Single Spell Sorcerer-Chapter 81: Business
Chapter 81: Business
Jax failed to taste the food he ate. His mind was so lost in everything else that he didn’t even notice when he had devoured everything he had in front of him.
’I must’ve been very hungry,’ he thought, but even that he wasn’t sure about.
He wanted to leave immediately to return to his room, but he wasn’t sure if that was perhaps rude to the other girl? But then, he had paid for it.
"Do you want seconds?" a voice came from before him.
Jax looked up and saw the older woman standing before him. "Ah, no. I’m full."
The woman looked at him. "You look like you’re second-guessing your decisions. Just to let you know, I won’t be giving your stones back."
"No, no that’s not it. I was just thinking," Jax said.
"Thinking about what?" she asked, her eyes like daggers, staring into his soul.
Jax looked at her for a while before lowering his head. "I... I was just... I was just thinking about where the weapons shop is in this village."
The woman narrowed her eyes. "Weapons shop? There is no such thing in this village."
Jax paused. "What? How could there be no weapons shop? What about armor?" he asked.
"We don’t have shops like the big cities do. We just have a smithy, run by a disciple of the Iron Hermit. You can go there and ask for them to make you one."
Jax leaned backward, giving a curious look. "Do they make armors too?"
"Armors, weapons, anything that requires working with metals. If you have a design, they can likely make it for you."
"I see. That will work greatly for me. Thank you," Jax said, finally going back to his room. Once inside, he sat on his bed, waiting.
Jax fidgeted, not knowing what else he could do at that moment except wait. Gemma floated around him for a while, which made him even more self-conscious. He wondered if he was doing something bad perhaps if he was feeling so nervous about it.
As he thought that, there was a knock on the door.
Jax paused for a moment, his heart skipping a beat. ’Isn’t it too early?’ he thought.
Had the owner said she would be sending the girl to his room an hour since he began to eat, or after he was done with it? He couldn’t remember at that moment.
And either way, he felt that it was quite early. An hour could not have passed already, could it?
Jax waited for another knock, just to be sure, and it came all the same.
"Well, I’ll be going now."
Gemma disappeared in a flash, leaving Jax all alone, which somehow made Jax even more self-conscious about everything. He slowly got up and walked over to the door before opening it.
Beyond the door stood a beautiful lady in stark blue clothes, a beautiful smile on her face. Her hair was light brown in color, her skin a fair degree darker than what was normal everywhere. She carried a smoky aroma, which Jax believed was the case because she had to spend her time around the tavern kitchen.
This was not the girl Jax had chosen. The one he remembered had fairer skin and darker hair. But this one was certainly more beautiful than the other one in his eyes, so he couldn’t complain.
"H-hello!" the girl greeted with an embarrassed look.
"Hello," Jax quickly greeted back.
"I... I heard you wanted someone... someone like me," she said.
Jax felt himself blush. "Yes, please. Come in."
The girl narrowed her eyes and stepped in. As soon as she walked inside, her eyes widened in shock.
"Wow! They had such good rooms in this place?" she asked. "It’s so much better than mine."
"Is that so?" Jax asked. He thought it was obvious that the servers wouldn’t have this good a room. Damn thing cost a fortune after all.
"Yeah," the young woman said. "But then, mine only costs 2 stones. This must be more expensive than that."
Jax narrowed his eyes. "The owner makes you pay to stay here?" he asked.
"Of course," she said. "Why? Do you not pay?"
"No, I do. I’m just surprised she’s making you pay."
"Hah! Water will light on fire before that woman doesn’t accept her Navi stones," the young woman said. "She makes everyone pay to stay in her tavern."
That was so weird to Jax. Maybe she paid them a higher income? He couldn’t judge her just based on the words of a single employee.
"Anyway. Shall we get to business now?"
Jax slowly nodded. "I’m sorry, this is all so new to me. I’m not really sure how one goes about this matter."
"That’s alright. I’ve done it thousands of times," the young woman said. "Just get comfortable."
Jax blinked at the number and nodded before sitting on the bed. He took a deep breath and slowly took off his tunic, revealing his well-defined torso. He undid the button on his pants and—
"AAAH! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?" the young woman suddenly screamed.
Jax froze and looked up, his face filled with confusion. He saw the young woman’s face, a mask of anger, confusion, disgust, and sheer shock.
Her eyes were wide at the moment, making Jax even more confused.
"What... what do you mean?" he asked.
"Why the fuck are you taking off your clothes?" she asked.
"You... you told me to get comfortable," he said. "Weren’t we... umm... going to do it?"
The young woman’s face grew a shade of pink. "Who... who do you think I am?" she asked.
"What do you—weren’t you sent up by the owner?" Jax asked.
"NO!" the woman said.
"But you said... you were who I was waiting for."
"I’m not a fucking prostitute," the woman shouted in anger. "I said I was who you wanted."
Jax’s eyes narrowed. "Who... who do you think I want?" he asked.
"A blacksmith," she said. "You said you wanted an armor, in the tavern hall. I came to talk to you about that business."
