Chapter 638: Chapter 638: The Compensation

Emperor Zain was struck silent by Kael’s second claim.

Beside him, Victoria had a more uncomfortable expression on her face. So the All-King knew about their previous alliance with Ma’abu, as expected.

However, he didn’t seem to be offended or excited about being called out.

It made sense now, the All-King did not make a big deal about them becoming allies with one of his former enemies because he already had a befitting way to get back at them for it.

He would ask them for compensation.

Kael swiped his hand and flung the info orbs in his grasp away. There was a short boom as the info orbs flew out of his grasp at sonic speed.

Less than a hundred meters away, Alora stretched out her hand to catch the info orbs easily.

She brought the orb to her chest and observed the contents with a calm look on her face.

It was valuable information, it would be passed down to the Shadow Tyranny Coalition once Kael was done with it.

Because Kael had thrown the info orb suddenly, everyone was forced to look in the direction he threw it.

When they saw Alora, it was then that they remembered that Kael had originally been standing with someone before.

Victoria looked at her with a narrowed gaze, recognizing that she was Alora, a member of Kael’s and the daughter of a former traitor, Pagast.

"Your silence has led me to believe that you did not bring any compensation for the emotional and structural damages you did to our kings by forming an alliance with Ma’abu," Kael said, bringing attention back to him.

Emperor Zain nodded his head, "Indeed," He said with a firm smile.

"We apologize, our previous alliance with Ma’abu was because he provided access and resources that we needed, so we had agreed to align with his ideology in the meantime."

Kael looked at Emperor Zain, his thoughts were as elusive as the strange wind of the Leonine Heavenly Realm.

"We demand compensation as part of the price for this alliance," Kael said plainly, "If you don’t plan on giving us compensation, you can forget about the alliance proposition.

Perhaps, we will eventually add you to our list of enemies, but for now, there will be no cooperation between us until all scores are settled."

Kael said and closed his mouth, waiting for them to respond.

The smile on Emperor Zain’s face froze, but it didn’t falter.

The faces of the surrounding Creation Dragons became extremely ugly.

Was this what it felt like to be bullied?

Alas, it couldn’t be helped, they had already lost the advantage the moment they thought of being allies with the lions.

It needed to be known that even now, the lions did not seek an alliance with anyone. In the history of the lion race, they had never been the ones to propose an alliance.

They always held the walk-away advantage that allowed them to make demands.

They had the leverage.

"Are we going to have this meeting out here?" Victoria asked, butting in to try to ease the tension.

Emperor Zain was looking down at Kael with his height advantage, wearing a very creepy yet kind smile.

"We shall talk of compensation in private," He said, to which Victoria nodded hurriedly.

They couldn’t talk about a second compensation in public. If they did, won’t they lose face in front of all those lions?

It wasn’t about accepting to give a compensation, it was the effect of accepting such a scary deal.

Once lions felt that anyone was a pushover, there was no going back.

It was already hard to maintain a level of politeness with the lions before now, talk more of basic respect.

If they agreed to give compensation in front of everyone here, it would be registered in their minds that they were willing to do anything to secure the alliance.

Emperor Zain really wanted this alliance, but he didn’t want to seem desperate. Besides, he had a safety net that he could always rely on in case of dire situations.

Thinking about this, Emperor Zain’s smile eased, "All-King, let us step into a private place for this discussion."

Kael blinked, "Accepted," He said, his voice trailing in the low blowing wind as his body had disappeared.

"This way," Alora suddenly said at this time, calling the attention of Emperor Zain and Victoria.

Victoria looked at Emperor Zain and saw that he was at ease, so she too felt at ease with whatever was going to happen.

The meeting was meant to happen inside the pyramid that Kael and his consorts had come out of.

Kael and Alora entered the pyramid, followed by Victoria and Emperor Zain.

As soon as the last two entered, a distorted space shield appeared around the pyramid, shielding it from the gaze of the onlookers.

The Creation Dragons and the welcome party of lions looked at each other before they started talking with themselves about one thing or the other.

There were a few Creation Dragons who tried to strike up a friendly conversation with the lions.

But very few lions actually entertained such conversations, mostly walking away the moment they saw a Creation Dragon coming over.

And the lions that actually decided to engage in conversations with the Creation Dragons were very few, like one out of a hundred.

Even then, the conversations were usually one-sided with the lions taking over and talking on and on about how great the lion civilization was or how awesome they were as a species.

The racist remarks were subtle but very noticeable.

Meanwhile, inside the pyramid.

The All-King, Alora, Victoria, and Emperor Zain sat down in one of the meeting rooms of this pyramid den.

The meeting room had a simple fur-covered table lying in the center and multiple pillow sofas surrounding the fur-covered table.

After the four of them sat down, Kael was the first to speak.

"This is Alora, she will be assisting me in the negotiation of the terms for this alliance," Kael said.

This was the main reason why he had allowed Alora to stay behind. Out of all his consorts, Alora was the most politically savvy among them.

Emperor Zain and Victoria paid closer attention to the white-skinned, white-haired lady with bright blue eyes.

She was cold, they could tell.

And also at the peak of the tier 5 power level.

She was strong, Victoria guessed, but definitely not her match. Victoria took solace in the fact that she was tier 7 and could theoretically crush Alora with a single finger.

It filled her with a false sense of power which she identified and still embraced.

As for whether she dared to actually hurt Alora...

"Hmm, yes, the alliance," Emperor Zain began. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"We both have a common enemy in the Destruction Dragons, and I heard recently that the Horses have been planning on joining them to eliminate the lion civilization.

I’m sure you are aware," Emperor Zian said.

Kael nodded, "I am," He said, "We do have a common enemy. And it may be beneficial to meter this alliance.

However, we lions never planned on having an alliance with anyone in the first place. It never crossed our minds, until you spoke of it."

When Kael referred to the lion race as ’Us’ and ’Our’, he was actually referring to himself, and unless one paid close attention, they might not pick it up.

Obviously, the lion race as a collective had not been thinking about the same thing, just Kael.

"I understand what you’re trying to say," Emperor Zain said calmly, "We are the ones that need you, you don’t need us."

"Precisely," Alora said, staring boldly into Emperor Zain’s eyes with her cold blue ones.

"You have to give us reasons to join this alliance," Alora added.

"But you all will also benefit, you guys will be able to win the war Ibadon wants to wage on you!" Victoria butted in.

Kael shook his head, "You assume that we are afraid of losing," He said, stunning the two Creation Dragons.

"You aren’t?" Emperor Zain raised a brow.

"Winners or losers, we remain conquerors to the end," Kael said, his golden eyes dazing as he seemed to peer into the very fabric of reality.

Victoria frowned, "But we can also assume that you prefer to win, even if you don’t care about losing."

"Enough, don’t steer away from the topic," Alora said, speaking decisively to prevent a drawn-out conversation.

Victoria looked at Alora, her eyes became slits as she observed this frost lioness in humanoid form.

"Are you giving us compensation or not?" Kael, leaned forward to place his hands on the center table.

Emperor Zain thought about it for a moment with Victoria looking at him to hear what he would say.

"What do you want?" Emperor Zain asked, willing to entertain the idea of spending more to bring the lions into his alliance.

Hearing the question, a simple harmless smile appeared on his face.

"We want her heart," He said, looking at Victoria with a predatory gaze, "Give her to us..."
