven feet.

Elizabeth looked up to her guardian and mentor since she was born, the person who taught her everything she knew about being an Empress.

Her eyes were filled with the light of love and obsession. Ibadon’s eyes were also filled with the glint of obsession.

Unfortunately for both of them, they were obsessing over two different things.

Ibadon continued, "...The All-King has been very lucky.

I realize that I may have been going about this the wrong way.

That is why I am not worried.

The All-King doesn’t need to be lured out, he doesn’t need to be pursued.

First, we should have just used overwhelming brute force from the start. But I understand that we had a civil war to navigate.

Second, he could have just come right to us.

Thirdly, we could have used a cat’s paw to fish him out,"

"Cat’s paw?" Elizabeth tilted her head.

Ibadon nodded his head.

"When I say don’t worry, I mean it.

No need to set any trap, no need to plot any schemes, that’s what he expects us to do.

What we should do instead is go with the flow, hehehehe.

Allow the Horse envoys to come, we shall ally with them."

Ibadon said before taking a short step down the stairs.

"The horses? But they are just like the lions. They are affiliated with the same law." Elizabeth said.

"Not exactly, they aren’t really like the lions. Same law, different approach.

We are allying with them not only because we share a common enemy in the lions, but also because the Horses are the natural competitors for the lions. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

The horses and lions are destined to clash in a void shaking wave, all we have to do is tag along and weed out our troubles in one fell swoop."

Elizabeth narrowed her eyes, "But if we ally with the Horses and the Creation Dragons ally with the lions, won’t we be equally matched?

The All-King is not stupid, he’ll stall for time until he can get powerful enough to crush us."

Ibadon nodded in agreement, "That is true, but it is also good.

I am counting on the All-King being smart. I want him to use that brain of his to arrive exactly where I want him to be.

And no, we won’t be equally matched.

Remember what I told you about a cat’s paw?

The Cats have been spotted in the mortalverse.

They seem to be looking for something."

Elizabeth’s eyes widened, "The cats? Weren’t you and the former Cat Primordial friends who joined forces to fight against Noel?"

Ibadon nodded again, "Yes.

As you can see, common enemies. And if the cats have shown themselves, you can explore visitors from the Original Heaven to start showing up.

When those guys show themselves, the lion civilization will be nothing to worry about in the grand scheme of things.

The All-King will be pressured once he realizes how small he is compared to the real monsters like me.

And once he is pressured, he will naturally try to use his intelligence to find a way to get stronger."

Ibadon then spread his hands out with an evil grin on his face, "Look around you.

More than a million heavenly beacons from the last war still lay in our treasuries, the horses would be our allies too.

Not only that, but President Musty has a few other Primordials under him as subordinates.

I heard that the All-King had been subtly searching for primordials just like President Musty.

Heavenly Beacons, competitors, and a trove of Primordials he could plunder!

We don’t need to lure him out, he will come to us because only in our defeat can he acquire power for himself."

A dark fog began to emanate from Ibadon’s body as he swelled and transformed.

Elizabeth wore a smile on her face, she understood what Ibadon said. To her, the extinction of the lion race was inevitable, something that could not be avoided.

It was destiny.

Unbeknownst to Ibadon and Elizabeth, a flash of gold shimmered at the depths of the Dragon Empress’s eyes.
