Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)-Chapter 495: Bloody Crack and Time Stop (1)
Third Person’s POV
His robes were quickly stained dark and wet, his body trembling as pain overwhelmed him, and to his dismay, all of this happened within a single instant.
Then, in the very next second, a furious roar erupted from his mouth.
"Since you want him dead, then I don’t have any issue ending him...!"
As the words left him, the dense dark mana within his body rapidly contracted and compressed itself with violent intent.
Inside Ethan’s body, the Void-Breaching Dark Tentacles suddenly sharpened, and their ends morphed into lethal, cone-like points.
Just as they were about to phase fully into reality with the intent of piercing vital points and ending Ethan’s life, something weird happened.
Dajjal’s bloodshot dark eyes remained wide open, yet he felt an overwhelming sense of wrongness.
He realised that everything around him had slowed to an unnatural degree.
The omnipresent bloody rays froze in place and became suspended in the air like solid beams.
Even the smallest dust particles in the surroundings hung motionless, as if they were trapped within invisible glass.
And to his amazement, the dark mana within his own body behaved the same way and no matter how desperately he tried to command it, it refused to respond with its usual speed.
His movements became sluggish and heavy, as though he were trapped inside thick, unseen mud.
’W—Wh... what i—is happe—ening...?’
Even his thoughts slowed with each syllable dragging painfully behind the last.
Horror flooded his mind as a realisation struck him with terrifying clarity that time itself had been interfered with.
And as a result, the space around him, and even his own existence, had been affected.
But to affect a being as powerful as him, he knew that only a true expert who truly wielded the mysterious element of time could accomplish something like this, and such an expert had just made their move.
And just as this realisation formed in his sluggish thoughts, he sensed a faint disturbance beside him.
A white shadow moved silently through the frozen space and passed close enough for him to notice.
Through his slowed and distorted vision, he managed to catch a fleeting glimpse of that figure.
His dark pupils constricted sharply as recognition struck him with sudden clarity that it was none other than the mysterious woman concealed within that radiant veil of light, and the thing that made him frantic was the fact that she was moving at normal speed and was not affected by the temporal sluggishness as he had.
And the instant he saw a shining white hand emerge from her form and gently land upon Ethan’s head, something inside him snapped as he realised that his dream was about to be taken away from him.
Fury exploded violently within his chest, and it was far more intense than before.
He roared, but this time the sound carried everything he had left, his will, his strength, his accumulated power, and every ounce of malice he possessed.
It was not a simple outburst of rage.
Instead, it was a declaration born from desperation and defiance.
In that very instant, the area about one kilometre in radius around Eagle Peak, which had seemingly detached itself from reality, as though it had been sealed within another dimension, began to tremble violently.
The trembling intensified rapidly and rippled outward like a shockwave through existence itself.
Time abruptly returned to normal, but this return was far from gentle.
Hairline black cracks and thin fissures appeared in the air around the mountain and started spreading rapidly like shattered glass.
The space itself began to fracture under the immense dark pressure and monstrous waves of dark mana that erupted directly from the dark emperor’s heart.
Altheria’s expression darkened as she realised that the fabric of space was being pushed to its limits.
But before she could do anything, a massive, circular shockwave of darkness burst outward from Dajjal’s position and annihilated everything in its path.
Wherever it passed, the land was stripped of all vitality and instantly transformed into a dried, lifeless wasteland.
The shockwave continued to expand relentlessly and spread farther and farther until it covered nearly half of the entire Sanctum.
Small animals, powerful demon beasts, and even towering ancient trees withstood it for no more than an instant.
All of them withered and collapsed and were reduced to piles of blackened residue without any resistance, as if corroded into nothing by some unknown and terrifying force.
The ground itself cracked and decayed and started to exhale a faint, acrid stench as life was erased indiscriminately.
The dark ripple continued its expansion with the intent of turning the lush Sanctum realm into a dead realm until a sudden barrage of bloody lightning bolts erupted from the crimson sky.
They descended in a vast circular pattern and collided violently with the spreading wave of darkness.
Wherever they met, deafening explosions tore through the air and obliterated everything that had somehow survived the initial devastation.
Nothing was spared within the Sanctum Realm, nothing except the black castle, where a dark yellow barrier shimmered faintly and shielded it completely, rendering it immune to destruction.
Those who remained alive in the black castle were filled with absolute horror as to them, it felt as though the apocalypse itself had arrived.
At the same time, they realised that the earlier fight between the enforcement elder Solomon and Lady Raven had been nothing but child’s play compared to this.
In that moment, they understood with chilling clarity that the deacons, professors, patrollers, and students who had flown out only moments ago to investigate the source of the bloody calamity had already been reduced to nothing but dust.
But before anyone could even begin to process that realisation, an even louder roar shook the heavens.
From the very centre of the explosions, a colossal dark demon shadow began to rise.
Its form was indistinct yet overwhelming as it towered to nearly half a kilometre in height.
Its presence alone crushed the air, casting a suffocating pressure across the land as its silhouette loomed like a living nightmare.
