But what truly shocked and enraged the two women was not merely his presence but the thing that he was doing at the moment.
One of the demon’s hands rested upon Ethan’s arm, or rather, emerging from his voluminous black sleeve, a stream of writhing black tentacles that extended outward.
Their slick, unnatural forms pulsed faintly as they connected to Ethan’s body.
And what pushed their fury beyond restraint was the horrifying sight that two of those dark tentacles had already bored themselves deep into Ethan’s head, while five others pierced various parts of his body, binding him in a grotesque and unmistakable violation.
A disgusting sloshing sound echoed through the chamber as the dark tentacles continued to move restlessly.
It constantly writhed and shifted as if they were actively searching for something within Ethan’s body.
The sound alone was enough to make one’s skin crawl.
And strangely, even though a total of seven slimy, black tentacles had pierced straight through him, not a single drop of blood flowed out.
There were no wounds, and the dark tentacles seemed to have phased inside his body, though it looked as if his body had been violated on a level far deeper than flesh, as his soul fluctuations had grown extremely faint and become barely perceptible, and they flickered weakly as if they might vanish at any moment.
What shocked Altheria and Isha even more was the state of Ethan himself.
He appeared to be teetering precariously at the very edge between life and death and struggling silently in a way that sent a chill through both of them.
Black veins had spread across his body like a twisted web and crawled beneath his skin in every direction.
It looked as though some lethal dark poison had invaded his entire being and had corrupted him from the inside out.
His skin, which had been pale once, had taken on a deep purplish hue, looking as if it had been drained of warmth and vitality, making him appear almost corpse-like as he leaned limply against the cold black wall.
"You dare...!!! You dare to do this to my boy...you filthy old dog!!!"
Altheria finally erupted, and her young voice burst forth with raw fury.
It rang out across the forest beyond the prison and shook the mountains themselves as though the land had responded to her rage.
In an instant, a bloody radiance flooded the Sanctum Realm and painted everything in violent shades of crimson and red, leaving countless beings frozen in shock.
Crimson clouds gathered rapidly and blanketed the previously lush and sunlit Sanctum realm as a hellish scene descended once more.
But this time, its scale and power were astronomically greater than before.
It had spread everywhere, and its presence was far more overwhelming and apocalyptic in nature.
The air grew heavy and suffocating, and the pressure alone made it hard to breathe.
Nerves everywhere went taut as a sense of primal fear and despair coiled tightly inside everyone who felt it.
And those who had witnessed the previous battle between the former enforcement elder and Lady Raven trembled the most.
Some of them felt an almost uncontrollable urge to cry as terror gripped their hearts, for it felt as though the very world itself carried the intent to doom them, as every time they thought their torment was over, it returned with an even more horrifying intensity.
And this time, that feeling was far more terrifying.
All of them heard the furious shout of the little duchess clearly as it echoed endlessly throughout the Sanctum realm, yet no matter how hard they tried, none of them could pinpoint where it had come from.
It was as if the voice had originated from everywhere at once, and from nowhere at all.
Meanwhile, inside the cave, Altheria’s red eyes burned fiercely and blazed with barely restrained fury as streams of glaring crimson light gathered into her outstretched little hand.
The energy did not form all at once.
Instead, sharp fragments of red radiance condensed gradually and started swirling and converging as if answering her will.
Strands of that violent red light also spilled outward and scattered through the chamber in unstable arcs.
Even those stray wisps of red aura were enough to tear through the cave walls and rip apart the stone of Eagle Peak outside.

Yet, despite losing the wall he had been leaning against, Ethan did not fall or even tremble.
A dark, translucent barrier enveloped him, along with the dark-robed figure who had erected it, holding him firmly in place as though gravity itself no longer applied to him.
Moments later, a colossal red lance, well over twenty metres long, condensed in midair beside the two women.
It radiated an immense and piercing power, and its very presence was oppressive to the extreme.
The crimson aura surrounding it shredded the air itself, producing a sharp, keening whistle that echoed endlessly.
Mountain rocks caught within its influence were pulverized into fine powder and scattered like dust before they could even hit the ground.
At the same time, a thick, bloody mist began to seep into the surroundings.
It clung heavily to the air, inducing nausea and dizziness, while the blood within one’s body seemed to surge uncontrollably, as though responding to some cruel command.
The pressure alone made it difficult to breathe, as even the regular patrollers and those rushing toward Eagle Peak Mountain after the sudden commotion, still kilometres away, were affected.
Many were forced to land abruptly, and they collapsed to the ground as they panted heavily, their hearts pounding violently in their chests.
Their faces flushed an unnatural red, and they felt as though the nerves in their bodies, their hearts, and even their brains were on the verge of bursting and threatening to kill them at any moment.
The fear that seized them was overwhelming as some of them hid behind many trees and rocks, while others burrowed desperately into the ground and started to tremble uncontrollably.
