Return of the Mythic Bloodline-Chapter 327: Transcendent Realm
Before beginning, I removed all of my clothes and stored them in my inventory, since I already knew the fate that awaited them if I did not.
Now completely bare, I began chanting the insights I had comprehended to reach the Mid-Tier realm.
The air around me grew thick, and the rocks scattered across the ground began trembling. Slowly, turbulent black clouds gathered above, not as abyssal as the ones that materialized when I used my ultimate move, but still vast enough to engulf the sky and plunge it into darkness.
Lightning of four different colors flickered within the clouds as thunder rumbled overhead.
However, instead of the usual heavenly tribulation clouds that radiated fury, these clouds appeared almost as if they were dancing in joy above me.
"Oh, so you recognized me," I murmured, a faint smile curling on my lips.
Ding...
"The clouds of Heavenly Tribulation have been successfully summoned!
To successfully break through to the Mid-Tier Realm, the Host must survive four Heavenly Tribulations. Each strike will be several times deadlier than the previous one. The Host must stay conscious and immovable during the Heavenly Tribulation. Attempting to run away midway, or losing consciousness, will cause incalculable damage to the body, resulting in crippling injuries or, in the worst case, death."
With a bried sigh, I murmurred, closing my eyes, "Watch over me, heavens, as your child has returned once more to shake the very roots of this world."
Inside my inner world, massive waves rose within my vast sea, crashing violently against the gigantic, thick black wall of rock.
Above me, the clouds slowly twisted into a swirling, abyssal hollow cylinder. Deep within the vortex, bolts of multicolored lightning shimmered as they accumulated.
The sheer energy I sensed from them was identical to the final tribulation I had faced in my other body.
A deafening thunderclap echoed from the heavens, as if urging me to grit my teeth and prepare myself.
In the very next moment, all four lightning bolts descended at blinding speed.
KRAKABOOM!
The ground beneath me shattered instantly, sending dust and debris flying in every direction. A massive crater formed at the spot where I had been sitting, with spiderweb-like cracks spreading outward.
Even though I possessed the lightning attribute and was resistant to lightning-based attacks, my entire body was shaken to its core. Blood trickled from the corner of my lips, and I could already feel minor fractures forming in some of my bones.
The tribulation did not stop at assaulting my physical body. It surged into my inner world and, while synchronizing with the raging tsunami of my Soulforce, struck the gigantic black rock wall. Portions of it shattered and fell into the sea below.
At the bottom of the sea, the infant Tree of Divinity was violently shaken by the impact. In an instant, I formed several hand signs, my eyes still closed, and erected a small yet dense barrier around the Tree of Divinity.
This tribulation far surpassed, by twice or even three times, the final tribulation I had endured when ascending to the Awakened Sage Realm in my other body. Not to mention, there were three more strikes yet to come, each one destined to be even more intense than the last.
"Aren’t you being a bit too much?" I muttered through clenched teeth, feeling lightning coursing all over my body.
Well, I had already predicted that the tribulations would be this intense.
Cultivators born with special body constitutions, exceptional talent, divinity, or those favored by the heavens were destined to face far harsher Heavenly Tribulations compared to ordinary cultivators.
The Heavenly Tribulation, although cruel, was a blessing bestowed by the heavens. It not only strengthened a cultivator’s physical constitution but also shattered the barrier required to ascend to the next realm, of course, only if the cultivator managed to endure it.
Then what would happen to someone who possessed both divinity and the favor of the heavens?
The scale of the tribulation would obviously be off the charts.
Not to mention, my physical body was already as strong as a peak-stage Awakened Sage, which further amplified the intensity of the tribulations.
The more a cultivator tempered their body, the more violent the tribulations they faced during breakthroughs. That was why most cultivators avoided body cultivation altogether, choosing easier paths to realm ascension.
With the next two tribulations, most of my bones were shattered, the hair on my body completely burned away, and even my skin was blackened and scorched.
The crater had expanded all the way to the barrier, creating a deep pit at the center where I sat, barely conscious.
If not for the Pain Tolerance skill, I would have already fainted by now.
"O-only... o-one more," I murmured, clenching my teeth as the hollow cylinder of black clouds above me began expanding, reaching the very edge of the barrier within which I was seated.
The multicolored lightning gathered at the center of the cylinder, all four streams intertwining and merging into a single golden bolt that flickered with violent, unrestrained power.
With a blinding, thunderous boom that illuminated the entire land, a massive pillar of lightning descended upon me.
KRAKABOOM!!!!!
My eyes rolled back as every bone in my body shattered. A torrential cascade of blood erupted, not only from my mouth but from my entire body as numerous deep wounds were seared open.
The impact was so catastrophic that the entire area enclosed by Ume’s barrier was reduced to nothing but a massive crater, as if an asteroid had slammed into the land. Even the barrier itself was not left unscathed, with several cracks already spreading across its surface.
"Endure just a little more!" I screamed inwardly, drawing upon every shred of willpower I could muster. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
The lightning pillar pierced into my inner world, striking the last remnants of the gigantic wall and shattering it completely.
The Sea of Soulforce, once restrained by the rocky barrier, surged outward and expanded in every direction.
My limp body rose from the depths of the crater, ascending into the sky where the tribulation clouds had formed.
The wounds across my body healed, my bones regenerated, and the hair on my head grew back as a perfectly sculpted, lean yet muscular body emerged.
My golden eyes glowed like twin stars in the heavens, and I felt my strength drawing one step closer to what it had been in my past.
Ding...
"Congratulations! The host has successfully broken through. The host’s realm has increased.
Late-Stage Essence Realm → Level One Transcendent Realm.
All stats increased by 400.
All attribute-based skills have increased by two levels."
