Chapter 35: LA Trip

Narrator’s POV

A week passed, and Ella and Fiona were finally ready for their trip to LA. Nathan had told Fiona he was handling everything. All Ella had to do was show up with her things. Nathan’s parents stood at the doorway and watched as Nathan and Fiona left together. They exchanged knowing looks. They could tell their son was in love, the usual Nathan would never step away from work for a trip like this, not even for a concert.

They picked Ella up from her house and headed to the airport. Fiona only realized something was different when they drove past the main terminal. "Wait... where are we going?" she asked. Nathan glanced at her. "We’re taking my private jet." Ella’s mouth fell open. "You really have no idea how wealthy your boyfriend is," Nathan said with a smirk. Fiona looked away shyly, Ella squealed softly and pinched her arm.

They stopped at a private hangar, far from the crowd. Officials greeted Nathan with respect as they boarded the jet. For the first time, she truly understood what being a VIP meant, and it was all because of Fiona. Nathan and Fiona sat opposite each other, talking softly, while Ella sat in another seat sipping expensive wine. She just realised the benefits of having a friend who’s boyfriend was a billionaire.

They arrived in LA hours later and the hotel they arrived at was massive, elegant, and quite luxurious. The moment Nathan stepped in, the staff straightened up. Smiling instantly. "Welcome back, Mr. Keith." "Good evening, sir." They handed the keys to Nathan immediately and Fiona and Ella watched how respectful people can be once you’re rich. Fiona leaned closer to Ella. "This feels unreal."

When they reached the elevator6 , Fiona hesitated. "Can Ella and I share a room?" Nathan nodded easily. "Of course, and make sure to relax. The concert isn’t until 10 pm." Nathan handed Ella the key and Fiona and her nodded excitedly and rushed off together like kids on a school trip. Nathan watched them disappear down the hall, then entered and left quietly.

Later, the room was filled with smell of soap and laughter. They had just bathed, and were wrapped in robes, Ella sat on the bed while Fiona dried her hair. "You know you’re insanely lucky, right?" Ella said. "Like... fairytale lucky." Fiona smiled but went quiet for a second, her thoughts drifted. What if this wasn’t just temporary? What if it was real? She shook it off and laughed. "Stop." Then she remembered something. "Oh, Nathan’s brother Caleb asked about you. He wants to meet you in person." Ella screamed. "What? When? Where? Is he cute?" Fiona laughed. "Ella, calm down." "I will not calm down! You’re just telling me now!"

That night, the concert venue was alive. Everywhere was lit up. Sounds of music pulsing through the air. The crowd buzzed with excitement. As they approached the entrance, Fiona looked up at Nathan. "Nathan the tickets." Nathan only smiled at her. "You won’t need them." He led them away from the main entrance to a private one. Security saw them, nodded and stepped aside. And a bodyguard escorted them inside. The moment they walked in, Ella froze. Ella and Fiona screamed at the same time, grabbing each other, almost crying. They were really there. Meeting the famous singers, right in front of them. In the same room.

While the girls were still losing their minds, the boys noticed Nathan. "No way," one of them said, walking over. "Nathan Keith? We didn’t think you’d actually come." Nathan smiled. "Told you I’d come." He turned and gently pulled Fiona closer, his arm settling around her waist naturally. "This is Fiona," he said. "My girlfriend." Fiona froze for half a second before relaxing into him. "And this," Nathan added, gesturing, "is Ella." The boys stared. "Hold on," one of them said slowly. "So the rumors were real?" "We didn’t believe you," another laughed. "Nathan Keith with a girlfriend? We thought it was just gossips." Fiona felt her face heat up as Nathan’s grip tightened just slightly. "Nice to finally meet you," one of them said, smiling at Fiona. "You must be a very special person." Fiona didn’t know what to say, she just knew this night was already more than she expected.

The night went on with laughter and music, and for a moment, Fiona forgot about everything else. She was living in a dream, and she didn’t want to wake up. Drinks kept coming and they drank up. Ella turned to her, her eyes shining. "Best night ever!" Fiona smiled, feeling the same way. Nathan’s hand found hers, and he leaned in close. "Enjoying the night?" he whispered. Fiona nodded, her heart racing. "You’re drinking too much, if you go on like this... you’ll get drunk".

Fiona looked at him clearly getting intoxicated "You’re no fun" She tried to get Nathan to drink but he didn’t. If they all got drunk, they might end up in a dumpster. Worrse the girls might get raped.

They drove back to the hotel in a luxurious car, the city lights twinkling outside. Ella was asleep, exhausted from the night’s events. Fiona leaned into Nathan, feeling safe and happy. "Thank you," she whispered. Nathan looked at her, his eyes warm. "For what?" "For this. For everything." Nathan smiled and pulled her closer. "You’re welcome, baby." As they arrived at the hotel, Fiona knew this trip was going to be unforgettable.

The next morning, they woke up to the sound of laughter and the smell of breakfast. Nathan was already up, dressed in casual clothes, looking like he owned the place. "Good morning, ladies," he said, smiling. "Sleep well?" Ella groaned, rubbing her eyes. "I slept like a baby." Fiona smiled, feeling grateful for this life, even if it wasn’t hers permanently. They had breakfast on the balcony, overlooking the city. The view was breathtaking. Fiona felt like she was on top of the world.

After breakfast, Nathan had plans for them. "Today, we’ll visit some friends," he said. "And tonight, we’ll have dinner at my favorite restaurant." Ella’s eyes widened. "Sounds like a plan!" Fiona smiled, knowing she’d follow Nathan anywhere. As they left the hotel, Fiona realized she was falling deeper in love with Nathan, and she wasn’t sure how to stop it. But for now, she’d just enjoy the ride.

They spent the day exploring LA, visiting famous landmarks and enjoying each other’s company. The night ended with a bang, at a luxurious restaurant, with celebrities and billionaires. Fiona felt like she was in a movie, living someone else’s life. As they drove back to the hotel, Fiona leaned into Nathan. "This is the best trip ever," she whispered. Nathan smiled, . "I’m glad you’re enjoying it, cupcake." And with that, Fiona knew she’d never forget this trip to LA.

As they reached the hotel, Nathan pulled her close. "I have one more surprise," he whispered. Fiona’s heart skipped a beat. "What is it?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Nathan smiled, his eyes sparkling. "You’ll see." And with that, he led her to a private elevator, and they went up to the rooftop. The view was breathtaking, the city lights stretching out as far as the eye could see. Fiona gasped, her heart racing. Nathan pulled her into his arms, his lips finding hers. And in that moment, Fiona knew she was in love.
