Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 704: Storming The Palace
One month later, Draconic Heaven.
Hundreds of arkships stormed the skies of the imperial palace, their masses shocking the few dragon guards who were patrolling the palace.
The atmosphere was tense, and it was clear that nothing good was going to happen from the sudden appearance of these arkships.
All these arkships were dragon arkships and it shouldn’t be strange that dragon arkships were flying close to the imperial palace.
In fact, all the dragon arkships here were oozing with the aura of the strongest dragon officials, meaning that all these arkships technically had a valid right to be here.
However, there was a problem: they were also technically not allowed to be there.
Ever since Regent Ibadon had taken full command of the whole dragon civilization, he had ordered that no one was allowed to come to the imperial palace.
This was because the palace had turned into a glorified prison for the Primordial Horse.
Ibadon now saw the Primordial horse as his golden key for revenge. He knew that many didn’t like President Musty and that many more would try to do something to him if they could, so he put the entire place on lockdown.
The only ones who were permitted to be here were some very powerful dragon guards who were loyal to Ibadon and President Musty’s four wives.
Ibadon trusted them to not only protect President Musty, but also deter anyone from coming here.
But then, here they were, charging at the imperial palace with hostile intent.
At the forefront of this charging formation of arkships were a group of dragons, massive and filled with the might of tier 7 powerhouses.
At the hem was a toxic green dragon with dark green scales, bright red eyes, and two massive wings that flapped tirelessly.
The appearance of this particular toxic green dragon shocked the loyal dragon guards down below as they spread their wings and growled, preparing for a brutal fight.
That green dragon was Imperial Guard Voldemort. Ibadon had specifically asked that Voldemort should not be allowed here.
Even though he was the chief of the imperial guard army, his unwillingness to understand Ibadon’s logic had put him on the other end of this coming civil war.
Indeed.
This was just the start of a civil war.
It was inevitable, as Seth had predicted.
The Destruction Dragons were doomed to be divided without a Primordial Dragon to hold them and unite them toward a common goal.
Now, the dragons didn’t have a common enemy that they could unite under, they just had wars which was clear to a one-year-old hatchling of its insignificance.
All the ears they were fighting with the lions were so insignificant and unimportant it made them realise that it wasn’t worth it, not with the absence of their Empress.
All this while, they had been running their whole empire, dying and living, reproducing and waging war, just so that an abomination could have his revenge?
Did Ibadon really see all of them as just pawns in his big game?
They could not take this. Ibadon might not value the Primordial Dragon but they did.
They needed her.
Voldemort snorted, feeling the harsh wind particles smashing against his hard green scales as he shot down like a green bean of light.
He was unceremonious and wasn’t going to stand around to reason with those dragon guards. He knew that all of them would try to reason with him too.
After all, he was their former boss.
"Voldemort! You shouldn’t be here!" A thunderous shout echoed across the vicinity of the palace as a pillar of blue lightning rose from the gate of the throne hall.
He was the new boss of the Imperial Guard army.
With steps that shook the ground with every thump, a massive sky-blue dragon walked out of the throne hall with a ferocious expression in its eyes.
Bucket-sized beams of electricity crackled around his limbs and wings, charging the air particles around him and ionising the surrounding kilometres.
He gazed at the incoming green dragon with anger. Why was Voldemort forcing his hand?
He had been one of Voldemort’s deputy chiefs and understood Voldemort well. This former boss of his was more loyal to his duty than the person who gave him that duty.
It wasn’t supposed to be so.
However, there was no time for chit-chat. If he didn’t attack, Voldemort would not show mercy.
Roaring to the sky to summon the tribulation lightning of the heavens, the new Imperial Guard boss changed himself and shot thousands of blue electric beams at Voldemort.
Voldemort narrowed his eyes.
He spread his wings, causing his body to rapidly slow down, creating a sonic boom and a gust of green heat waves that rushed downwards.
At the same time, another dragon charged forth from behind Voldemort, coated in shiny metallic scales.
This dragon was also very powerful, causing the air to vibrate tremendously with every flap of his bladed wings.
He bashed his four long silver horns with the beam of blue electricity, allowing all the charge to flow into his body.
Voldemort did not wait behind to see the result, he was working on borrowed time here.
The arkships behind him immediately started firing,. covering for him and clearing a path while the dragon officials all smashed down to the palace grounds to fight their former colleagues.
Voldemort, like a green ghost, zipped past all the ensuing chaos and smashed into one of the palace’s weaker walls.
He dashed straight for President Musty’s room, ignoring the crystal throne and all the other important things in the palace.
He had once been a place guard so he knew all the vulnerable places, like the wall he just smashed through.
All the walls and doors of the palace were not weak by any means, just that Voldemort was strong enough to break through some of them without much effort.
Utilising his speed as a tier u dragon, Voldemort was fast, inevitably leaving a trail of green fire behind him.
"Voldemort! Do you think Ibadon will spare you for this? Stop!" The same thunderous howl of the new Imperial Guard Boss reached Voldemort’s ears.
The blue electric dragon followed after Voldemort from behind, only a few seconds late.
He was fast and agile, easily bending around the corners and doing crazy maneuvers to close the distance.
A loud boom reached the reptilian ears of the Imperial Guard Boss, coming from the same direction as President Musty’s room.
Ibadon had commanded him not let anyone come here. He couldn’t believe that he would have to fail the first assignment that Ibadon gave him. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Meanwhile, Voldemort had successfully breached President Musty’s holding room.
He didn’t charge in through the doors or walls. Instead, he broke through the floor and ascended into the room like a god of death.
Inside, President Musty was at the end of the room in his humanoid form wearing a perfectly calm expression.
It looked like he had been expecting this to happen.
However, his wives who had also been with him inside the room were not expecting it.
The large wooden table was blasted into thousands of tiny splinters and the floor caved out, clearing a path between Voldemort and President Musty.
At the same time, Voldemort activated his chimera powers. Vines covered in green flames burst out of the space around him, shielding and integrating with the room to seal all the holes and flaws.
From the outside, this vast room was no longer part of the imperial palace. It had been cut off by the flaming vines and was now looking like a swamp box.
This temporarily prevented the new Imperial Guard Boss from entering the room as he had already begun drenching the whole place with pillars of thunder strikes.
One of President Musty’s wives, the one with a single horn on her head, transformed into her true form, a large green unicorn-like horse.
She rushed Voldemort with pure killing intent, closing the gap between them almost instantly.
Voldemort’s nostrils expanded, releasing a cold snort.
The long dragon tail behind him lashed out like a torturer’s favourite whip.
The tier 6 power of this green unicorn was nothing in front of Voldemort.
She was slashed into two, and it wasn’t even two equal or clean parts. The tails tore roughly down her spine, pulling her spinal cord down and cutting through the rest of her abdomen.
All she felt was her skull and back being pulled out of her skin before everything went dark.
"No..." President Musty’s calm expression finally broke away to reveal panic. With rage and fear in his eyes, he stared at the two halves of his wife and the puddle of blood forming around the two halves.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" President Musty shouted, his eyes glowing as his body began to shift.
Voldemort replied by taking a heavy step toward the Primordial Horse and his remaining wives. The sound of his claws scraping the wooden floor grated on their ears and filled them with a cold chill.
One question rose in the minds of not just the horses but the dragons outside.
"Where was Ibadon?"
