Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!-Chapter 793: In Front of an Ex, Cannot Lose
Heading upstairs, Adrian made a call to the event organizer for tonight, mentioning that he would attend. Fifteen minutes later, the organizer respectfully sent two invitation cards for the dinner party.
Setting the invitations aside, Adrian casually picked out a suit. After changing into it, he waited for Summer Sutton.
He wasn’t particularly interested in such occasions. Whether he went or not didn’t matter, and he chose his outfit casually.
Summer Sutton also didn’t care much for these events in the past, but today, she rummaged through her wardrobe, picking out one dress after another.
"What are you doing?" Adrian asked suspiciously as he came up behind her, engrossed in selecting clothes.
"Choosing an outfit." Summer Sutton gave him a look as if to say, can’t you tell?
"Choosing what outfit?" Adrian pressed.
Summer Sutton was actually looking for the most stunning dress in her wardrobe.
For such an occasion tonight, Ariella Sawyer mentioned there would be many female celebrities, and Summer Sutton thought Lorraine Hughes would definitely attend too.
Though Adrian liked her in her natural state, Summer Sutton didn’t want to lose face in front of her husband’s former arranged date.
She usually wouldn’t fuss over other women, but if she did, not many could rival her.
With her looks and intelligence, if this were an ancient imperial palace, she’d be the kind to triumph over all if she wanted to.
It all depended on whether she wanted to fight.
Having scoured the wardrobe, she ultimately picked a backless evening gown.
A fairy-like nude long dress, brushing the ankles, strapless design, with her long hair cascading naturally. As she walked out, it seemed as if the air moved with her stride, the thin gauze of the skirt swaying gently like an ethereal aura.
Adrian’s gaze swept over to her direction, staring at her for quite a while, a flash of surprise evident in his eyes.
Summer Sutton turned her face slightly, meeting his gaze quietly, her red lips curling slightly.
From Adrian’s expression, she knew what kind of effect her dress had tonight.
Summer Sutton was bursting with confidence, but unexpectedly, when Adrian snapped out of it, he ended up pushing her towards the dressing room, "Darling, let’s change into something else."
"Why?" Summer Sutton was puzzled.
Adrian gazed at her exposed back for a moment, then solemnly declared, "Because it’s too eye-catching!"
Summer Sutton was speechless for a while, her lips twitching slightly.
Adrian didn’t care much, just pushing her towards the dressing room.
"Don’t you find it bothersome?" Summer Sutton stopped, somewhat reluctant.
Moreover, time was almost up; the dinner party was about to start.
Adrian pondered, didn’t insist, but instead pulled a coat over her shoulders.
...
By the time they drove to the dinner party, they were among the last to arrive.
The scene was star-studded, filled with the most popular male and female stars in the entertainment industry. Everywhere one looked, it was a feast for the eyes.
Many media outlets were also present, cameras ready, snapping photos of the actresses walking the red carpet.
Upon arrival, Summer Sutton quietly pulled Adrian past the red carpet section, heading straight to the hotel’s banquet hall.
When they arrived, Ariella Sawyer had already finished the red carpet and was resting off to the side.
As the last actress to walk the red carpet, Lorraine Hughes happened to be arriving as well.
Ariella Sawyer waved at Summer Sutton from afar, "Summer, come over, come over!"
Summer Sutton lifted the hem of her dress and slowly walked over in her direction.
