Chapter 712: Chapter 712. The Pivotal Stab

Xei Nuli was slightly shaken by Mu Qin’s attack. Being a Lord Stage cultivator, she rarely found a worthy opponent. Yet, one contact with Mu Qin, and she knew she would lose her life if she weren’t careful. She had never faced such a powerful force before. The wind explosion Mu Qin produced not only tore the invisible talisman on her forehead, but it also nicked her. A trail of blood dripped down her forehead.

Nevertheless, she didn’t give in to her fear. She did this for her son. Amon had given her one Longevity Pill. He promised that if she carried out his instructions in this battle, he would give her nine more pills as a reward.

She forced herself to advance. It was too late to back off now. She pushed her palms forward. Multiple wooden snakes burst out of the air before her palms.

Mu Qin’s half-braid unraveled to block these wooden snakes, but the snakes were fast. Half managed to slip past her hair and coiled around her body. She realized she had been careless. She didn’t expect there was a fifth Lord Stage opponent. She was late in blocking Xei Nuli, allowing her to get so close.

She discharged an energy blast from her body, attempting to destroy the wooden snakes that were coiling around her. The wooden snakes proved to be more resilient than she had expected. The snakes chipped off a large portion of their outer layers, and cracks were all over their bodies. Yet, they continued to cling to her.

While the wooden snakes slowed her down, Amon’s ceremonial dagger aimed for her head. A few strands of her hair caught the dagger and bound it. While the dagger was stopped, the yellow cloth tying the dagger’s hilt was not. It moved like a living snake and wrapped itself around her. The Xian Cloth was a high-tier runic weapon. Even a Peak Lord Stage couldn’t break it easily.

Mu Qin was furious. How dare the enemies bind her like this? Her hair wrapped around the wooden snakes. She wanted to rip them apart by force. But before she even did that, Xei Nuli generated more wooden snakes to bind her.

Mu Qin tried to pull half of her other hair, which was stuck in Huang Ti’s body. Huang Ti wasn’t trying to trouble her by not freeing her hair. Currently, he was more eager for Amon’s life than hers, but that would have to wait. He must fight for his life for now. He held her hair because if she pulled out, it would rip out a major chunk of his flesh. He had formed an earth mound to lock her hair while trying to use his longsword to cut her hair. Zhu Yao was next to him, attempting the same thing.

Their effort was futile, though. Mu Qin’s hair was too tough.

"Go!" Amon commanded.

While Mu Qin was bound, he charged at her with Xan Chi and the Beta Puppet. He performed Infinite Phantom Slash to keep half of her hair occupied. As for the Beta Puppet and Xan Chi, they stormed forward while Amon’s slashes opened the way for them. The two grabbed Mu Qin and added to the pressure she had to fight to free herself.

Amon couldn’t stop all of Mu Qin’s hair. Some slashed and stabbed at Xan Chi and the Beta Puppet. The puppet didn’t feel any pain. It didn’t care even if it suffered great damage. As for Xan Chi, he became stronger the more he was wounded. They both focused on holding Mu Qin down.

"Lowly vermin, get your hands off me...!!" Mu Qin exclaimed.

Another powerful shockwave accompanied by violent winds erupted from her. Most of the wooden snakes shattered from the force. The rest was ripped by her hair. The Xian Cloth became loose. Xan Chi finally couldn’t hold on any longer. He was knocked back while vomiting a mouthful of blood. The Beta Puppet lost many layers of its outer plating and lost its grip on Mu Qin.

Huang Ti had it the worst. Mu Qin’s forceful attempt to free herself also injected a surge of power into her hair. Her hair, trapped inside Huang Ti, was pulled in all directions. With a terrible ripping sound, Huang Ti’s body was as if exploded. He died without an intact body.

"Nooo...!!!" Huang San, who was charging over when he witnessed Huang Ti getting impaled by Mu Qin’s hair, wailed at the sight. He failed to arrive before his father died.

While Mu Qin successfully pushed everyone away, they had restrained her long enough. Right after she unleashed the powerful shockwave, she felt a strong punch at the back of her waist. A stinging pain followed this punch. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Dim Loog, who had been waiting on the side, charged over once he saw Xei Nuli materialize and attack Mu Qin. He gripped his white spear strongly, pumping aether into it. He and the weapon turned into a giant javelin of light.

His speed let him arrive in a short time, but even that was almost too late. He arrived just as Mu Qin fended off everyone. Thankfully, he didn’t let everyone’s effort be in vain. The tip of his spear, powered by the concentration of his light elements, pierced into Mu Qin’s back.

Mu Qin cried from the pain. This time, the wound was deep. Dim Loog continued to push, aiming to drive his spear even deeper, but Mu Qin’s protective aura pushed back like a strong repelling magnet. She also had one hand clutching the shaft of Dim Loog’s spear.

Dim Loog didn’t push randomly. From the resistance he felt, he knew he couldn’t drive his spear any deeper. He adjusted his pushing force and goaded her downward. Down there, Zhang Daofeng and Hou Huang were charging up. Their weapons thrust upward, ready to impale Mu Qin.

Both the pain from Dim Loog’s stab and the menace from the other two Lord Stage cultivators forced Mu Qin to draw her inner strength. Her hair swung before her, crashing into Zhang Daofeng and Hou Huang’s weapons. The impact resulted in a spectacular explosion.

The detonation threw everyone away. Dim Loog suffered the most from the explosion. Blood gushed from his mouth and nose. He felt his internal organs were turned upside down. His white spear, a low-tier runic weapon, snapped in two.

Zhang Daofeng and Hou Huang were thrown far away. They also suffered internal wounds from the recoil, but not as severe as Dim Loog’s.

Mu Qin herself was not unscathed. When the explosion subsided, everyone could see that she was a mess. Blood continued to spurt from the wound Dim Loog’s spear had caused. Her hair color returned to black. It pointed straight toward the ground, unlike before, where it waved around as if the winds were blowing it. It seemed to have lost its strength.

Mu Qin coughed a few times. She vomited blood on her fourth cough. Her breath was heavy. Her eyes were rabid, like a cornered animal.

"Hahaha!" Zhang Daofeng uttered a gleeful laugh. "I never thought there would be a day I would see the great Holy Mother in this condition. It is truly a sight like no other."

Mu Qin took a deep breath. She then spoke vehemently, "You double-crossing vermin. You defile our temple and teaching. There will be a divine retribution for you. You mark my words!"

"Probably, but not today. Today, we end your influence on this world! You will not dictate our future. We will stop the calamity by ending you! Everyone, victory is in sight. Attacckkk...!!!"

The surviving Martial Realm cultivators uttered a battle cry and advanced. Mu Qin lifted her arm. She was about to attack the incoming enemies, but a bolt of blue lightning struck her back.

"Ugh...!" Mu Qin touched her burned back. Her defensive aura had greatly weakened. She turned to the one who had hit her.

The one who attacked was Huang San. Tears flowed from his eyes as he yelled, "You will pay for my father’s death, demon witch!"

The lightning scepter in his hand shone and unleashed another blue lightning. The lightning was extremely fast. Even so, it should not have hit Mu Qin if she had not been too distracted. Now that she was aware, she could defend. She waved her hand, and the lightning was as if hitting an invisible wall. It dispersed without touching her.

"Give it up! You can’t win this," Zhang Daofeng said. He had arrived. His fire and water chakrams flew around Mu Qin, surrounding her. Behind him were many Martial Realm cultivators.

"Over my dead body, you ungrateful boy!" Mu Qin yelled defiantly.

The battle continued, but the victors became more apparent with each passing minute. Not only was Mu Qin heavily wounded. Sura Yao’s vampiric ability still afflicted her. She became weaker the longer she remained. Yet, even if she wished to flee, she could not. She was surrounded. There were too many enemies.

Finally, she received another fatal hit to her head. The strike sent her crashing into the ground. She didn’t get up.

"This is the end," Dim Loog said. He pulled the string of his white bow, and an arrow of light was formed. He was about to release the arrow and deliver the killing blow when something slammed hard into him from the side.

He heard several of his bones breaking as he was flung far away. Gu Wen led several soldiers after him to ensure his life was not in danger.

Everyone was shocked by this turn of events. They turned and looked at the perpetrator. It was Zhang Daofeng.

"No one move," the Hierophant ordered. "The Holy Mother is mine."
