Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 703: Roles To Play
Shawn looked at Claudia.
"Should we agree?" Shawn asked his friend, whom he had known since he was a young g Primordial.
"Yes," Claudia responded telepathically.
"I sense bad luck," Shawn said truthfully.
Claudia raised an eyebrow, "I sense good luck," She said.
"How is that possible?" Shawn asked. They shouldn’t be able to sense good luck and bad luck at the same time.
One was supposed to stand in place of the other for there to be balance.
"Well, if we don’t agree, he’s clearly going to kill us," Claudia said, being brutally honest with Shawn.
"I know,"
"Is the bad luck you sense greater than death?" Claudia asked.
To this, Shawn paused. He really did not know.
Claudia shut off the telepathic link and turned to Kael. She made sure to look away from his eyes once in a while from his eyes to prevent what Shawn had told her about.
"I agree," She said with a deep breath. She could sense the prosperity surrounding Kael. She knew that joining this League of Primordials was going to be very beneficial to her.
"And you?" Kael said as he waved his hand and summoned a small stack of golden paper.
He flicked his fingers and the papers hovered close to Claudia’s face.
Shawn looked at the contract with a skeptical gaze. The survival instincts of his friend, Claudia, were so low that it was embarrassing.
Most of the reasons they had survived so long were because they could work together with Claudia being the one to point out opportunities and Shawn being responsible for assessing danger.
The relationship was symbiotic. But sometimes, Shawn wondered if the lack of good survival instincts was a general goldfish trait or something that was a result of the law they were affiliated with.
"If I agree, what do you want me to do?" Shawn suddenly asked, his guy telling him that things weren’t so simple.
Why them?
Why just them?
Ralph had been specifically tasked with hunting them down before he even knew who they were.
The All-King had ordered their capture long before he knew that the Law of Luck was split into two.
And this was very observant of him.
Most of the other Primordials that had been caught by the consorts were random and mostly a product of good fortune.
Shawn and Claudia were the only ones who had been caught under the specific request of Kael.
Surely, he had his reasons.
"I need your existence," Kael said truthfully, pacing around as he removed his hands from his back.
As he walked, he lowered his gaze and stared at all the primordials that fell in his gaze. One by one, all of them looked away.
They did not want to challenge their master by looking into his eyes.
Kael’s blonde hair ruffled slightly under the wind of the rising and dipping aura.
"You all have a purpose, every one of you. For us to form a tight-knit group with a high chance of success, we must all play our roles very well.
And what better way to increase our chances of success than to have the Primordials of Luck on our side."
Kael had thought about this from the moment he got Ralph as his subordinate.
The Strings of Fortune Coalition had been a big player in the lion race simply because they could influence the collective fate of the entire civilization.
Kael liked to scale his plans and imagine different scenarios.
Common sense told him that even though the members of the String of Fate Coalition were now on his side, they wouldn’t be able to influence the fortune on a cosmic scale.
The only way to do so was to directly take control of laws related to prosperity, fortune, and luck.
No one should underestimate the power of luck in any given scenario.
These two Primordials, Shawn and Claudia were weak now since they were competing against a literal anomaly like Kael.
But if they were to come under his wings and allow themselves to be used properly, there was no telling what could happen.
Kael stopped walking, "Agree now and you won’t just be a witness to the greatness to come, you will be a part of it."
Kael took a deep breath. He wanted to say more, but refrained from doing so.
Shawn, after some seconds of thinking carefully, finally nodded his head.
Only then did a small smirk appear on Kael’s face.
"Good," Another stack of golden papers appeared in front of Shawn.
Once again, Shawn looked to Claudia and saw that she had already signed the papers with her will alone.
He sighed, sensing that something wasn’t right.
Then with his will, he mentally agreed to the terms in the contract.
There was a golden flash of light, followed by a heavy pressure.
*WHOOSH!*
All the Primordials had a change of expression. Some of them had to take a step back, their feet digging into the ground with every step they took.
Kael squeezed his fists and grunted. He could feel it, the influx of two new sets of Law Essence.
The wind picked up, and the edges of his white robes billowed, giving him an incredibly majestic look.
His form inspired fear and awe. His shoulders looked way larger and his presence caused the ground to shake.
Kael’s aura was released for a very brief millisecond. But it was enough for all the Primordials to experience something that they never knew was possible.
The feeling that Kael gave them.
They didn’t know how to comprehend it.
It was like letting go and accepting defeat. It was like an ant standing in front of a cosmic whale. It was like a bird understanding that the sky was just too large.
It was the realization that no matter what, there was nothing that could be done to win against the All-King.
Nothing.
Exposure to Kael’s true nature would make most of them just want to sit down and accept their fate.
What else could they do? 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Of course, this was just the feeling that Kael’s aura gave and his actual power was yet to be known as he had not really engaged in any serious activities after his last evolution.
And yes, Kael had already evolved. He was tier 7 now...in name.
Tier 7 in the sense that that would be his official rank. Other than that, he shouldn’t have been able to slap the Primordial Bat to submission if he were an ordinary tier 7 Primordial.
Anyways, Kael was already setting his mind on other things now that he had access to the powers of Luck.
Now that the Primordial Goldfish and the Primordial Crow were on his side, his powers had gotten deeper again.
The gears of fate had finally begun to move, strange things had already started occurring in different parts of the universe.
