Rise of The Demon General-Chapter 217. Targets for Attacking the Lair

"NO...! SISTER...!!!" Yan Dose finally reacted.

He immediately charged toward the masked intruder. His sword appeared in his hand. There were five gems adorning its hilt. "Stop! You will pay for what you did!!"

The masked intruder was, of course, Amon. When he broke into this room, he expected to see only Yan Ning and her maids. Yan Dose’s presence was unexpected. If he went all out, he should be able to take out Yan Dose, but it wasn’t worth the risk.

The explosion took the air out of Yan Dose. He was disoriented while lying on the floor for a good while. If he hadn’t used his defensive art when the blast hit him, he would have been heavily wounded.

After he could think again, the first thing he saw was his half-sister looking back at him. The explosion also threw Yan Ning’s body and head to the wall close to him. The sight shocked him, and he wailed like an animal. His wail could be heard from the ground below.

Amon didn’t stay after he landed. He immediately dashed away as the ruins from the explosion fell from above him. The first floor of the building was also burning. It was the deed of his people.

Amon ignored the wail that came from above. He ignored the people who had now started to gather due to the explosion and fire. He rushed into a dark alley and disappeared into the darkness.

The six members of the Demon Gang gathered again inside Amon’s vacant house. As usual, they took off their clothes and gave them to Amon.

"Sa Won...," Amon called.

"Yes, boss?" Sa Won came to Amon.

Without a warning, Amon shoved a fist into Sa Won’s stomach. The boy bent over from the unexpected punch. The punch made him vomit the contents of his stomach. He was down on the floor, unable to get up.

"Bo–Boss...?" The others were surprised by Amon’s action.

Sa Won looked up, confused about the treatment.

"You don’t realize what you have done wrong, do you?" Amon asked. "Let me ask you then. You are supposed to monitor the entrance to the Street Aristocrats’ base until we move in, correct?"

Sa Won nodded with an expression that was part confused and part painful. The pain made it difficult for him to talk.

"Why didn’t you report that Yan Dose entered the building?" Amon asked.

"Yan Dose is there?" Xin Wuming asked in surprise.

"He is. He is even up there with Yan Ning," Amon answered. He turned back to Sa Won. "Even if you don’t recognize Yan Dose, you should know he is not a member of Street Aristocrats from his attire. Such an anomaly should be reported before we commence the mission. If the one who came happened to be a cultivator of the Martial Realm, I would not have come out of there alive. Do you know now your mistake?"

Sa Won nodded with a painful expression.

Amon turned to the others. "This goes for you all, as well. Never underestimate any detail. Even the smallest seemingly unimportant detail could be the difference between success and failure."

"We understand, boss!" The others nodded.

Amon threw a recovery pill at Sa Won.

"Tha... Thank you, boss...," Sa Won could finally speak.

Amon paid him no heed. He was checking Yan Ning’s space ring. There were plenty of aer stones inside. He took one-tenth of the aer stones and distributed them among the people there except for Sa Won. He didn’t need to explain his actions. Sa Won also didn’t dare to complain.

After that, he sent everyone away except for Xin Wuming. He then took out another item from inside Yan Ning’s space ring. It was a book.

Amon had two targets for attacking the base of Street Aristocrats.

The first was Yan Ning. As Yan Ning mentioned to Yan Dose, she was the one who performed most managerial tasks within the organization. Amon memorized all the information in the book before giving it to Xin Wuming.

With this information, they didn’t need to waste time looking for information about which corrupt officials they could approach. Adding to the dirty secrets recorded in the book, they could even pressure these officials to give them lenience.

Amon instructed Xin Wuming about who to approach first and what to do. He gave the remaining aer stones inside Yan Ning’s space ring to Xin Wuming as introductory gifts for those officials. After leaving his instructions, the two parted ways, with Amon returning to the academy.
