"Cough cough, how old was I back then?"

Shen Weiyi snapped back to reality, her face briefly flashed an awkward expression as she spoke to the unreliable someone on the phone, "Don't you know who you are? Aren't you afraid of the rumors of having an illegitimate child tomorrow?"

"Haven't there been numerous rumors about me being a dad these years?"

Indeed, having her as an illegitimate daughter already, another illegitimate son didn't seem like anything new.

"Do you know that kidnapping children is illegal?" Shen Weiyi reminded him.

The person on the other end of the phone snickered, "Do you really think your father is that naive? Don't worry, Secretary Jiang has already called the police. The police came, but the little guy refused to go with them and couldn't provide his parents' information, so they left him with me temporarily. Upon hearing this, Little Douding immediately pursed his lips.

Secretary Jiang added, "Mr. Shen has already called the police, but the child refused to reveal his name and didn't want to leave with the police, so we had to bring him back. The police are looking for his family, and we believe there will be news soon."

Shen Weiyi looked at Little Douding in front of her and guessed that she wouldn't get much out of him. She pinched his chubby cheeks and said, "Alright, you can stay here for tonight. But just for tonight, and tomorrow you must go home with the police officer, okay?"

Bujidao, Bujidao!

Little Douding's eyes whirled around, and he suddenly hugged Shen Weiyi's legs and looked up at her, "Tummy hungry!"

Well, she hadn't agreed yet, so it didn't count.

Shen Weiyi's heart softened instantly, and she held his hand, "Come on in."

However, she felt a bit uneasy looking at the hot pot on the table, not sure if it was suitable for a child.

Meanwhile, the little fellow stared at the vegetable and meatballs on the table and then looked up at Shen Weiyi with big, sparkling eyes, "Little Bao wants meatballs."

Shen Weiyi thought since the meatballs were homemade by the nanny before she left, it should be fine for the little guy to eat them, so she said, "Okay, but you'll have to wait a bit."

Upon hearing this, the little guy sat quietly by the side, neither fussing nor clamoring.

He seemed not too difficult to manage.

When Shen Weiyi saw the soup had come to a boil, she put the prepared meat and vegetables, especially the meatballs Little Douding wanted, into the pot to cook. Then she turned to Secretary Jiang, "Secretary Jiang, have you eaten yet? Would you like to join us? I've made a HaiDiLao tomato-flavored base."

"No need, I've already eaten," Secretary Jiang said with a smile.

"Okay!" While Shen Weiyi watched Little Douding, she also kept an eye on the pot. When the vegetables were nearly done, she scooped them out. Part of them went into her own bowl, and part, after cooling down, went into the small bowl in front of the little one.

"I don't want vegetables, just meatballs." When Little Douding saw the vegetables in his bowl, his eyebrows almost twisted into caterpillars, and his little face was filled with resistance.

"You can't be picky, kid!" Shen Weiyi pointed at the vegetables in his bowl, "Eat the vegetables first, then you can have the meatballs."

"The little master isn't picky. There are just too many vegetables," Little Douding declared boldly, his big eyes serious.

"Is that so? Let me see." Instead of calling him out, Shen Weiyi symbolically used serving chopsticks to take away a piece of vegetable, "There, now there's less."

Little Douding blinked his eyes, looked at Shen Weiyi, then at the little bowl in front of him, and after hesitating, he finally picked up a spoon and stuffed a piece of vegetable into his mouth.

"Good boy!" Shen Weiyi saw him finish a bite of vegetable and then happily fetched him a meatball.

Little Douding blew on it to cool it down before putting it in his mouth. After finishing, he looked up at Shen Weiyi with bright, shining eyes, "Good, Little Bao wants more meatballs."

Shen Weiyi pointed at his bowl and told him, "You need to finish all the vegetables before you can have more meatballs."

Little Douding: ...

Determined to have the tasty meatballs, Little Douding closed his eyes, quickly finished the remaining vegetables, then looked up pleadingly at Shen Weiyi, "Finished now."

Shen Weiyi held back a laugh and fetched him another, enjoying the fun of feeding while watching Little Douding eat quite a few vegetables.

Ha, human cubs are so adorable!

If only he had a preschool diploma, it wouldn't be so easy to trick him!

Secretary Jiang watched the interaction between the two and couldn't help smiling lightly.
