REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 110: MASTER OF THE MASTER
Chapter 110: MASTER OF THE MASTER
The old man—the Sect Master—looked furious.
His name was Lucas.
Though he was looking ferocious, inside, his mind was still working clearly.
He was desperate to obtain Logan’s secret technique, yes.
But had he lost the ability to think rationally?
No.
He didn’t want to kill Mirena.
He only wanted to intimidate her, to confirm she truly didn’t know anything about the technique.
After all, if she did... then why had his son lost so easily to Logan?
Deep down, Lucas had a hunch.
He believed that neither Mirena nor anyone else in the Smith family actually knew the secret behind Logan’s strength.
But he had to test that theory for himself.
So finally, in a calm voice, Lucas asked,
"Tell me—what else have you noticed about Logan?"
But Mirena was still gasping, hunched over on the ground.
Even though Lucas had let go of her throat, her condition was still miserable.
She coughed violently, struggling just to breathe.
It took her a while to get her breath back.
Only then could she speak again.
"N-Nothing else," she said between gasps. "That’s all... when his mana core was sealed... he used to do physical training. Every single day. And he continued growing strong. Some of us thought it was black magic. That’s why I asked for Zereth’s help and he himself claimed that Logan was no black magic practitioner. So we stopped this fuss"
Though she said that, a memory flashed before her eyes—clear as day.
It had happened not long ago.
Just a few days before Alice was kidnapped.
She and Rudeous were sipping tea when she suddenly saw Logan finishing his training session.
After that, suddenly he just punched into empty air.
But the result was terrifying.
The force behind that punch made a huge crater in a wall.
The damage it caused was absurd.
But even that wasn’t the most shocking part.
What stunned her the most—
was what Rudeous had said after witnessing it. Though she also guessed the same thing, Rudeous’s confirmation still shook her.
He said Logan hadn’t used any mana at all.
It was pure, raw physical strength.
Back in the present.
Mirena was still lost in her thoughts when Lucas’s cold voice snapped her out of it.
"Are you sure?" he asked sharply.
"Yes, I swear." She said hiding her true thoughts.
At first, she really had believed that Logan was using black magic.
But over time, that belief had started to crack.
She was sure that it wasn’t black magic, but she didn’t know what it was either. Until now.
Lucas’s question triggered something in her mind.
Maybe it really was some kind of secret technique. It had to be.
And if that was true, then everything about Logan—the parts that had always felt impossible—would suddenly start to add up.
His unnatural physical strength.
His rapid progress in training.
His overwhelming victory against Darius, even with his mana core being sealed.
All of it.
Mirena didn’t know how Logan had obtained such a technique—or where he learned it from—but she was almost ninety percent sure that he really possessed something like that.
But she would never make the mistake of sharing that theory with the Sect Master.
She already regretted coming here, regretted asking Zereth for help.
There was no point in digging herself deeper. That’s why she intentionally held back and didn’t share anything further with Lucas. Because anything else and she might endanger her own survival.
Lucas, meanwhile, was still thinking.
Even if Mirena didn’t know about the secret technique directly, she should have at least noticed something unusual. But according to her, there was nothing else.
That inconsistency kept a sliver of doubt alive in his mind.
After a brief silence, Lucas asked another question, this time in a measured voice:
"Where is Logan now?"
Mirena answered carefully, making sure her nerves didn’t show in her voice.
"He’s in the royal palace. After the tournament, the Third Prince invited him there."
Lucas remained silent for a moment.
Then he glanced toward Edward and gave a subtle nod.
Edward responded with a respectful bow and turned to face Mirena.
"Let’s go," he said. Then paused, adding, "But before that..."
He raised his hand slightly.
A black cloth, which had been lying folded nearby, floated up as if obeying an unspoken command and wrapped itself back around Mirena’s eyes, blindfolding her once again.
"Move," Edward ordered curtly.
Both of them began walking slowly, their footsteps echoing as they reentered the tunnel—
Tap... Tap... Tap...
Their sound faded into the distance.
But Lucas kept staring in the direction of their retreat for a long time.
Only after the echo disappeared did he turn away.
He walked forward and pressed his hand against a specific spot on the stone wall.
With a faint rumble—like the murmur of a small earthquake—the wall creaked open.
Lucas stepped inside.
Darkness surrounded him as he walked forward slowly.
And then...
Light gradually bloomed from within the chamber.
As the space lit up, a young man came into view—half-reclined on a sofa, calmly reading a book.
Lucas stepped forward and knelt down respectfully before him.
"My lord," he said, "it seems his family truly knows nothing. And currently, he’s staying at the royal palace."
The young man slowly sat up straight.
He looked at Lucas and asked in a cool, even voice,
"Are you sure? They really don’t know?"
"It appears that way, my lord," Lucas replied.
The young man’s lips curved into a faint smile.
"Then there’s only one option left," he said.
"Bring the boy to me. No more caution is needed."
"But my lord, the boy seems to have caught the Third Prince’s attention. Should we wait a few da—"
Lucas couldn’t finish his sentence.
"Don’t make me repeat a command twice... unless you wish to die."
The young man’s voice rang out.
The sheer weight of it nearly crushed the last bit of life force left in Lucas.
"U-Understood, my lord. Please forgive my insolence—just this once."
Lucas immediately dropped to his knees, pressing his forehead against the floor with a hard thud.
"Leave."
The young man didn’t even glance at him.
Lucas sprang to his feet, bowed once more, and turned around to leave without another word.
