Rise of the Primordial Dragon beast tamer-Chapter 41: Decision.(Bonus Chapter)
Chapter 41 - Decision.(Bonus Chapter)
Azvoid's gaze remained fixed on the spot where the shadowy presence had faded, the chilling echo of Zephiron's voice still thrumming through his veins. His fingers twitched involuntarily, a reminder of just how small he was in the grand scheme of power. Even with his breakthrough to C-Rank, the disparity was like a chasm between a mouse and a dragon. And not just any dragon—a fallen Supreme Existence whose presence alone could make his bones rattle.
A slow exhale left his lips, and he straightened himself. The bustling noise of the guild faded into the background. Right now, he needed silence. Clarity.
"Let's get out of here before I lose my sanity," he muttered, already envisioning the perfect place. His eyes narrowed as the air around him distorted. Spatial vectors twisted at his command, warping the surrounding space. And then, with a faint ripple, he was gone.
He reappeared on a jagged cliff overlooking a sprawling forest, miles away from civilization. The sky stretched endlessly above, painting hues of orange and violet as the sun sank behind the distant mountains. The cool breeze rustled his hair, and for once, his mind felt... calm.
Azvoid took a seat on the rugged ground, his elbows resting on his knees as he stared into the distance. His obsidian eyes reflected the fading light, their depths swirling with determination and something darker—desperation.
"Zephiron..." he murmured, the name alone making his skin prickle. "What the hell am I even doing? That thing... it's a monster beyond comprehension. And I'm just—"
"An idiot with a death wish?"
Azvoid nearly jumped out of his skin.
"Noctis, you damn oversized lizard! Could you not pop up like a horror movie jump scare?" Azvoid grumbled, rolling his eyes as Noctis's deep, amused chuckle echoed within his mental space.
"Well, considering you almost pissed yourself from a mere shadow of Zephiron, I'd say you need a little more jump-scare training," Noctis snickered, his voice dripping with mockery.
Azvoid rubbed his temples. "Wonderful. Just what I need. Roast me while you're at it. You should've just called me a coward and been done with it."
"I would've if you were one," Noctis replied, his tone shifting to something unexpectedly serious. "But you're not. And that's why I'm still here."
Azvoid's gaze softened slightly, though he'd sooner swallow lava than admit he appreciated Noctis's words. "So, what now? I've hit C-Rank, which would've been thrilling if a freaking apocalyptic dragon didn't threaten to make me its midnight snack."
"Simple. You push forward. You train. Harder, smarter, and faster. Whatever it takes." Noctis's voice was steady, firm, and completely unforgiving. "Your talents are strong. But they're not enough. If you don't increase your power... well, let's just say Zephiron will turn your existence into a footnote."
Azvoid's jaw clenched. Noctis wasn't wrong. The difference in power was absurd. Even with his talents, even with his system, he was nothing more than an insect to something like Zephiron. A particularly crunchy one at that.
"So, what do you suggest, oh wise and terrifying one?" Azvoid asked, feigning nonchalance even as his fists tightened.
Noctis's rumbling chuckle returned. "You've got two weeks before you can summon another dragon. We'll use every moment of that time. Starting now."
Azvoid arched a brow. "Oh? You got some secret training regime that's going to turn me into some kind of world-breaking monster?"
Noctis's silence was answer enough.
"Shit... you do, don't you?"

"I told you before, Azvoid. My knowledge is as deep as the shadows themselves. The only question is whether you're willing to endure what it takes."
Azvoid swallowed, his fingers trembling slightly before he tightened his grip. "I've already made my choice, haven't I? Bring it on."
"That's the spirit." Noctis's satisfaction was palpable. "Then prepare yourself, little warrior. Because from now on, your journey forward will be nothing less than hell."
Azvoid's grin was wild, reckless, and utterly unhinged. "Hell, huh? I was getting bored anyway."
The wind howled, the chill biting into his skin. But Azvoid welcomed the cold. Because if he was going to march into hell, he'd damn well make sure he came out the other side....
