"The boss is waiting for you." said the guide, pulling the butler's attention from the wall.

Soon, another figure emerged in the butler's sight. He looked old—older than the butler.

The man's face was weathered, like a person who was tired of life. His grey hair was unkempt and fluttered by the biting wind.

Despite appearing like an old man at the end of life, his eyes fill with vitality and flaming with fire. His piercing gaze seemed to cut through the icy mist and stare at the butler's soul.

At that moment, the man spoke, "You're late. I'm tired of waiting."

His voice carried an imposing aura that made the butler's hair stand on end.

The guide shot a brief glance at the butler before replying, "Don't blame me. This butler slows things down."

The man's gaze shifted to the butler, and in that moment, the air grew heavy with tension. A chill ran down the butler's spine.

"Are you Demin's butler? The one that sent tons of gold to us?" the man asked.

The butler swallowed hard. His throat suddenly dry. "Y-yes."

He managed to stammer out albeit his voice barely audible over the whistling of the wind.

The man's eyes narrowed slightly as he scrutinized the butler, "I believe he requested our service?"

Again, the butler nodded, "Y-yes."

For a moment, the man said nothing. Then, with a curt nod, the man said,

"I see. Since this is the first time we get in touch with you, I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Rori Ghost. I'm the founder of Outcasts and its current leader. You may already know about this. I don't think you could contact us without doing an extensive investigation beforehand."

The butler obediently nods his head at every sentence.

A man of Rori's calibre surely can't escape from appearing in the spotlight regardless of how much he wants to avoid it.

He is the first defective product that escapes Blackout's death sentence. Usually, people tend to go into hiding once they escape a life-and-death situation. But Rori is different.

Not only did Rori escape, but he even returned to the place where he was supposed to be executed and saved many other defectives.

Under Rori's command, these few defective products found the Outcasts. A new underworld organization that was seen as a mere ant by the Blackout grew into a dog capable of biting back its hand.

Although it took Outcasts a good few decades to reach the position they are now, it was still an impressive achievement considering the organization didn't have any support like the Blackout had.

They are torn on the Blackout's side but slippery enough to escape Blackout's witch hunt.

After a self-introduction, Rory turned away and asked the butler to follow him. "Let's go inside. It's warmer than here."

The butler gladly accepted Master Rori's invitation and happily followed Rori from behind. He had been in the cold for a while now and trying his best not to shiver uncontrollably.

After having a few conversations, the butler is no longer as tense as he was a few moments ago. Despite Rori's look, the boss of the Outcasts is not as cold as he initially thought.

Rori can be quite talkative but it doesn't mean that he could be taken advantage of.

He constantly reminded himself of who Master Rori was.

The man who goes against the Blackout can't be that simple.

As promised by Master Rori, the hideout inside is much warmer. The butler felt an immediate temperature change. A wave of warmth washed over him and melted away the chill that had gripped him for so long.

Looking around, the butler marvelled at the cosy living spaces that the Outcasts enjoyed. It is safe to say that the huge portion of the mountain has been carved out to make a way for their living spaces and base operation.

It was clear that considerable effort had been put into transforming this place to fit human habitation.

As for how they did it, the butler doesn't know but this place is really comfortable.

It's no wonder the Outcasts could stay holed up in this mountain for months on end.

Amidst his wonderment, Master Rori's voice broke through the butler's daydream and pulled him back to the present time.

"So Demin's butler, regarding your request...You want our help to deal with a kid named Adam Klover. Did I get it right?"

The butler swallowed hard, "Y-Yes!"

"Tsk, tsk, tsk!" Master Rori simply clicked his tongue and shook his head.

Master Rori doesn't know the specific details but he is certain that this kid is innocent. As for how the kid irks someone like Demin, he couldn't care less. There are plenty of unlucky people in this world.

If anyone thinks about it, the Outcasts can also be considered to belong to this category.

"I-Is there any problem?" Looking at the sad face Master Rori made, the butler couldn't help but ask that question.

"No problem, Mr. Butler. It's an easy task for us. However, as easy as I say, I do hope you provide more information about this kid, his close associates and his relationship with others. As you know, the Outcasts spend most of their time in the mountains. Our information may be outdated."

"Adam Klover is a precious grandson of one of the influential figures in the Klover family, Johann' Klover. His grandfather wishes to put Adam on the duke's throne despite his uncertain legitimacy status as a Klover. As for Adam's relationship, he is not close to anyone except for two people; a scholar named Han Jester and the daughter of the current duke- Sarika Klover."

The butler continues, "We suspect that Duke Percival once made an assassination attempt on Adam which became a reason for Johann's hatred toward the duke. We don't know how Duke Percival perceives this event now but we are sure that Johann held a very antagonistic view toward the duke."
