Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 322 - 259: Training
"It’s a forest where all the failed creations of the gods were kept and sealed so that they couldn’t leave. No race ever dared to walk here since all those who ever passed through the Forbidden Forest would die. A few survivors lost their minds," the man explained.
"If not for the seal here the monsters trapped would have gone on a rampage in the towns, cities, and countries. They’re even known to be more horrifying than dungeon monsters...." as the man was explaining a monster appeared out of the pond and in a flash bit off the head of the man. His body dropped motionlessly to the ground as blood splashed on those near him. They just stood there, frozen and in shock.
There was no warning, no way to prepare them for what was in store. The man’s headless body suddenly disappeared into sparkles.
____________
Everyone stared in horror, their pupils contracting and their hearts racing as they sweated profoundly.
The only word in their mind was, ’RUN!!’
Everyone dashed in different directions as fast as possible. They were being chased by several small monsters. They were no taller than young adults, having the figure of a woman, a shell covering their face as wings sprouted out of their heads. They would use their talon-sharp claws like blades, effortlessly slicing through thick tree trunks like butter.
Looking back, the bodies of children, middle-aged and older adults could be seen torn in half, none of them were spared. Their insides were shredded with their guts spilling out. Blood was dying, the forest grass a crimson red.
As the monsters attempted to chew on the bodies, savoring their kills, the bodies turned into sparkles and disappeared.
"You fools this is a test! I knew there was no free lunch after agreeing to join this new church," the cat girl from the arena complained as she dodged the monster’s attacks. After a bit of hit-and-run tactics, she was able to kill a couple, at great struggle though. She eventually said screw it, going for all-out attacks. She hated having to run and get a couple of blows in, she’d rather take it down with brute force.
Cuts and bruises could be seen all over her body, despite that though the blood lust and demented smile on her face never disappeared. She just continued focusing on the fight, hacking and slashing, hacking and slashing. She was so focused on the kill that she wouldn’t bat an eye at getting slashed or bitten at.
In the next moment, she woke up to see herself in the revival room. It was practically filled to the brim, for as far as she could see there were others.
Some were shivering as others got up and picked a weapon that floated in the middle of the room.
[ Congratulations you have awakened your second job class a healer and you have leveled up your main job class Berserker ]
___________
"Creeeee!!!"
Mash and Meru heard a loud screech which caused them to turn around as the beast before they caused her to tremble.
Before them was a humanoid being over 7 feet tall. It had a single blood-red eye in the middle of its face and its entire body was as black as the night. Faint red veins could be seen across its body, its most intimidating feature was the 6 arms that were shaped like swords.
"I am hungry, I’m tired, I want blood!!" Whined the monster before slowly walking towards them.
"Meru, come back!" Mash cried out to her sister, who was sprinting full force in a different direction.
But not even a full second later, the humanoid monster leapt at Meru, closing the distance instantly. It slashed her in the back, Meru gave a shrill of pain before falling to the ground. The monster then pierced her body, lifting it towards its face, which opened up to reveal rows of horrifying teeth but before it could devour her she turned into sparkles.
Mash was silent. Her pupils were glued to the creature, which had killed her sister in seconds. Her eyes watered, but instead of tears falling they turned red, red with rage.
She ran toward the monster, scooping up a small twig, "Die you monster!!" She shouted. At this moment, time seemed too slow for her. The creature turned toward her, noticing her shout. It started to lift its arm to prepare for an attack but it was over instantly.
Her muscles tightened and her movement became quicker, before the creature could react she stabbed it in the eye. She pushed off the creature, hopping a short distance away.
"Kraasyyayaya!!!" the monster screamed in pain as it used its blade hands to cover its face.
Mash gave a satisfied grin as the monster cried in pain. Before she could go for a follow-up attack, however, her vision changed. She was looking at the creature before but now, she was seeing her own body, just upside down.
’Huh? That’s weird.’ She thought.
She thought about it for a second before realizing what happened. Her head was cut off- it was simply falling down before her body. Blood gushed out of her decapitated head, the cut was clean.
[ You’ve awakened the subclass Speedster. ]
"Meru!" Mash cried out anxiously. She looked around to see herself in the revival room. Her hands were trembling at the shock at her sudden decapitation. She shoved her fear aside, starting to look frantically for her sister. After searching and pushing past the many people she eventually found Meru. She was picking up a strange-looking object with the label | GUN | on it.
"Meru!!" Mash cried as she hugged her sister who was trembling slightly. Meru hugged her back, tears falling down her face, "I was so scared. I’m sorry I left you sister."
Mash shook her head, smiling through the tears, "Don’t worry about it. I’m just glad it wasn’t permanent. Stick close to me next time, okay?"
"I’m alive?!" someone gasped in shock.
A screen appeared in front of them all, it showed Aurianna clapping with a smile, "Since you’re alive, good luck on going back for the training. And those who have awakened your subclass Congratulations!"
Despite Aurianna giving congratulations with a pleasing demeanor, it had the opposite effect of morale boosting. It caused everyone to shiver. The fact she was so pleased only bothered them more. The fact they’d been dropped in a situation without any warning and subjected to such terror and torture.
Aurianna continued. "Quickly pick up a weapon, because you will go back in 3 minutes. Every day you must level up three times before you can resume your daily activities."
She could see everyone’s disturbed expressions through the screen but she ignored them. If anything, it pleased her that no one enjoyed the training. It meant they would try harder to be done with it as quickly as possible. They would give it their all.
"From now on until the forest is wiped of those nasty creatures, you would train, increase your levels and perfect your skills. With the help of the little Quartz, training your subclass would be a bit easy," Aurianna smiled.
"Saintess, please stop! This is madness!! I knew we would go through some hardship and train, but this...this is simply torture!!" yelled a woman who couldn’t stop trembling. Aurianna looked at her coldly without a word, making her shut up instantly. She was still trembling but she knew from the reaction Aurianna gave it would do nothing for her.
Another person called out to her, "Saintess I also agree. It’s too much for the children and the old!!"
"Pffft, what would happen if someone were to kidnap your weak useless child and you’re a strong person? Wouldn’t it be easy for them to kill you by baiting your children or elders? And for the orphans, those of you without parents, you all would be dead or sold as soon as you’re caught!!"
Hearing Aurianna’s harsh words many of the children shivered, however, they thought to themselves. The fear in their eyes was slowly replaced by stubbornness and the will to get stronger. She was right. They couldn’t be useless or helpless.
"Good. I’m glad to see those expressions. All of you take note. You can’t let children have more of a spine than you adults! The White Gemaris goddess church shall accept no weaklings."
Many adults in the room, including the woman who’d complained previously gazed at the kids. Upon seeing their determined expressions, they looked down with shame. If they didn’t try it would be nothing short of cowardice.
Aurianna continued, "As they say, those who are near death’s door would fight with everything they have. If you could do this over and over again, then imagine the results?"
"Why doesn’t the Saintess join us then?" asked a man angrily. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
She looked away from the screen guiltily, "Ahem, I’m the Saintess I’m an exception."
’Honestly, I had enough of Eva’s training to last me a lifetime. There’s no way I’d willingly go back to something even remotely similar!’
"This isn’t fair!!" a person yelled
