Reincarnated in the Royal Family with a Plunder System-Chapter 45: Kidnapped
Chapter 45: Kidnapped
All Ryan remembered was that gaze.
Cold. Indifferent. Absolute.
It didn’t scream. It didn’t threaten. It simply looked at him—as if he were dust in the wind, beneath notice, beneath consequence.
Then—nothing.
He did not even have the breadth of mind to properly understand what his evolved Skill was capable of.
A void swallowed his thoughts, and his mind went black.
When awareness returned, he found himself surrounded by darkness. Not the kind born of night, but the kind that pressed in on the soul.
"You seem alright," a soft voice murmured, brushing the silence aside like mist.
Ryan groaned, a weight in his chest dragging him back into his body.
That voice... he knew it.
"Where... am I?" His throat was dry, each word a struggle. "I feel... sick."
A gentle hand caressed his cheek.
"Take your time," the voice said. "You’re safe now."
It was her.
Just her voice conjured a vision—one that seared itself into his mind: a woman of elegant beauty, of pinnacle demureness, the kind who slowly but surely became part of you.
Ryan reached out, blindly, grasping for something real. Warm fingers wrapped around his.
His heart stilled. His vision cleared.
"...Eleanor," he whispered.
Eleanor pouted. "Are your senses fine now?"
"Yeah I can see you. You look gorgeous in that battle dress."
"Oh, don’t flatter me."
"I am not flattering. Anyway, why am I here?"
She glared at him with her ocean blue eyes. "You ask me that? After all the ruckus you caused?"
Ryan held his head. "What did I do?"
Her glare deepened. "Your body was wracked full of wounds and your sister was dragging you through the corridors. Shouting your mother’s name for help. Obviously—you caused a ruckus."
Ryan grimaced. "But shouldn’t I be with my mother then?"
He could guess what had happened. After daring to absorb something, anything, from the Heavens—he had been wounded badly. He must have lost his consciousness after the event. That might have frightened Seraphina enough to call for help.
Yet, he should have ended up with his mother in that case. Why was he with Eleanor?
"Well, I kidnapped you."
"..."
Really? Ah, that makes sense.
No.
Like fuck it makes sense.
"...Explain yourself?"
"Yeah, I kidnapped you from your useless sister. Your mother chased after me for a while, but she couldn’t catch up." Eleanor folded her arms. "Heh, Lysandra never was as strong as me."
Ryan asked softly: "... Are we not in the palace anymore?"
Eleanor smiled.
"No. We are in the Great Wilderness now."
"...Great Wilderness?"
Now that Ryan was more sober, he was startled. Indeed, he was no longer inside a royal bedroom—nor in a palace corridor. He was deep inside some sort of wilderness, trees towering over him.
He touched his face, feeling cold.
There was not even much sunlight in this area.
"This place couldn’t be the Great Wilderness where giant monsters live, could it?"
"Yes, Ryan. This is exactly that place."
Miss Eleanor, why do you look so nonchalant?
This is not an instakram reel okay?
Show some expression.
The color drained from Ryan’s face. "Eleanor, my family would be worried."
She smiled brightly. "I hate your family, so that’s fine."
"Eleanor, we are in a very dangerous place."
"I am a very dangerous person, so that’s fine."
"Eleanor, why did you kidnap me?"
"Because of how fucking inept your so-called family is. To think that you were wounded that badly with them around you." Eleanor glared sharply again. "I decided they no longer had the right to look after you."
"Eleanor, I want to return to the palace."
Eleanor looked away, then extended a hand for him. He took it, raising to his feet.
"Are you scared of me?" She asked calmly.
Ryan looked at her beautiful face with exasperation. Like, you know, why are you so extreme?
Chill out.
"I am not scared of you," he said.
She nodded. "I assumed as much by how many times I have been kissed already. If you are scared, then why do you want to return?"
"Well, I am not afraid of you but I am sure my sister is wary of you. And I think my mother is afraid of you. They must be wracked with fear over the fact that I am with you."
She shrugged.
Then sighed.
"Anyway, I did not plan to stay here for long anyway. I came here to meet a friend of mine and just thought you would be good to have with me. We will return after we meet him."
Ryan took a deep breath, then nodded. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
"And boy, I scanned your whole body while I was careying you here."
Ryan’s face changed a bit. "And?"
"It truly seems like the Shard of Infinity has integrated into your very cells. You also have a very weird class, definitely not a human class. I am curious, what class did you end up in?"
Eleanor’s blue eyes flashed with curiosity. She was sure that Ryan had ended up with a very weird, but similarly powerful Class. But Eleanor herself was not someone with an Appraisal skill or method, so she did not really know Ryan’s true depths. Yet, as someone wildly stronger than Ryan—she had been able to sense some things.
Should I tell her?
Ryan wondered about the risk of revealing everything to her. In the end—he was not going to reveal it all so easily.
His face consternated into a weird expression.
Eleanor tapped his shoulders. "Don’t worry, I know you don’t trust me that much."
He sighed.
"I am willing to start trusting you, but you have to prove that you are worthy."
Eleanor rolled her eyes. "Don’t say that to someone so much stronger than you. If I wanted to make you tell the truth, I can just force you to tell the truth. Just by not doing that, I am being trustworthy."
Ryan blinked.
Oi oi, that’s a bit too much for my ego.
His face became gloomy.
She smiled and ruffled his hair. "Look at you, so stiff and serious. Actually, I already know you have the Plunder Sucker class."
Yes, she could not really sense Ryan’s true depths. But still—that did not mean the Beasts under her control could not do that.
Eleanor was a Beast Tamer and she had all sorts of beasts under her control. And a beast with an Appraisal skill was a necessity for all great Beast Tamers.
Once again, Ryan’s face became consternated.
"You women really don’t care about a person’s privacy. This is too nosy."
He did not like it.
She shrugged. "I did not want a weakling like Seraphina to ruin your potential. She might be a talented kid, but she is a kid in the end. I needed to know your class to know who can train you best."
Ryan suddenly connected the dots. "Wait... then this friend you wanted to meet?"
"Yes, he will be your new mentor. He is a dangerous guy but if he sees you, he might help you big time."
Ryan sighed.
There was no reasoning with a woman like his aunt. Not when he was so much weaker than her. Then—what he had to do was clear.
He should take what he gets and enjoy the time.
"This is a bit too much for me to take in all of a sudden," he said with an emotional expression. "I need a few kisses to get me into the groove."
He moved closer but Eleanor held his forehead with a finger, not letting him closer.
"My friend is here, Ryan."
A shadow loomed over him and Ryan dumbly looked up.
It was as if he was in AOT.
As if he was looking up at the Collossal Titan.
No, this motherfucking thing should be even bigger.
On god.
A being, so huge that Ryan felt like an ant, spread the trees apart and looked down at them.
"Eleanor, no, Aunt—" Ryan called.
"Yes?"
"I know you are strong but maybe we should run regardless..."
