Rise of The Demon General-Chapter 493. The Kingdom Vs Rebels
Chapter 493: Chapter 493. The Kingdom Vs Rebels
Lao Zen might have given the courtesy of announcing his intention when he entered, but the others he brought didn’t bother, especially the battle puppets. They just dropped to the floor below and started attacking. The kingdom soldiers followed and supported them.
The torturers near Amon were at first confused by the ambush. One of them snapped to attention and decided by himself the need to eliminate Amon before he was rescued by the kingdom soldiers.
"For the rebels...!!" He yelled while charging toward Amon with a knife.
Amon was prepared. Throughout the tortures today, he received internal wounds, which would have caused him to vomit blood, but he kept the blood in his closed mouth. When the torturer came to him, he spat this blood. The blood struck the torturer’s face and burned it.
The torturer screamed in pain as he held his face. This dissuaded the other torturers from approaching.
A loud shriek was heard. Something huge crashed on the torturers, who were still confused about what to do. This something was the Great Peng Eagle. It beat its wings and summoned turbulence that kept the rebels from approaching the stage.
"Look at you. What have they done to you?" Ha Gild landed beside Amon. He used his weapon, a steel hammer, to break the engraved chains binding Amon.
Amon fell into Ha Gild’s embrace. His legs were too weak to support him walking.
A battle puppet came to Amon’s side. Amon climbed the battle puppet’s back using his left arm. He said to Ha Gild, "Go and slay the rebels. The ones here are the rebels’ top echelons. We can’t let any of them escape."
"Are you sure you are okay?" Ha Gild asked. He had never seen Amon in such a condition. Someone might sneak up on Amon and kill him in this chaos.
"I will be fine. Go!" Amon urged.
Ha Gild nodded. He rode the Great Peng Eagle and charged toward the upper platform, where Lao Zen, An Guan, and other kingdom soldiers with high cultivation were fighting the rebel leaders.
Amon looked around. No one was paying attention to him in this chaos, so he commanded the battle puppet to give him something entrusted to it. The battle puppet moved its closed fist to Amon’s left side. It opened its fist, and on its palm was the black space ring.
Amon wore the black space ring and accessed its content. He had no time or in the condition to put on the Jue Body Suit, but he could use the Xian Cloth and the Ceremonial Dagger. He also took out four newly made Alpha Flying Knives. With these weapons, he could defend himself even when he could not move.
He called, and several battle puppets came to him. They formed a barricade around him. Although other team leaders in his army were given access to order these battle puppets, he had priority control. His command overrode others’ commands.
The most intense battle happened on the upper platform. Those were where the rebels with the highest cultivation levels were concentrated. The ambush took them by surprise. The kingdom force took the initiative and landed the first strikes. The rebels suffered casualties. Many were wounded, but they immediately counterattacked.
The three rebel elders led the charge to break away from the enclosure. Their charge destroyed many battle puppets and killed many soldiers.
Luan Xuan threw his red chakram, which ignited with flame in mid-flight. This chakram sliced apart many who were in its way. He held a second chakram, which served as both a shield and a blade. He blocked attacks using that chakram and cut anyone who dared to come near him. The first burning chakram flew back to him after going a certain distance.
Ni Lulu’s pink ribbon slapped and entangled anyone who came close. Even when someone managed to sneak an attack past the flexible ribbon, they couldn’t harm her because she was protected by Wooden Skin art.
Ni Zheng followed her closely. He was protected by Rock Suit. One of his arms was bigger than the other. This enlarged arm performed Crushing Palm on those who stood in their way.
"You can’t stop us!" Ni Lulu yelled while charging forward. Her body enlarged as she advanced. She was using the same transformation art as Ni Zheng, Gigas Blood. While Ni Zheng’s mastery over the art was at the skilled level, hers was at the master level. Ni Zheng could only gigantify one part of his body. She could turn her entire body into a giant.
With her gigantic form protected by wooden skin, she used brute force to break out of the encirclement. The kingdom soldiers didn’t expect a woman who used a feminine weapon like the pink ribbon to possess such brute power. They were unprepared for her charge. Many were crushed to death.
One soldier wasn’t afraid to face her directly. He charged in with a glaive encased in gold. The golden glaive clashed with Ni Lulu’s gigantic arm. The gold encasing the glaive shattered upon impact, but the collision was enough to halt her charge.
"Kingdom dog! How dare you touch me!" Ni Lulu exclaimed in anger.
"Let’s see how this dog bites you then, you rebel bitch!" An Guan returned. The blade of his glaive turned gigantic. It then moved at lightspeed, creating many afterimages that left trails in the air.
With how large a target Ni Lulu had become, she couldn’t dodge these rapid attacks. She didn’t need to, though. Her pink ribbon swirled around her, blocking the glaive attacks. Both had the same cultivation level, the Intermediate Spirit Stage. Neither showed an advantage over the other.
Behind them, Ni Zheng was assaulted by Yong Ling. Her blazing spear assailed Ni Zheng fiercely. Ni Zheng’s rock suit protected him from getting burned directly, but the heat still caused him extreme discomfort.
While everyone was in heated combat, two individuals made no move. They floated in the air, facing one another. These two were the opposing force’s top combatants. One was the leader of the rebels, Pan Lohuan. The other was the ex-head tutor of the Royal Academy, Lao Zen.
Pan Lohuan gazed at the chaos around him with a creased brow. He asked Lao Zen, "How did you find this place?"
"Do you need to ask?" Lao Zen asked back.
Pan Lohuan’s brow creased even further. He turned to Amon, who was piggybacking a battle puppet on the stage, and uttered, "Him? Impossible! We have checked him for tracking enchantment. You cannot have found this place by tracking him!"
"I don’t know myself, but the fact is he sent us the coordinates of this place via a message talisman."
"That is even more preposterous!" Pan Lohuan exclaimed. "He has been rid of any belongings since he was brought here. There is no way he can use a message talisman to send you a message."
"What can I say? That is a fact. I plan to ask him for an explanation once this is over. Sadly, you won’t be around by then."
"Hmph! Don’t count your chickens before they hatch. Countless kingdom agents had tried to assassinate me in the past. None of them had succeeded. You won’t be any different."
"It is different now. This place is fully surrounded. You won’t escape. Now, accept your fate!" Lao Zen ended his speech with a palm strike. The strike conjured a wave of water that rushed toward Pan Lohuan.
Pan Lohuan revealed a book. The book broke apart and turned into a long whip. He had a similar weapon as his nephew, Pan Xisheng. The book-whip glowed with strong light as it sliced through the water wave. The water wave was split in two and dispersed. The glowing book-whip continued towards Lao Zen.
Lao Zen revealed his weapon, a stick with a long mane at one end. It resembled a large calligraphy pen. He swiped this calligraphy stick. Each stroke created a water trail. The impact between the calligraphy stick and the glowing book-whip resulted in a large splash. The force of the splashing water threw the book-whip away.
Lao Zen didn’t stop after repelling the book-whip. His stick continued swinging in the air as if he was writing something. The water trails following his stick’s movements created a series of letters. He waved his stick another time, and these letters split into multiple water snakes that rushed forward.
Lao Zen’s arcane art was called the Way of Water. Its effect was like the combination of Qiang Dan’s River Path and Water Globe. He could manipulate the water trails produced by his movements. The higher his mastery, the more freedom he could do with the produced water. This arcane art was classified as low-tier profound art.
Pan Lohuan’s book whip swirled around him, protecting him from the water snakes targeting him. The water snakes were destroyed after getting sliced by the book-whip, but it was unending. Lao Zen continued to write letters in the air with his calligraphy stick. These letters also turned into water snakes that assailed Pan Lohuan. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
"Trivial trick!" Pan Lohuan exclaimed. His book-whip swirled even faster. The light from his rotating weapon formed into a ball. This ball of light advanced. The water snakes were unable to pierce the light ball. They exploded into harmless water upon contact.
