Reverse Transmigration: From F-rank to SSS-rank-Chapter 15: Clone technique
Chapter 15
"You got some nerve, since you wanna get sliced up so badly, be my guest." The one with the twin blades said, and right before my eyes, he sank straight into the ground, his whole body melting into the dirt until he was gone. So that was his ability, a dangerous one.
At the same time, sparks of lightning crackled louder around the other one’s hands. The hammer guy stepped forward, lifting his weapon with both arms, his grin saying he was already sure of the outcome.
"Lilian," I muttered.
Her voice answered immediately in my head. Left side. The guy who disappeared underground is coming out from your left in three... two...
The ground beside me bursted open right on three. A blade shot out, aiming for my ribs.
I moved fast before his blades even came close. My body flickered as I used shadow step to move, carrying me backward, this technique usually left after images that confused my opponents. Not at full potential yet but still good enough to fight these guys.
The attack sliced straight through my afterimage, leaving the twin blades user stabbing at nothing.
His eyes widened. "What...?"
I lunged at him before he could recover. My knee drove into his chest, the impact making him cough spit and blood. He dropped back down into the earth before I could follow up, vanishing under the ground like a rat.
The technique was kinda annoying. Unless someone could somehow read his mind or track his movements, one could never tell where his next attack was coming from. Good thing I had Lilian.
"Lucian, above!" Lilian shouted in my head.
I glanced up just in time to see a bolt of lightning tear through the air. I raised my hand, my barrier materializing to block the attack just in time. The lightening energy slammed against it with a deafening crack. Sparks exploded across the shield and my arms shook from the impact.
That was one strong attack that would have been impossible to deflect if I didn’t have my barrier. It would have been too late to dodge since it was coming right above my head. These guys were good fighters, they knew exactly how to attack and finish up their opponents without having to play around.
The second I dropped the barrier, the hammer guy came barreling in, swinging his hammer for my skull.
I Shadow Stepped to the side, the hammer slamming into a tree so hard it snapped in half. Wood splinters blasted across the forest floor.
I tried to counter, throwing a fist toward his exposed ribs, but the ground rumbled. The twin blades user shot up from below again, both swords slicing straight for me.
I twisted mid-motion, my body blurring into another Shadow Step. He cut through one afterimage, then another, realizing too late neither was me.
I reappeared at his flank and drove my elbow into his jaw. His head snapped sideways, and he crashed to the dirt with a grunt.
"Lightning—!" Lilian’s warning hit my mind a split second before I felt the air shift.
I dove sideways. A bolt exploded where I’d been standing, scorching the earth black.
The three of them regrouped quickly, standing shoulder-to-shoulder this time, circling me tighter like wolves that had just realized their prey had teeth.
The lightning user smirked, electricity crawling up his arms. "You’re fast. But speed won’t save you forever."
The hammer guy slammed his weapon into the ground, sending a shockwave through the dirt. "You’ll wear out. Then we’ll crush you." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
The twin blades user wiped blood from his mouth and spat. "He’s just one guy. Stop playing around. We hit together and he stands no chance."
They weren’t wrong. On their own, I could pick them apart. But together? It wasn’t going to be easy, and with my current level of power, even with Lilian’s help, I wouldn’t come out of this unscathed. I might have to use that move. It was a draining technique where I could create more clones of myself.
Previously, with my power at full potential, I could create over a thousand and maintain them for hours in a battle. That technique earned me the name Crimson monarch, I was a monarch of an army of myself, and never had i fought a battle where I didn’t paint the earth in red with the blood of my enemies.
The good thing with this technique was that, no matter what damage my clones go through, as long as my main body was still safe and intact, my clones could recover from any damage. All my opponent had to do was find my real body, and finding the real me didn’t mean they could defeat the real me.
One thing with using my clone was that each clones were just as strong as the real me, and they didn’t bleed or feel pain.
I was a one man army. It took me fifteen years to cultivate that ability and perfect it to that level that made me indestructible. I only used my clone technique when necessary because it was draining, and I was more at a disadvantage now that I had only six percent of my powers.
"Don’t." Lilian’s voice spoke in my head, cutting through my thoughts. I raised a brow and turned to look at her.
"You read my mind?" I asked, still speaking in my mind just to make sure if that’s what she had actually done.
"I’m sorry I did. But don’t use your signature ability just yet, we still have a chance to defeat them if we work together." Lilian said, looking deep into my eyes as her voice spoke in my head. I could see how she clutched tightly to her blade, her left nostril dripping small bits of blood.
The telepathic ability was taking a toll on her because she was using it too frequently. Every ability has it’s down side after all. But she was right, I couldn’t reveal my signature ability just yet, but honestly it didn’t matter, I planned on killing these guys anyway. All I needed was two minutes of uninterrupted combat with them, and I could end it.
