Chapter 108: I WANT TO PROTECT YOU

The moment Logan faced the first attack, he realized something—

If he tries to face those attacks head-on, there is no way his body will come out in one piece.

So he suddenly unleashed every bit of his internal energy to speed up and dodged the incoming spheres.

And then—Swoosh!

He shot forward toward Rowan.

Within a blink, he was standing right behind him. Rowan couldn’t even notice his arrival.

A martial artist’s speed is superhuman when compared to an ordinary person.

A mage is a strong fighter for sure. But without magic, their physical abilities are no different from a regular person—unlike those with cultivation from Logan’s past life.

It was this exact explosive power that allowed Logan to instantly wipe out Alice’s kidnappers. There were one Tier 4 and two Tier 3. But they all died before they could even react.

And it was also this ability that let him save Rowan from the Orc last day—during that second life-threatening attack.

Back to the present...

Rowan wanted to move—

But suddenly, he froze.

He could feel it.

Someone was standing right behind him.

Everyone else could see who it was, standing behind Rowan—

But they couldn’t process how it had even happened.

Even Elias was shocked beyond words, who was still watching the duel.

"What just happened?

How did he get there?

When did he move?"

Everyone had the same questions in mind.

Logan placed a hand on Rowan’s shoulder.

"You lose."

Since he was standing directly behind Rowan, he could have attacked if he wanted to—

but he didn’t.

Because this... was enough.

Enough to let his opponent understand that he lost.

Rowan raised his hand with a sigh.

"Yeah, I know. I admit defeat."

Then he turned around with a smile.

"That was amazing. So that’s the power of cultivation."

Even though he lost the match, Rowan had no regrets.

The duel itself had been an eye-opener.

Now, he truly understood the depth of cultivation. And he was genuinely thrilled.

That speed, that raw power...

It felt like something beyond this world.

"Thanks," Logan replied with a polite smile.

"I only won because of it. Otherwise, I’d be toast by now—you didn’t hold back at all."

"Only because I knew you could handle it."

They were still exchanging words and laughter when, from a distance, Daliah came running toward them and threw her arms around Rowan.

Then she looked up at Logan, eyes wide with excitement.

"Woah! You’re seriously strong! Can you teach me how to fight like that?"

Her eyes sparkled like polished marbles—full of enthusiasm.

"Huh?" Rowan blinked in surprise.

"Why do you want to learn to fight like that? You aren’t planning to try that on me, are you?" he asked teasingly, tugging playfully at her cheek.

But Daliah’s answer stunned him.

"So I can protect you!"

Daliah raised a small fist, her voice filled with confidence.

There was no doubt, no hesitation—only determination.

She meant every word.

"You...!"

Rowan had been laughing moments ago, but suddenly he was caught off guard by what Daliah just said. Emotions overwhelmed him.

This sister of his was his world. He wanted to protect her. Not just her, but others as well.

But he had never noticed how—even as a child—his sister had already matured this much.

Logan had high regards for Rowan. And now Daliah had also attained that same spot. He was genuinely impressed by this pair of siblings and their love for each other.

He stepped in to ease the moment, smiling softly.

"Of course I’ll teach you. Your brother clearly needs someone to protect him—

otherwise, he’ll go charging into danger again without thinking."

None of them could help but burst into laughter.

But Daliah still asked,

"It’s a promise?"

"It is," Logan replied with a smile.

"Let’s go inside. We can talk more there," Rowan said.

The sparring session finally ended and Rowan was really satisfied with it.

The regret of not being able to fight Logan properly during the tournament...

The curiosity about the true depth of his strength...

And the questions about his body strengthening technique...

All of it was finally answered today.

The three of them walked back toward the palace while chatting. As they passed, everyone they met bowed with respect.

But this time, the respect wasn’t just for Rowan.

They were bowing to Logan too.

A boy whose fighting skills had amazed them all.

At the same time, somewhere far away...

Far outside of Aerundale, a tall mountain touched the clouds.

It was called Veylor’s Crown, the highest peak in Arcadia.

A woman stood alone at western summit of it.

It was Mirena.

She looked calm, but her eyes were sharp.

Suddenly, she heard footsteps behind her.

She turned quickly—and saw two people walking toward her.

She recognised one of them.

It was Zereth.

The other man was a stranger.

"You didn’t make late," Zereth said with a grin.

"Did I have a choice?" Mirena replied.

Then she added in a colder tone,

"My father helped you once, Zereth. Is this how you repay him?"

Zereth raised a hand, still calm.

"Relax. We didn’t bring you here to hurt you. Our Sect Master only wants to talk."

"What kind of talk?" Mirena asked.

She already knew this was about Logan.

Still, she wanted to hear it clearly.

"You’ll understand when you meet him," Zereth said.

He didn’t explain more.

Instead, he nodded to the man beside him.

That man stepped forward.

He was holding a black cloth in his hand.

Mirena frowned. "What’s that? What are you trying to do?"

"We’re not going to harm you," Zereth replied.

"But our sect’s location is a secret. We can’t let you see the path."

"You’ll need to be blindfolded."

Mirena hesitated.

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

But then, after a moment, she gave a small nod.

"Fine," she said quietly.

The man holding the black cloth stepped forward and gently blindfolded Mirena.

Then, guiding her carefully, they began moving toward their destination.

After some time, they finally stopped—

in front of a towering cliff face.

Zereth looked around carefully—

making sure no one was nearby.

Once he was sure they were alone,

the three of them—along with Mirena—

walked straight into the cliff face...and vanished.

as if the mountain itself swallowed them whole.
