S.P.E.C.T.O.R-Chapter 553: This whole thing is getting confusing

“Seriously, what happened to this being a simple kidnapping attempt? We now have assassins and the involvement of four out of five of the big families,” Adam remarked as he used some of the clothes that were all over the floor to cover the two naked corpses.

[Puntanghunter69Ver2 (International Space Station): Looks like they started in the living room. Kek.]

[Superhearofangirl (Earth): Fucking perverted astronaut.]

Adam looked down at the pair of trousers before he sighed and bent down to pick them up, which he held between his index finger and thumb, after which he patted the pockets until he found a bulge that felt like a phone.

[[Scanning.]]

“At least I don’t have to take it out of the pocket,” Adam said as he dropped the trousers before looking at the woman's clothing.

“A skirt, huh? Where’s her purse then?” Adam said before looking around and saw it on the table next to a sofa.

He walked over and picked it up before looking through it, but failed to find her phone and so threw it back down.

[Justiceistruth (Earth): Wouldn’t it be a good idea for him to wear gloves because of fingerprints?]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): Why? He’s going to leave Earth, so what does it matter if they identify him?]

Adam moved towards the door he had tried to enter before being held up by the naked woman and found it to be the bedroom and as he entered, he saw a laptop lying on a small circular table.

He crossed the room while taking care to avoid the bedsheets that had been thrown all over the floor and picked up the laptop before quickly leaving the room. After which, he crossed the living room and entered the bathroom where the two naked corpses had appeared from.

As he entered, he found that the shower was still on and spraying out water, which he ignored as he saw another phone lying on the side, which he waved his uniband over.

Adam threw the phone down before leaving the bathroom and hotel room, while carrying the laptop.

After closing the hotel room door, which locked itself, he proceeded towards the elevator and pressed the button again before patiently waiting.

After waiting for around a minute, the elevator dinged before the doors opened, revealing three men in suits standing inside.

As they saw Adam there eyes raised in surprise, but they didn’t do anything else as Adam stepped inside and was about to press the button for the top floor, only to see that it was already illuminated and so pressed the button to close the doors instead.

“Heading to the top floor, sir?” The man in the middle asked curiously after seeing Adam press the close doors button.

“The roof,” Adam replied simply as he glanced at the man over his shoulder.

“Oh, my mistake,” The man replied and as Adam turned away, he glanced at the laptop in Adam’s hand.

A few seconds later, the elevator dinged and the door opened as it reached the top floor.

As Adam stepped out, he noticed that Sammy Joe, CatManSays and David Morose had all disappeared and so he turned and headed towards the doorway for the stairs to the roof.

The three men watched him leave and as he passed through the doorway, the man in the middle nodded at one of the men before he and the other one proceeded towards the penthouse doors.

The man who received the nod walked towards the door to the roof staircase and quietly followed Adam up it.

[[NOTICE. One of the individuals from the elevator is following you.]] Spector suddenly announced, as it displayed the feed from one of the security cameras in the staircase on Adams HUD and the stream.

[OfficialMuriel (Aqua Primus): You think those three in the elevator are connected with those in the penthouse?]

[Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): Most likely, they were heading towards the penthouse after all.]

Adam glanced at the feed before ignoring it as he passed through the door to the rooftop and closed it, causing it to lock before he proceeded towards where the shuttle was still waiting.

The man who had been following Adam reached the top of the stairs only to find that Adam was gone and the door to the rooftop was locked. After cursing, he had no choice but to head back down the staircase.

“Welcome back,” Lorelie said with a smile as Adam entered the shuttle.

“Did you have fun meeting Triple Trouble?” Emma asked with a smirk as Adam sat down in one of the chairs and opened the laptop.

“I take Spector fed you all the stream to watch?” Adam asked as he powered the laptop on before saying, “Spector, set course for England.”

“Affirmative,” Spector replied through the shuttle's internal comm before the shuttle started to move.

“Yup, I can’t believe that guy tried to stab that girl,” Lorelie remarked.

“Access Acquired,” Spector announced as the laptop powered up and a screen asking for a password appeared before it quickly vanished as Spector bypassed it.

“Scanning.”

“Did you learn anything from the phones of those two?” Adam asked.

“The communication device belonging to Andria Marshal has a text message from a number belonging to Jonathon Williams,” Spector replied before displaying the message on a holographic screen in the shuttle.

[[Jonathon Williams: Good evening Mrs Marshal. I have a new job for you and your husband.]]

[[Andria Marshal: Who’s the target?]]

[[Jonathon Williams: Ilyina Bogdana Yegorovna.]]

[[Andria Marshal: The assassin that does jobs for the Keita family?]

[[Jonathon Williams: The one and same.]]

[[Andria Marshal: That will cost you extra.]]

[[Jonathon Williams: Naturally.]]

[[Andria Marshal: I heard that she recently did a hit on a high-profile member of your family. I assume this is in response to that?]]

[[Jonathon Williams: Are you interested or not?]]

[[Andria Marshal: Give me the details.]]

[[Jonathon Williams: One of our people have informed us that she is staying at the Alamo Grand Hotel.]]

[[Jonathon Williams: Unknown.]]

[[Andria Marshal: Understood. Transfer half now and half when the job's done.]]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): They have probably worked together several times, considering the familiarity in the message's language.

[Gunlovergirl (Earth): It’s definitely easier to communicate this way, but they must have got overconfident since they never got caught.]

“This just keeps getting more and more interesting,” Rowena said with a smirk after reading the messages.

“More and more of a headache,” Adam remarked.

“It was in the news article that a high-level member of the Flemming family was found dead,” Emma said thoughtfully.

“So those two at the hotel were hired to kill the sniper as revenge for that?” Stacey asked.

“Seems like it,” Adam replied.

“But who hired the sniper?” Aphrodite asked.

“Spector?” Adam asked before a new holographic screen appeared and Spector said.

“I successfully located the chat discussing Emma Hopkins on one of the sites of the dark web.”

“Those usernames are strange,” Tephe remarked.

“It’s the dark web, it's all about criminal activities and secrets,” Adam replied before asking, “Were you able to trace where the message was sent from?”

“Burj Khalifa Atmospherer in Dubai,” Spector replied.

“The top-class restaurant in the Burj Khalifa?” Emma asked in surprise.

“What is with these people and organising assassinations in restaurants?” Adam asked in disbelief.

“Why would someone from the Keita family want to help the Femming family kidnap me?” Emma asked in confusion.

“Is there some new major business deal you were working on that any of the five families would want?” “Rowena asked.

“Multiple, honestly, it’s easier to ask if there are any business ventures that the five families wouldn’t want to acquire from me,” Emma replied with a sigh before continuing. “If it involves making money there interested, however, because I was always careful about the sort of ventures I partook in, they deemed it not worth the trouble.”

“Well, it seems this time something you're involved in has caught the attention of the Fleming family,” Rowena stated.

“That still doesn’t explain why the Keita family would want them to succeed in kidnapping you,” Lorelie replied.

“Or why the sniper had orders to kill you if they failed in kidnapping you,” Stacey added.

“This whole thing is getting confusing,” Tephe said in an annoyed tone.
