Chapter 525: Five Figures in the Snow

Third Person’s POV

Snow clung to their brows and lashes, thin layers of frost forming along their eyelashes and eyebrows.

Their lips had turned faintly blue from the biting cold, and every breath they exhaled formed small clouds of white mist that quickly vanished into the stormy air.

Despite the harsh environment, the group moved steadily across the frozen terrain.

Each of them shared a peculiar and striking feature, and it was their uniquely colored eyes.

Every one of them possessed the same starry blue eyes, whose color was unlike the normal icy blue eye shade.

Their irises seemed to hold a strange depth, and within those pale blue hues floated countless tiny white specks, resembling powdered snow or distant stars scattered across a winter sky.

The combined effect was mesmerizing, making their eyes look dreamy and distant, yet carrying a quiet nobility that clearly set them apart from the continent’s common inhabitants.

Even though they had ventured deep into one of the most dangerous and freezing regions of the Aurora Frost Mountains, none of them appeared particularly troubled by the brutal environment.

Their expressions remained calm, and their breathing was steady and controlled.

The quiet aura surrounding them suggested that they were completely accustomed to such harsh conditions.

Leading the group was a young maiden who appeared to be in her late teens.

She walked at the front with confident steps, her figure slender yet steady against the relentless mountain winds.

Her eyes carried the same starry blue hue as the others, and several loose strands of hair had slipped from beneath her hood, revealing locks that carried the same pale, shimmering shade as her irises.

Her features were delicate.

Her nose was sharp and refined, while her lips were naturally red, their color standing out vividly against the pale frost that dusted her face.

Her soft cheekbones gave her an appearance that could easily be mistaken for innocence, making her seem both youthful and charming at first glance.

Yet the calm depth within her eyes told a very different story.

After walking several steps ahead of the others, she suddenly slowed and turned her head slightly.

Her gaze shifted toward the only elderly man within their group of five.

"Uncle Caspian," she said respectfully, her voice calm as it drifted softly through the cold air.

"I think we have reached the ’Fang Mountain’, described in the map record."

Although her words carried a tone of courtesy, the subtle nobility in her posture and the faint arrogance hidden within her gestures made it clear that she did not truly view the old man as someone she genuinely looked up to.

However, her slightly aloof behaviour seemed completely normal to the rest of the group, including Uncle Caspian himself.

The old man did not pay the slightest attention to her etiquette or tone.

Instead, he calmly lowered his gaze toward the worn map he held in his hands.

The parchment was old and creased from years of use, its edges hardened by frost and travel.

Snowflakes gathered upon it as the cold mountain wind blew past, yet the old man held it steadily as he studied the faded markings drawn across its surface.

After glancing at it carefully, he gave a slow nod.

"Yes... It should be."

As he spoke those words, the young maiden extended her gloved hand toward him without hesitation.

Uncle Caspian immediately understood her intention and passed the map to her.

She accepted it smoothly and lifted the parchment closer to her face, her starry blue eyes narrowing slightly as she began comparing the landmarks drawn upon it with the towering mountain standing before them.

The snowstorm continued to howl around them while she examined the map with careful attention.

After several moments of quiet observation, she finally lowered the parchment and spoke again.

"Finally," she said softly, a faint hint of satisfaction appearing in her voice.

"We have truly reached the place Father suggested I come to."

Her gaze lifted toward the massive snow-covered peak standing before them.

"Now let us see what mystery he spoke of is there in this mountain," she continued calmly.

"The one he claimed would give me the opportunity I need."

The moment she finished speaking, the only young man among the group suddenly stepped forward with visible enthusiasm.

"My lady!"

His voice rang out loudly as he hurried forward through the snow and positioned himself beside her.

One of his hands rested firmly upon the handle of the sword hanging at his waist, gripping it with confident determination.

"I will clear away every obstacle that dares stand in your path," he declared proudly.

"No matter what dangers appear, I will make sure nothing interferes with your goal."

The young man was tall and broad-shouldered, with a straight, confident posture.

His features were sharp and handsome, and judging from his appearance, he seemed to be roughly the same age as the young noblewoman.

A closer look revealed that his facial features shared a faint resemblance with the elderly man beside them.

The connection between them was clear, and in reality, he was Uncle Caspian’s grandson.

The admiration in his eyes as he looked at the young noblewoman was impossible to hide.

His infatuation with her was so obvious that none of the other members of the group even bothered to pretend they did not notice it.

Uncle Caspian himself merely looked forward calmly, completely ignoring the behaviour of his overly eager grandson as he had long grown accustomed to such displays.

However, he secretly wished that his grandson’s hard work would bear some fruit one day, though he didn’t dare show even the slightest hint of that expectation, even a little on his face or in his eyes.

Behind the group walked a tall man clad in heavy armour.

Unlike the young man, he paid absolutely no attention to the dramatic declaration.

Instead, he continued walking silently behind the beautiful, young noblewoman, maintaining a protective distance while scanning the snowy surroundings with careful vigilance.
