Chapter 102: Hero Of Solinthar

The Solinthar Empire frontline collapsed under the sheer numbers of the horde, and panic ensued. While many tried to flee, the ones who chose to fight could barely hold off against the staggering numbers of the enemy.

Their cavalry unit charged forward, displaying commendable bravery and heroism, but they were quickly overwhelmed by the thousands of Orc Beast Riders.

What was once a fierce battle between two sides quickly became a one-sided massacre!

And that’s where I come in!

As a man who has led mercenaries and troops into battles, the most important thing an army needs in moments like this is hope.

The world seemed dark, their warlocks were clearly out of breath and a step away from death. What they needed was a ray of light that could pierce through the darkness and show them the path to survival.

I WILL BECOME THAT LIGHT!

"ENOUGH!" I bellowed at the top of my voice, drawing confused glances from both armies.

SWOOSH!

BOOOM!

Smashing into the orc horde with immense power, I created a small crater with three crushed orcs reduced into a bloody paste.

Silence!

Everyone froze, their wary gaze pinned on the overpowered newcomer. Even the Kahut stopped, and the orc commander stood up from his throne, walking forward to have a better look at the powerful entity that joined the fight.

However, upon seeing me—I saw him too. And the system took note of him.

[Information Collected]

[Name:] Kïtæ

[Race:] Orc

[Tribe:] Bloodfang Horde

[Hierarchy:] Orc Berserker

[Stats]

[Strength:] 12

[Speed:] 10

[Vitality:] 7

[Intelligence:] 5

[Name:] Nil

[Race:] Kahut

[Role:] War Mount

[Stats]

[Strength:] 20

[Speed:] 7

[Vitality:] 15

[Intelligence:] 2

With my Berserk Mode and Blood Ignition stacked, I had somewhere around 15 points in Strength and Speed. While this was a big downgrade from the 18 I used to have in the past, it was far beyond what any of these lowlives could compare to.

Only someone like Kïtæ and his mount could fight me directly.

However, the problem was—I had used my Berserk Mode, and the clock was ticking. I could either force the orcs to retreat through intimidation or by killing their commander.

"Another human?" Kïtæ said in an inquisitive tone while sizing me up. "You are... Traveler?"

Since he had up to 5 points in Intelligence, I wasn’t shocked he could speak the human language. I’m certain Righteous had fewer points in Intelligence, and even he could speak the human language.

However, by using the word ’traveler,’ it seems people of this world had come across other invaders like us.

I’m not sure why, but it felt unsettling to me.

"This is not your concern!" Kïtæ’s surprise was quickly replaced with anger.

"I AM HUMAN... IT IS MY CONCERN!" I snapped back, and Kïtæ jerked back in shock.

Clearly, he hadn’t had anyone talk back to him like this in a long time.

"Withdraw, or everyone dies!" I snarled, with both hands placed behind me while I stood still like a peerless master.

I could hear whispers from the sides. They were from humans who once thought it was over for them. Now, a ray of light had appeared—one bold enough to challenge the orc commander and even dive directly into the orc horde alone.

They were picking up their shields, swords, and spears.

If this traveler was going to protect them, how could they give up now?

Even the orc soldiers were anxious.

A man cloaked in darkness flew out from nowhere and crashed not around the human camp—but right at the center of their horde, not too far from their commander.

He boldly challenged their leader and declared he would kill everyone.

Why wouldn’t they be anxious or skeptical of this mysterious traveler?

Who knew what sort of dark witchcraft he could perform?

"Grakh zul’krah vor’mak!" Kïtæ snarled, and the system translated;

[Translation:] I’ll kill you first!

Hiaaaaa!

The Kahut responded to its master’s call and charged forward abruptly!

Many orcs in its path were trampled, while the rest ran in every direction.

All eyes were on me, gasps coming from all sides as they noticed I wasn’t moving.

Everyone was eager to see if my words were mere bluffs or if I was actually as powerful as I claimed to be.

Rumble! Rumble!

Rumble! Rumble!

Fifty meters away—and I had yet to lift a finger!

Forty...

Thirty...

Twenty...

Ten...

"VANISH!"

BUZZ!

Darkness erupted from my body, surging forward as it quickly formed a towering black gate in front of me!

The doors snapped open—and the Kahut charged in—before the doors slammed shut again.

Everyone watched the gates crumble and the dark fumes flow back into my body.

Buzz!

Even though no one spoke, I felt the energy shift. The silence was heavy as the orcs and humans looked around in search of the Kahut and the orc commander—who commanded fear and respect from both allies and enemies alike.

But he was gone...

"Your leader is dead," I said calmly—but my words sent shivers down the spines of everyone who heard them.

Buzz!

The orcs closest to me took a step back, even though they were far from my location.

They believed my lies—and my confidence made it hard to see through my bluff.

They had witnessed something they had never seen before, and they were scared.

This was a natural reaction.

"Who wants to die next?" I asked.

And upon hearing that, an orc grunt wielding a spear was the first to turn around and flee.

One after the other—be it riders or orc grunts—they all ran away, and they kept a fifty-meter distance when running past me.

RRRREEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

A human screamed with his shield raised, and the others joined in.

They didn’t try to chase or attack the fleeing horde—they just screamed with the excitement of men who were marked for death but were given a second chance by the heavens...

Me!

Ding!

The notification sounds poured in, and the orc horde retreated like cowards—but none had my attention.

Instead, I pondered deeply on how this orc berserker failed to react to my door ability like the orc berserker in Lee Bai’s army.

Clearly, the difference between the two was experience.

One was familiar with my ability and understood how it worked, while the other wasn’t.

And the only way the orc berserker understood my ability is if he had seen it long enough to counter it.

Since he could counter it from our first encounter, it meant he had this knowledge prior to our clash.

The only person who could possess the [Door] talent...

Is another Gatekeeper.

This reinforced my suspicion that all Gatekeepers start with the same subskill.

The only difference is the abilities acquired along our journey through the realms.

"Lee Bai..." My brows knitted together and my fists clenched tight.
