Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 628: The Whispers
"Enough with the fucking chattering!" President Musty shouted at the humanoid female horses sitting at the long dining table with him.
This was a very long and spacious hall with a ceiling so high it might as well be the sky.
There was a dining table resting peacefully on the black marble floor at the center of this spacious hall.
And surrounding the dining hall were five entities, each bathed in the light of a powerful entity.
Sitting at the head chair and facing the others was President Musty in his humanoid form.
Just like Kael, he was an incredibly handsome person when taking on his humanoid form.
He had long wavy golden hair that had been parted to the sides to form a golden waterfall-like illusion on his shoulders and behind his back.
His neck which was visible beyond the white collar of his inner suit could be seen. It was thick, like the neck of a pro wrestler.
President Musty angled his near-perfect face at the table, staring at the plates of bright fruits in front of him.
He took in a deep breath, almost sucking in every air particle in the table, then he exhaled.
The plates which were made from some of the heaviest crystals shook upon contacting the torrent of exhalation.
"We...didn’t say anything..." The humanoid female closest to him spoke up with a look of concern on her face as she observed her husband.
This humanoid female had the characteristic long hair that most horses, male or female, usually have.
But her long wavy hair was colored bright reddish-orange and had a very low and faint glow that matched the fiery glow in her eyes.
For someone with a fiery aura, she was surprisingly gentle-looking as she gazed at President Musty.
President Musty frowned when he heard what the red-haired beauty said.
He raised his head slightly, revealing his strange eyes. Each of his eyes looked like a ball of darkness with a single bright gold dot in each of them.
He stared at the red-haired beauty, "I heard you whispering..." He said through gritted teeth.
Another female next to the red-haired beauty, this one had green hair and a single short horn on top of her head, looked around and shrugged, "No one was talking, we were all waiting for you to say something first," She said with a worried look.
President Musty looked at all four of his wives seated with him at the table and sighed, understanding what could possibly have happened.
Just like Kael, he also didn’t really have that desire to go out and conquer every mare that came his way. He was more focused on bringing his race to great heights than filling up each made he saw with his seed.
That was why he still had just four wives even though he had already established himself as the president and the horse with the highest status in the whole federation.
These four wives of his were his most trusted aides in everything he did. He would believe them first before he believed any of the grand governors under him.
Lately, he had been acting up due to reasons best known to him, if not, he would not have shouted at them to stop talking even if they were actually talking.
"Forgive me," Musty apologized, leaning back into his chair and allowing his broad shoulders to slump.
His very powerful chest was outlined through the fabric of his suit.
Normally, anyone who heard of President Musty would not take him seriously because of his name.
But for President Musty to have carved out this ethereal and elite position for himself in this dangerous universe? The amount of might and ruthlessness needed for such a feat was incredible.
One could not afford to judge President Musty on his name alone.
"He’s made more progress," Musty muttered.
The wives looked at each other, sharing knowing glances.
The fiery-haired one stood up from her seat and went to Musty’s side, placing her hand gently on his shoulder as she applied a pressure of comfort and warmth.
"Husband, are you talking about the Primordial Lion?" She asked.
She picked up one of the red fruits, pressed it between her two fingers, and applied some strength. The red fruit was crushed into four pieces with its juices staining her callused fingers.
She gently picked one of the pieces and brought it close to President Musty’s mouth.
President Musty, albeit reluctantly, opened his mouth to receive the piece of fruit. It was sweet and crunchy, just how he liked it.
"He’s getting closer and closer. If he continues, he’ll soon push me out.
The whispers I hear every now and then..." President Musty spoke after swallowing the fruit.
"The whispers must be the collective intents of the lions...
They’re getting louder...
He has to be stopped!"
*BAM!*
Musty suspended his fist on the table, cracking the crystal surface.
The four wives all wore calm and soothing expressions, they understood their husband well.
"Don’t worry, husband," The fourth wife, a lady with dark blue hair and azure skin, said, "The Primordial Lion will soon be crushed by the calamity we have set for him."
President Musty frowned. He knew they were just saying it to make him calm down but he also wished he could calm down.
But he couldn’t.
The more Kael got closer to fully embodying the Law of Conquering, the more he could take a glimpse into the dark intent of the All-King.
Would their plan even work? What was the point of doing something like that to someone who didn’t give a shit about the universal will itself?
"The Creation Dragons are allying with the Lions," President Musty said.
The third wife spoke up then, "It’s normal, Your Excellency.
Only that, I think the Dragon Emperor is quite stupid. Doesn’t he know the risks of getting too close to the lions?
Those tyrants can’t even dream of standing on the same ground with their fellow felines, talk more of a wormy dragon..."
"The Dragon Emperor is not stupid," President Musty interrupted her with a harsh tone.
"The lions don’t have any true allies, but they have a vast number of vassals. That is the very reason why the Dragon Emperor would consider them.
When going to war, the lions wouldn’t charge forth alone, they would be accompanied by all the creatures they had subjugated.
That alone is a valid reason to pull them to their side.
Allying with the lions is no different from allying with thousands of civilizations at the same time.
And don’t forget, the Dragon Emperor is a Primordial and also an immortal. You can’t understand the way he thinks when you’re not even past your first century yet."
President Musty wasn’t trying to put doubt in the minds of his wives, he was just telling the truth.
The wives were silent.
Musty narrowed his strange golden dotted eyes and said, "Send one more message to the Dragon Empress.
I refuse to believe she and Ibadon would watch all this and sit still.
