Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 308 - 245: Abandoned
"Tch, why didn’t you punch her for me? I wanna see her bleed and cry. That hateful goddess deserves a thousand deaths," Aurianna punched the nearby pillar which left cracks on it while everyone looked shuddered in fear as well as confusion by the sudden disappearance of Paige.
"Eva,when you taught me earlier that Paige had numerous church it made me realize that in my past life they were aware of my existence yet they didn’t try to help me during my time of death. Only the church of Sandeph tried to help me. They were probably working with my father and we’re probably also aware of what they were using the old Saintess for," Aurianna mumbled angrily.
"True, that means you were probably a bargain child to keep their cooperation going," Eva remarked.
"What does that mean?" Aurianna asked, tilting her head.
"Well basically being Saintess technically means the goddess wants you dead and she probably wants the Saintess to be tortured before death. So what is a much better way than human experimentation," Eva stated, Aurianna nodded in agreement. However, they were suddenly interrupted by King Girsal’s voice.
"Congratulations you have received the goddess blessing of Being the Saintess," King Girsal cheered.
"Whatever," Aurianna shrugged.
Her nonchalant attitude frustrated King Girsal so much that veins started to pop on his forehead. He clenched his fist tightly to try and remain calm though. Not wanting to express his distaste for Aurianna, since she clearly didn’t care about anything that just occurred.
"How dare you talk like that to father!?" Venassa yelled as she walked towards Aurianna raising his palm.
"Shut your mouth before I blow it off," Aurianna threatened, summoning a gun which she put in Venassa’s mouth, interrupting her slapping attempt.
"Be a good gurl and mind your own damn business. Oh, and while you’re at it, stop being a jealous brat," Aurianna threatened before removing the gun from Venassa’s mouth. With a bold turn she strutted off towards the balcony, everyone in her path jumped out of it quickly, gazing at her in shock.
Venassa gritted her teeth, tears embedded in her eyes, "Aurianna..."
"Now Eva, explain to me well. You’re saying the church is what exactly," Aurianna asked through mind communication.
She was now on the balcony, all alone as well. No one dared to follow after her after how she acted during the party.
"The church of Sandeph isn’t the only church of Paige but just a small portion. They have an entire promise land and several countries under them as well. Paige has a very huge religion," Eva responded.
"So in simple terms, I was abandoned by the church the day I became the Saintess?"
Eva nodded.
Aurianna was looking out at the garden with a bitter smile, "Hah, so who’s my enemy and friend over here? Does this mean the whole world is against me?"
Eva sighed, "That’s hard to answer. My belief however is that the church of Sandeph were an exception. They probably tried to save you and ended up being caught in the crossfire. Because if the church of Paige is truly an organization that stretches across the world, it would have been easy for them to wipe Sandeph off the map with some Grand Humans for mistreating the Saintess and attacking other church members."
"I see..." Aurianna paused a moment before biting her lip, "I still wished that we could have broken one or two of Paige’s arms though."
"Well with your current power you wouldn’t be able to make a dent on her if she’s being serious. Honestly if it wasn’t for me threatening her beauty and her actually caring for it, we could’ve been in real trouble."
"Hearing all of this, I’m not sure if I want to save the church anymore. However, hearing that these people risked their lives to save mine has touched me. So I would save them even if they don’t accept. And when I’m strong enough I’ll destroy all of Paige’s other churches one by one. No matter what stands in my way I will crush it," Aurianna promised herself.
"Well I hope to see that happen one day," Eva commented.
"It’s better to go back to the ballroom. I’m sure the priest will be arriving anytime soon," Eva urged.
"Okay then," Aurianna agreed as she went back to the ballroom.
Once she was seen many people ignored her recent behavior as they wished her a happy birthday and presented her with many gifts. Most showed nervous smiles though or hands shaking as they handed her gifts.
"I would like to have a short chat with my daughter," King Girsal said. The people dispersed with speed. Now all except The King, Queen, and Aurianna remained in the ballroom.
"Aurianna, you know when the church comes they’ll try to take you away, so when the Priest comes say you would like to stay with your family," King Girsal said as he held Aurianna by the shoulder.
"And why should I say that father?" Aurianna asked, an innocent expression on her face.
"The church has bad people. People who probably want to keep you locked up and let you pray for the rest of your life. You would never interact with the people. Would you want that?" King Girsal gazed at her worriedly.
"Not really," Aurianna responded hesitantly, making King Girsal grin. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"You see, they won’t even allow you to see your family," He continued.
’Tch, my family? All this family bullshit is a lie. In the end, I was only left with you and Ralph,’ Aurianna growled, letting all the anger seethe.
"Yes Aurianna, do listen to your father," Queen Amber spoke calmly, hoping to convince Aurianna.
Face to the ground, Aurianna responded, "Alright then."
A few moments later a trumpet could be heard followed by an announcement.
"The Church has arrived!!"
"Welcome Head Priest Deille," King Girsal smiled.
Aurianna looked up towards the tall priest, he wore a pink cloak that had red markings from the shoulder down to the waist. His face wasn’t visible since it was covered by a hood.
’He’s definitely the same,’ Aurianna thought.
