Chapter 40 - Dawn of humanity.(Bonus Chapter)
Azvoid's breathing was shallow, his chest tightening from the sheer intensity of Zephiron's presence. That voice, that madness-laced hunger... It left a cold sweat dripping down his spine.
"Damn it." His fingers clenched, his knuckles turning white.
"You look like you've just been thrown into a dragon's mouth and spat back out." Noctis's voice rumbled, half-mocking, half-concerned.
"Funny you should say that," Azvoid replied, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "Because that's exactly what happened. Zephiron's shadow reached out to me. His bonds are weakening."
A deep, grumbling growl echoed in Azvoid's mind. "So, it's true. The fool's madness will soon seep into this world. And with his power..."
"He'll turn the world into a buffet," Azvoid finished, his tone strained but his eyes sharp.
Azvoid laughed, though it held no humor. "And here I was, thinking reaching C-Rank made me special."
"C-Rank?" Noctis snorted. "That's nothing more than a speck of dust in the face of what's coming. If you think that pathetic level of power will be enough, then you might as well crawl into a hole and wait for the end."
"Gee, thanks for the encouragement." Azvoid rubbed his temples. "What the hell do I do then?"
"We train. Harder than before. You will push yourself beyond your limits, again and again, until the mere concept of weakness is purged from your bones. This isn't about talent anymore, brat. It's about survival."
Azvoid's lips curled into a grin. "Sounds fun. Guess I'll be stuck with your nagging voice for a while longer."
"Hmph. You'll be begging for mercy before I'm done with you." Noctis growled, his tone filled with grim satisfaction.
"Bring it on." Azvoid's grin twisted into something fierce, his eyes flashing with resolve.
But just as he was about to walk away, a group of guild members rushed past him, chattering excitedly.
"Did you hear? The Global Cosmic Alliance's daughter is a freakin' monster!"
"Yeah, they say her talent's even stronger than SSS-Rank. The Alliance is practically worshipping her like she's the second coming."
Azvoid raised an eyebrow. "The Global Cosmic Alliance's daughter?"
One of the guys overheard him and nodded vigorously. "Dude, where have you been? It's all over the news. They're calling her the 'Dawn of Humanity.' Supposedly, her talent's so strong it can make entire countries tremble."

"Really?" Azvoid replied, feigning mild interest. "She sounds like a handful."
"Handful? She's a goddess in the making!" another guild member piped in, practically drooling. "I'd offer myself as her servant any day."
"Like she'd look at a loser like you," a girl scoffed. "Someone like her probably wouldn't even notice we exist."
Azvoid listened to the ramblings with a neutral expression, though his thoughts were anything but calm. A talent exceeding SSS-Rank? It sounded impossible. And yet...
"Hmph. Looks like someone's stealing your thunder, brat." Noctis chuckled. "The world's already found a new savior. Where does that leave you?"
"Good question." Azvoid's smirk didn't reach his eyes. "Guess I'll just have to show them who the real monster is."
"That's the spirit. But if you want to make your presence known, you'll need more than that pathetic little breakthrough. You need power. Real power."
Azvoid let out a sigh. "You're really not letting me have a moment's peace, huh?"
"Peace is for the dead. And if you want to avoid that fate, you'll listen carefully."
Azvoid's jaw tightened. "Alright. Lay it on me."
Noctis's voice lowered, his tone turning grave. "I can sense the remnants of Zephiron's power corrupting parts of the world. Foul creatures are appearing, and the weak are being consumed. Your Extraction ability..."
Azvoid's eyes narrowed. "What about it?"
"If you truly wish to grow stronger, it's time you started hunting something worthwhile. Weak talents will only stain your bloodline. But the power of corrupted beasts... If you can extract that, you may just find yourself with a power that rivals even the Alliance's little princess."
Azvoid's fingers twitched with excitement. Corrupted beasts, huh? The thought of extracting their power and adding it to his own made his blood boil with anticipation.
"You know, Noctis, you really know how to sweet-talk me."
"Don't flatter yourself. I simply refuse to let my summoner remain weak."
Azvoid chuckled, his expression darkening. "Fine. Let's go hunting.".....
