Chapter 761: Chapter 761: Sister Ambush

In the vast Heavenverse that existed in a location that couldn’t be navigated or located, the Leonine Heaven bled from its black scars, caused by the vengeful actions of the abomination and the avatar of Oblivion.

The central coverage still had that large blanket of darkness and empty void that tainted its integrity.

The golden skies were starting to creep back in and the darkness was being devoured by the gold from the edges.

It would take a while, probably the recovery of the lion race to fully turn the central coverage back to what it once was.

But for now, some lions have started coming here to populate the area. They had stolen the planets and continents that belonged to the mortal plain and set upon their lion sanctuaries to float aimlessly.

At a certain corner of the Central Coverage, a place where the darkness was recovering fast, the Apex continent existed with a lot of activities happening here.

Eidel and Ruda floated in the sky in their humanoid form.

Eidel had her hands folded in front of her in a way that packed her bosoms and Ruda was hovering with a tyrannical look in her eyes.

Eight fiery tails swung left and right behind Eidel, a symbol of her complete mastery over the various types of fire.

Her eyes were red and orange, flashing with the burning gaze of a seasoned warrior.

Ruda’s body also brimmed with pink electrical power.

"Sister, wouldn’t it be nice if Kael could come back before this Pyramid is finished?" Ruda said.

"I doubt if the pyramid would be finished anytime soon," Eidel said absent-mindedly.

Her attention was on Ruda and her words but it was also on the figures she was looking at.

Down below, under the hums of various construction shuttles and flashing lights, insect-like beings went to and from, carrying different things with them.

Termites.

Kael had permitted these foreigners to be here now that he had their Primordials under his control.

They operated in different sizes. Some were as small as a dog and others were as large as magic shuttles.

They moved around with purpose, as if being guided by an external mind and will.

They all circled the massive unfinished Apex Pyramid.

Many beavers had died here the last time and although more had been recruited to cruelly replace their predecessors, there were not as many as before.

The termites were the ones who dominated the fields these days.

They were focused on fixing the damage done to the Apex Pyramid caused by the Crystal Throne, only then would they shift their priorities to completing the project.

Eidel did not mind their presence here, despite being a fire lion, she was relatively calm when it came to the foreigners.

But the other consorts were not the same. They had been corrupted by Kael’s way of thinking as well as the various cultural norms of the lion race.

Eidel gave a side glance to Ruda and saw that she was looking at the termites with a look of disdain. The same distinct looks that all lions and lionesses gave foreigners.

Perhaps, it was because Eidel was aware of the difference between being affected by her powers and being calm that she was able to subconsciously reject ideas that were not hers.

"But yes, I do hope that he comes before then," Eidel added.

Ruda nodded, "The way I’m seeing things, Project Desolate Divine is going to be incredibly hard, if not impossible.

It’s not like Horror Heaven has any outposts that we can attack and steal heavenly beacons from.

At least,.there is a clear plan for Hive Heaven as we can actually have a chance to catch one of their queens and take the heavenly beacons.

But what next?

After Hive Heaven and Draconic Heaven, what’s next? How do we access other heavens that we haven’t been to before?"

Although Ruda’s words were filled with skepticism, she was asking the same thing that was on everyone’s mind.

"Brute force," Eidel said rather calmly. It was a strange thing for anyone to see. Eidel’s face was almost a.mix between calmness and aggressiveness.

Her eyes burned brightly with fierce fire but her lip barely twitched and her nose did not scrunch up.

"What?" Ruda asked.

"Brute force," Eidel repeated, "Katari doesn’t care about precision. She is ready to shred the universe over and over again until she finds the right heaven.

It’s inefficient, but you know Katari. If there is no way, she’ll create one."

Ruda sighed, "Sometimes I wish I could think like Katari. She’s so..."

Ruda couldn’t find the right word.

"Scary?" Eidel asked.

Even now, Katari remains a fear factor in the minds of all the consorts.

"Maybe, but she’s so... hardworking," Ruda said, finally finding the words. Her pink eyes sparked in agreement.

Eidel shrugged her shoulders, "That’s what makes her who she is.

Hey, do you remember when we were back on Eridoria, and Katari was living in our pride?"

"Yeah," Ruda answered.

"Back when we were just powerless cubs, Katari was the first to stand by Kael’s side.

She even challenged father because of him.

I always wondered why she was like that. I have come to understand through my stay at planet Kareem that most who exhibit her kind of personality were either born with it, or they developed it through some trauma.

It would appear Katari was born like that. If she had not met Kael, she would have never bonded with anyone ever."

Hearing this, Ruda sighed too, "Katari was really bummed many times when following Kael.

But I can see that her endurance paid off, Kael trusts her more than any of us."

Eidel shook her head, "I don’t think Kael trusts anyone."

"Hehehe, remember that crane that almost killed her? What was his name again?" Eidel said, trying to remember a name.

"Isaiah," Eidel said.

"Yeah, that bird really gave us trouble..." Ruda was talking all of a sudden.

*BAM!*

Something slammed into her from behind, causing her body to fly out and smash into one of the passing construction shuttles.

Eidel had moved out of the way without thinking, her fiery eyes staring at the exploding shuttle, filtering through the heat to sense the thermal signature of her sister.

At the same time, her senses spread out, searching for the creature bold enough to ambush them.
